I think I'd like a definitive edition of p3. The cutscenes and content of fes, the opening cinematic of the original, and the options of portable. Plus, of course, some quality of life stuff

You have some of the greatest humor I have ever heard of, though that might just be me laughing at little things like at 31:25 (and the ensuing joke right afterward concerning the enemies' toughness), for example. Still a great run and really shows that, with some patience and skill (and some MASSIVE damage to the unfilled progress toward the end goal), you can make even the weakest of things become a god by the end!
That thumbnail got me thinking how cool it would be that protagonists get boxed dialogue with their respective bustup with emotions like every other character has
FES is superior overall, but man i LOVE femc's design and characterization, so my highest hopes are adding her to the FES version somehow, along with the other extra portable content, not likely but man that'd be awesome

I started playing this game just a couple weeks ago and seeing this is like a good guide cuz if you're lv 25 for a fight I think I would be good being lv 20 with a full team lol. Also since I never find anything you talking about where things are, are a massive help. Keep doing what you do and being great
I agree, final boss was pretty great. Still remember I tried to cheese it back in the day with Armageddon and quickly learned it has phases and HP gating. Good times.
I know this is late to respond to a video but the Police Station is not selling weapons to the general public. That officer just knows something bad is happening in town and SEES is the best qualified to handle it and trying to support you in SEES operations.
Personally, I'm very happy with P3P being returned to the fore, not least because of the FemPC being the only one in the series (Persona 2 Part 2 aside) that is actually the main lead in...pretty much any SMT game (besides, P2: 2 and Soul Hackers 2). I keep holding out a tacit hope that the next Persona will finally give us another one. Despite it being as depressing as it is, P3P was the most comfortable Persona to me because of her. Also, awesome run! Would you perhaps consider doing a challenge run in Bravely Default (the very first one)? Like, no using the Brave/Default mechanic?
Just got into p3p, Didn't realize that solo run with one persona was possible 😳. Now I am excited to try using only one persona too. Next challenge run idea, solo with indirect damage skills only ( counter/repel/debuffs) 😉

First time I played P3P I beat the game with only Lilim, was my first persona game and just found using the game arcade to boost stats was broken as hell, then again I did almost no social links

A possible challenge run idea: Items only. Though that seems rather difficult, especially in the early game. Though I heard the inventory limit is around 300.
@RPGchallengeruns Yea, I'm not sure about the item starting situation in each game. Though, I believe P5R has a battle bundle dlc that has an item and healing item pack for 10 USD. I heard it went free recently, but I'm not sure if it still is. That's if you find the use of dlc like this acceptable.
P3 is my fav game of all time, however I dont think it needs a full remake, P1 is a much better candidate for a remake. This remaster should have brought back the 3d exploration with the female character too and the possibility to use any kind of weapon like the vanilla version, it was strategically awesome.
Honest to goodness this was a fun watch. Its just a shame we just got a port of the game instead of a proper remaster with FES content and Portable content combined for an ultimate final cut of P3
Thank God I find someone as mentally insane as me to try a MC solo run with one persona only. As my goat Akihiko says "I've been waiting for this!" I picked the Male MC and go with Orpheus Solo run
Great run but I do recommend doing a similar run orpheus only without fusion it is possible and very hard but if you play it right you can break through it
I wish they remade Fes so that we can play as best girl Aigis. But, I know why they used the psp version, beside FeMc it also has the skill cards which makes it much easier for new comers.
Now that I’ve thought about it isn’t Strega technically doing the right thing by trying to kill the party since they’re trying to stop them from beating the bosses
I would’ve preferred FES. I really missed the in-game and animated cutscenes while playing through portable, I feel like they give persona 3 much more personality. The only good thing about portable was being able to play as a female and get better social links as a result.
To answer the question about which game I would’ve rather gotten the remaster, FES or portable, I actually am happy they chose portable because a lot of people don’t understand how archaic FES can feel, it really doesn’t feel good to play with all of the old mechanics that are just outdated now, like not being able to control other party members and arcana reversal. True, Portable is a downgrade in some cases, not having the answer is unfortunate and honestly cutscenes should have been added back into the remaster, but portable adds in a lot of content too, such as Femc’s entire route and I believe the vision quest with Margaret, not to mention Theo as a character. Femc route alone is worth portable over Fes for me as it really does wonders for certain party members as all the male party members got social links in femc’s route only.
Before anyone asks, yes I have played FES and yes I was able to play it just fine. But the P4-styled mechanical update in P3P just makes it more enjoyable honestly. Miss the cut scenes? The community is making mods to add them back into portable so just get the PC version if you want them. Femc also made me love the game way more but that may be because playing as Male characters is hard for me sometimes. The answer was a great story but the gameplay was only Tartarus for a few hours so actually I recommend watching a play through on it anyway even if you do play FES.
Yeah I totally agree that Portable adds a lot of gameplay improvements. I think people prefer FES for immersion/story though. A hybrid would have been amazing!
Me personally i would love a persona 3 fes remake, but realistically will never happen. however persona 6 will obviously happen eventually as the series is basically a huge success for Altus.
At 28:13 the drink “Moonkist” is supposed to be a knockoff of the drink “Sunkist” Anyways this was a very enjoyable challenge to watch since I had trouble even beating the game with a full party lol

