- Опубліковано 7 лип 2024
- I just started creating my dream woodshop/makerspace because I just moved to a new house with a real shop! No more sharing the garage with my wife. I'll have lots more on this move to come. This week I give a first look around and show how I was able to easily move all my heavy tools and benches. Let me know what you think and feel free to subscribe to follow the journey!

The author does like to from scratch, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.
Congratulations on the move. Bless you and your family stay safe with the fires.
Congrats dude can't wait to see the layout.
You are really lucky, my shop was built by my grandfather in the 80s with limited equipment, but it works, and I love it.
Good for you! So, so happy you are flying high now with your equipment. Make it work for you. It seems you have great support team with your wife on board. Best wishes to you
you look a lot tougher now! good luck with the new shop - lucky man.
CONGRATULATIONS on your new shop! I can’t wait to see you make gorgeous tables again.👍❤️
Thanks Wanda!
Good luck with everything. It looks awesome! Can’t wait to see it all set up.
Thanks bud!
Glad to see things are going well for you and your family
Thanks!
New shop looks great!
Getting there!
Just coming from your Jonny Builds November 2023 video, and seeing how everything used to look. The nostalgia! The old staircase must have been weighing on your mind for such a long time, so I'm glad you took steps to remedy it.
Thank you Cam for your hard work and after the fact commentary. You have talked about how tough it is to work by yourself. How true, how true! Also Happy New Year to your family.
Huge congrats on the shop. Man oh man that was close to your eye. I’m glad you’re good buddy.
Me too!
Face scars are never fun. Had a ladder fall on me and nearly cut my eye out. Glad you’re okay and great looking shop 👍🏻
Thanks angel! It was lucky it wasn’t my eye
Going to be a great shop!!
Congrats the new space!
Thanks!
Super exciting to move to a new shop/house! Congratulations Cam!
Thanks Ryan!
If you build an addition on your new shop make it twice as big as you think you need. Believe me because you will never regret it! Great video Cam!
No shop move is complete without an injury and a little blood. Glad it was not any worse. Looking forward to seeing the new shop setup and more projects.
Thanks james!
Congrats on the new shop! Also when you said that was your wife on the side of the truck I remembered I've seen her on commercials here in Oregon for years. Small world!
Table saw setup! Congratulations on the new house and great new shop. I can't wait to see the shop when you get everything situated the way you want. Keep us posted! So sorry about the fires in your area. Hope all is well.
Thanks so much. It’s coming along!
You are so good at this. Thanks for being safe. Every video inspires me (and **cough** causes me to spend on!) my woodshop!
It’s a tough life!
Great to have family and friends to help with the move
It is!
Congratulations!!!! I’m sure you’re gonna do just fine in your new shop Cam!!!!
I hope so mike!
Yes I have done that. Thankfully it hit me with the battery and not the point. Almost cried and laughed simultaneously... On another note just acquired a CNC plasma table and looking to build my first table and barstools. Love your channel. The first job I ever had they paid me in flying lessons.
I'm mostly just excited to see the layout. Getting to start from scratch means you can design the most efficient layout possible. Hope you're enjoying the new space, but I'm sure I'll find out. This is a fun channel to watch chronologically!
Congrats on your new house and of course the new shop.
Looking forward to keep watching your channel.
Thanks
Thanks!!
Thanks for the sneak peek! Stay safe! (From fires and vengeful falling objects) Can't wait to see it all set up!
Thanks Colleen!
Cam, congrats on the new home/shop and the quick selling of your old home. Can't wait to see you setup your new shop! Stay safe up there!
Thanks Armando!
Just watching today about the head wound. Similar to me yesterday, working above the kitchen door and I balanced my claw hammer on the door top edge. I came down the step ladder and took the removed tiling outside, stopped for a coffee and forgot the hammer! This morning I go to unhook the door off its latch (its latched back to stop our dogs pawing at it) look up and see the hammer still sat on the top! Quite an escape for my wife, myself the dogs and of course the ceramic tiled floor!
Cool Man so happy for you can’t wait to see what other cool things you do to your shop and other work that you do
Thanks Courtney!
So excited to see the new shop!
Thanks!
Congrats on the new place. I hope that you have no fire issues. I look forward to seeing your completed shop.
Thank you!
The saw stop. Cool new show... Excited to see future projects and videos made in the New shop.
Thanks man!
Good luck with your new shop !!
Thanks Chris!
Cam, love to see your whole shop organisation. By the way I’ve been reliably informed by a doctor and a retired dentist who are both woodworkers that the CA glue we use is the same thing that the doctors use. I use it all the time for small cuts. Know exactly what you are going through with the fires as it was our turn last Christmas with the fires down the entire east coast of NSW and into Victoria. Just horrendous. Cheers jenny
Jenny Barnes yeah. I’m a not yet retired dentist and woodworker, and it is the same glue. I use it on cuts also.
What?? No way
They make “liquid bandage” in case you don’t want to risk it
It's true. As a veterinarian I can confirm that it's (nearly) the same. However the surgical grade glue is produced to higher standards regarding contaminations. Personally I prefere a suture or the stapler (but then you need some form of anesthesia).
@@Aladeen279 I actually have a bottle of "surgiloc oc" for larger cuts. For the small stuff I just use the CA I use for woodworking.
Happy for you.
Good Luck man.
Thanks!
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
All good!
¡Felicidades mi amigo virtual! desde Perú
Congratulations Cam and family!
Thanks bud!
Cam..Cant,Wait To See Your New Shop Set Up And Running..Keep,It Up And Thanx For The Video On Your Move..

