I also thought he'd survive. I'd actually predicted Hasegawa as a potential victim (to further Kamimura's character arc), but it actually happened in reverse. But like you say, it makes sense. Ultimately, he's an easy target who knows a lot about crime scenes. Doesn't make his death any less devastating tho. RIP king 😭

Hiroaki would just kill himself if a motive got to him enough. He hates himself more than he hates everyone there, except maybe Okazaki. (In the past, I’d include Yanagi but they’ve genuinely made up even if they still aren’t friends.)

Wada: Wasn’t seen at breakfast is kinda suspicious but maybe there’s more to know. Ojima: He should be with Hiroaki in his room the whole time. He might or Hiroaki left for a moment. Okazaki: Was in breakfast but it seems she was alone the rest of the time. Hama: Seems like he was with Watari the whole time. Tsuno: She was during the breakfast but we don’t where she was afterwards she might with Wada but it’s unknown. Hiroaki: Was with Ojima in his room. Tamba: Was never seen during breakfast same as Wada but looks like nobody knew where she was. Hasegawa: Was during breakfast but it’s unknown where he was later but it seems he found the body, the thing is the BDA did somebody saw the body before or because Watari and Hama were nearby it count as 3 people to trigger the BDA if that’s the case then there’s 3 people left out but if that’s not the case Hasegawa might be the only left out. Watari: She was in breakfast and was with Hama. Shigeki: Same as Wada and Tamba he was alone and didn’t show up on breakfast and know with the fact that he was half naked it makes it suspicious. For now there are a lot of suspects but the primary are Wada, Tamba, and Shigeki And least suspected are Hama, Watari, and Hasegawa

I knew there had to be atleast 1 male death(whether there is 1 victim or 2 it doesn’t matter) the gender imbalance would be to big if there was another 2 female deaths, then again they dont have to follow that. 3 girls and 7 boys would be king crazy for the end of the 3rd chapter even if it was 3 and 6 it would still be crazy.

As much as Okazaki may get on your nerves they do bring up a good point that they need to get to investigating since they're on a time limit.