Honestly, whenever I play this game it just devolves into me making Orpheus incredibly powerful, which I attribute to just how much stats actually matter in damage calculations, as with around 90 magic my Orpheus with agilao and tarukaja was out damaging Mitsuru with mind charge and bufula during the hermit full moon shadow.
@@namieblinker5922 just searched it up and for the 3 original persona 3 games it’s 2x, although SMT games apparently like to swap between 2.5x and 2x depending on the game so it could be either or, but out damaging the party member with the second highest magic with double damage using only tarukaja as a buff is still impressive

However, for some reason, you can do a triple fusion that results in Orpheus Telos if you meet the requirements, in which case Orpheus Telos is also a valid result from Fusion Accidents

Moonkist is a knockoff of Sunkist. I refer to it as a "chip shop drink", one of those drinks that takeaways have which you barely see in actual shops. Bit of an odd choice considering the other two popular ones lol. Great run as always :)
I just wished that they put more effort in remastering P3 portable like making the exploration outside of dungeons like the original. If they undid some of the other disadvantages of the game being designed for the psp it would've been a lot better

I'm definitely glad that P3P got remastered. So many of the quality of life changes that were added are really great, and the extra main character alone is worth it. They should have done a better job with a lot of things though. I had to install a mod to fix the audio, and they could have remastered FES to add a lot of the things P3P added. There is a mod that has just been released that brings back the anime cutscenes, which is another thing Atlus could have easily done. I would certainly be open top a full P3FES remake, but I think the hardcore FES fans do vastly overstate the value FES has over P3P. IMO the biggest thing that P3P is missing is the visual gags during the Elizabeth dates and similar sections.
In regards to the cutscenes, it wouldn't make sense to have them because there is no femC version and they would never have spent the money on animating new ones for a remaster. The mod you mention is virtually useless to me for example as I only play as femC. And yeah, FES diehards tend to just focus on the wrong things. Slight graphic and sound fidelity do not make up for all the quality of life improvements in the combat and The Answer is _terrible_ , so it can't even hold a candle to the content femC added to the game. The writing in femC's campagin is just plain superior to maleC's, not to mention The Answer's trashfire.