Table Saw. Like the new shop space. Going to be fun arranging & setting up. I like the placement of the tablesaw right in the middle, too.
For sure
My best wishes to you on your new place Sir ! Looks very spacious . Thank you 😊
Thanks!
Router table. Best of luck with your new shop. 👍
Thanks!
Also, many (and I mean A LOT) of what you do is really educational even for minor repairs. More power to you.
I appreciate that
Forklift! Can't wait to see that thing in action!
Ya man!!

Big congrats man! Huge upgrade

New place looks awesome! Congrats! I know what you’re going through. Many fires nearby here in CA. Stay safe! Can’t wait to see what you come up with in the new space!
Thanks mike! Stay safe there
Tv for sure! Watching you as I work now! Shop build are my favourite. Keep it up man!
Awesome!
Tommy gates are badass!
I really enjoy the “shop update vlog style” vids. You are a lucky man owning a shop like this. Looking forward to the next progress update.
Thanks!
I'd be curious to see the ceiling hoist, someday I plan on having a shop that I work in by myself so seeing tools that would assist in moving materials around by yourself sounds really insightful, but I would also love to see you do more with burning wood and epoxy! I've wondered what a small bookshelf would look like, or a nightstand.
Good luck man. Looking forward to seeing the new layout. Cheers.
Cheers!
Such a cool new space. Can't wait to see it evolve into "yours"! Tell Riggs he is a good boy!
He knows he is! Tell him all the time
Great video! I am moving into a bigger shop myself. All we have is four walls. Curious to watch how you build your new space out.
REALy really enjoyed that cam.
Thanks Manjit!
Dust collection. Very exciting for you both, Cam. Keep Safe and respirated. Looking forward to seeing how you organise the new shop, Cheers, Mandy.
Thanks Mandy!
The new replacement for the chain hoist - want to see you stop crushing yourself finally !
Nice Shop!
Raise The Roof !!

So excited for you dude! Glad the house sold!
Me too!
The new shop looks good👍
Thanks Riley!
Congratulations my virtual friend! Excited for you. One piece of advice.....don't let it go to your head!
Do you mean the impact driver? Cause too late
Thank you for sharing. I felt really stressed, though, we were in the middle of fires burning all around us last year and living in fear for months is just awful. Take care.
You too!
Any tool that saves your back from falling tables 😜
That scar was scary close to your eye man! Glad you "missed!"
New sliding table saw stop : new workshop looks great , can’t wait to see it finished and all set up ready to go. Congrats on the sale of the old home to 👍
Thanks Todd!
Congrats on the new House and Shop it looks awesome
Thanks!
Dust Collector setup: Cam thanks for taking us along the journey of moving even in fast motion LOL can't wait to see the shop in full operation
Me too!
So jealous of that space! Now I know what to shoot for!
Nice and organised move, looks like it went well 👏🏼😅 You have been with a gorgeous wife 😁
We also moved during those fires, here in Oregon. It was pretty crazy and I know the feeling. I’m also happy to find a local channel to watch and learn from. Finding local places to buy lumber has been a hard part of getting started in woodworking and in another video you already mentioned a place you buy from. Will definitely keep watching!
Ya, Goby walnut
Tool- the bottle opener on the beer fridge.
Congrats on the new shop! Stay safe.
Thanks bud!
Sliding table saw. Congrats on the move Cam and I hope that you can get it organized to accomplish all of your future projects. Duct tape and shop towels work well for on the job injuries. Just saying.
If I was by myself I’d have gone that route
Sick scratch!
WOW cam I envy u loads. good bit of space and loads of of open space. which u loads of happiness. and keep the videos coming.
Thanks Manjit!
OMG....your area is amazing. I also live in mountain area with a lot of forest. But what is missing is a big shop. I wish to be there. Congrats. Is amazing.
Cheers Adrian!
I am most excited about you entire ducting and air system. Looked great in the old shop and curious how it'll look in the new one. Congrats on the new home man!
Thanks!
The big professional bench saw that you got for free!
Enjoy your new shop, I am sure you’ll enjoy it once you’re organized. I moved mine over two years ago. It’s not fun but a bigger space is worth it.
Thanks bud!
Glad you got the shop! I remember the great fires of 2020.... Oregonian here as well. They were terrible.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Congratulation. From Russia with respect. Wonderful place! Поздравляю. Из России с уважением. Отличное место!
Congrats man, I've been following you for quite a while now and you deserve it.
Thanks so much
When you do add on to the new shop, then you'll be able to get a industrial planer. Congratulations man.
Oh, don’t know about that 😊
Really nice shop man hope to see more videos for your workshop
Thanks!
Congratulations on the new shop. Looks great. Beautiful setting. The fires are scary stuff.
For sure jay
All the very best for your new shop dear friend, u have always been an inspiration for me and I really admire the way u do things with so much perfection it gives a very satisfied feeling to see the tables finished with such quality...I wish I could do this in my place one day...all the best again for your future "mega" shop and God bless....
Thanks bud!
Good luck with the move. Looking forward to all of the new videos. Hope that the fires stay well away. Regards Richie
Thanks Richie!
Dust Collector + Air Compressor. Congrats on the Epic new shop! I have always found that it is better to work with "just enough" space for a shop, because the larger the available space the more "junk & clutter" gets stuffed into it.
I’m excited to get them out of the way!
Table saw, I had the same type of experience involving a claw hammer and a 12ft a-frame ladder (so much for all the PPE training).
congradz bud, looking forward to see what you make in it. just subbed 👍