The only thing I don't like in portable is that fusion spells are craftable consumables instead of just skills. I like FES mainly because of P3P's visual novel style of the overworld exploration, but that just comes to personal taste, I absolutely respect P3P fans.
Technically Officer Kurosawa is only selling weapons to the SEES members. I was always fine with that explanation but what bugged me was where the sweet, tasty hell is he getting his inventory?! Especially _literal android parts_ for Aegis. As far as P3P vs FES, I like that they went with P3P. Even though you're loosing anime scenes and exploration but being able to control the party and the FeMC makes it totally worth playing. Running around gets a little tedious 60+ hours in anyway.
This was an amazing run to watch! Was quite satisfying to see you get through this game with Angel. Would love to see a “no new skills” run of this game and persona 5 at some point, would be interesting to see how you compensate for that, especially in P3P where your skills are more limited.
Love this channel. So why didn't they remake FES? Because the engine Persona 3, FES and 4 were made on, RenderWare, is mostly gone and what's left is owned by Electronic Arts. P3P and P4G are on different engines. They had to completely rebuild Nocturne for the HD remaster.
Last I heard EA would honor any licenses to former RenderWare clients. Though the engine never got an official Nintendo Switch port and I'm not sure how good the PS4 and Xbox One ports of RenderWare are so it makes sense that Atlus didn't bother.
I'm guessing this is why others I head about this from said that P3FES was a spaghetti code nightmare and not suitable for a remaster as it would likely have taken a lot more time and cost a lot more money to rebuild P3FES in a more modern engine (although considering the issues I've seen as well as what happened in this video it looks like this was a rushed out the door port littered with more bugs then the PSP version and I've played the PSP version to completion with no bugs at all).
Jack Frost is suprisingly in a better position than a lot of other personas in the series. If an Orpheus only run is possible, lil hee-ho can totally do it.
Interestingly enough. I did a run with only the first three demons you find in SMT3 and I had a better time with my Pixie, Shikigami and Will-o-wisp team than teams I spent hours making. Now I wanna do a pixie only run on persona 5 😂

If you ever do another challenge run for this game like this, I'd suggest going for the pralaya skill card from Shiva as its the strongest physical move in the game with some crazy crit chance. Megidoloan is also obtainable for magic coverage along with power/magic charge for some real overkill which you can also get through cards but you might want other skills with only one persona. Congrats on the win tho!
3:12 the cop explains it to you at the start of the game. He's not selling weapons to the general public. He's selling them to the sees members to help the persona users fight shadows and is using the money to help replace the equipment he sells to the kids. He even acknoweledges he's not suppose to give high schoolers weapons but he is making an exception. He was actually promoted to a detective in persona 4 arena precisely for selling the sees team weapons.
P3P definitely has the best combat and having a second protagonist allowed for a lot more story and character development. But fes has the best exploration. If they’d add the p3p stuff into fes it would be best.
Now that P3Reload is announced I am happy that Portable was ported instead of FES as Reload basically makes FES reduntant. Portable remains relevant because of FeMC. Also the plural of gigas (giant) is gigantes :D
so coming here after the announcement of the remake of p3 im glad portable got remastered, i understand fes has the whole answer and understanding of what actually happened, but i just think the femc has better overall social links to the male mc, the strength, moon, and various other social links being good examples i dont blame them or think the male route is bad, bur you can tell the clear improvements there in portable vs regular male mcs routes

Gale slash skill is useful, it's non element but multiple attack, you can get card gale slash from demon called shiisaa, you need level up to get gale slash
Persona 3 FES is probably the inferior version in some ways but so is Portable. Also I genuinely wasn't expecting to like these videos but when has my first impressions been right?! 🤣 Seriously these videos are better than I expect
I like that they ported P3P if not only for the femc, I wish they’d kept that option in the game in future titles but I get why there isn’t one because of the amount of development time that would add.
I'm really glad we got portable purely because of how much better Kotone is as a protagonist compared to her male counterpart she's a lot more chipper and she feels much more like the charismatic leader who helps brings SEES together. She also has much better Social links IMO (Saori is a series highlight for me) and is generally just a much more interesting character. It also helps to have a female lead to relate to (definitely biased there tho, lol)
Yeah Kotone feels more P4-esque (happier, cheery) so I suppose it's down to personal preference. Personally I enjoy both versions of P3 equally but it's great to hear different people's views on this!
Some people do indeed still call girls "man" and "dude" in real life as it's just a part of how they talk. Some girls even call other girls "dude" to a much lesser extent. Could they have gotten lazy though? Dunno.
Which game I’d have liked remastered is a loaded question because each game has its good points and it’s bad points. I’d much prefer they took the good parts of both games (animated cutscenes, The Reason, controllable party members, and FeMC) and put it all into one game! P3P!!! Also Female protagonist is best protag. I always love the personality of the games having teenagers trained in various deadly weapons before the end of high school.

I would’ve preferred FES. I really missed the in-game and animated cutscenes while playing through portable, I feel like they give persona 3 much more personality. The only good thing about portable was being able to play as a female and get better social links as a result.

To answer the question about which game I would’ve rather gotten the remaster, FES or portable, I actually am happy they chose portable because a lot of people don’t understand how archaic FES can feel, it really doesn’t feel good to play with all of the old mechanics that are just outdated now, like not being able to control other party members and arcana reversal. True, Portable is a downgrade in some cases, not having the answer is unfortunate and honestly cutscenes should have been added back into the remaster, but portable adds in a lot of content too, such as Femc’s entire route and I believe the vision quest with Margaret, not to mention Theo as a character. Femc route alone is worth portable over Fes for me as it really does wonders for certain party members as all the male party members got social links in femc’s route only.
Before anyone asks, yes I have played FES and yes I was able to play it just fine. But the P4-styled mechanical update in P3P just makes it more enjoyable honestly. Miss the cut scenes? The community is making mods to add them back into portable so just get the PC version if you want them.
Femc also made me love the game way more but that may be because playing as Male characters is hard for me sometimes.
The answer was a great story but the gameplay was only Tartarus for a few hours so actually I recommend watching a play through on it anyway even if you do play FES.
Yeah I totally agree that Portable adds a lot of gameplay improvements. I think people prefer FES for immersion/story though. A hybrid would have been amazing!

Honestly, whenever I play this game it just devolves into me making Orpheus incredibly powerful, which I attribute to just how much stats actually matter in damage calculations, as with around 90 magic my Orpheus with agilao and tarukaja was out damaging Mitsuru with mind charge and bufula during the hermit full moon shadow.
@@jackwinch6097 I've heard that mind charge and power charge damage multipliers were handicapped in P3P, like 1.9x instead of 2.5x, is that true?
@@namieblinker5922 just searched it up and for the 3 original persona 3 games it’s 2x, although SMT games apparently like to swap between 2.5x and 2x depending on the game so it could be either or, but out damaging the party member with the second highest magic with double damage using only tarukaja as a buff is still impressive

I just wished that they put more effort in remastering P3 portable like making the exploration outside of dungeons like the original. If they undid some of the other disadvantages of the game being designed for the psp it would've been a lot better

I'm definitely glad that P3P got remastered. So many of the quality of life changes that were added are really great, and the extra main character alone is worth it.
They should have done a better job with a lot of things though. I had to install a mod to fix the audio, and they could have remastered FES to add a lot of the things P3P added. There is a mod that has just been released that brings back the anime cutscenes, which is another thing Atlus could have easily done.
I would certainly be open top a full P3FES remake, but I think the hardcore FES fans do vastly overstate the value FES has over P3P. IMO the biggest thing that P3P is missing is the visual gags during the Elizabeth dates and similar sections.
In regards to the cutscenes, it wouldn't make sense to have them because there is no femC version and they would never have spent the money on animating new ones for a remaster. The mod you mention is virtually useless to me for example as I only play as femC.
And yeah, FES diehards tend to just focus on the wrong things. Slight graphic and sound fidelity do not make up for all the quality of life improvements in the combat and The Answer is _terrible_ , so it can't even hold a candle to the content femC added to the game. The writing in femC's campagin is just plain superior to maleC's, not to mention The Answer's trashfire.

The only thing I don't like in portable is that fusion spells are craftable consumables instead of just skills. I like FES mainly because of P3P's visual novel style of the overworld exploration, but that just comes to personal taste, I absolutely respect P3P fans.
Technically Officer Kurosawa is only selling weapons to the SEES members. I was always fine with that explanation but what bugged me was where the sweet, tasty hell is he getting his inventory?! Especially _literal android parts_ for Aegis.
As far as P3P vs FES, I like that they went with P3P. Even though you're loosing anime scenes and exploration but being able to control the party and the FeMC makes it totally worth playing. Running around gets a little tedious 60+ hours in anyway.

So why didn't they remake FES? Because the engine Persona 3, FES and 4 were made on, RenderWare, is mostly gone and what's left is owned by Electronic Arts. P3P and P4G are on different engines. They had to completely rebuild Nocturne for the HD remaster.

Last I heard EA would honor any licenses to former RenderWare clients. Though the engine never got an official Nintendo Switch port and I'm not sure how good the PS4 and Xbox One ports of RenderWare are so it makes sense that Atlus didn't bother.
I'm guessing this is why others I head about this from said that P3FES was a spaghetti code nightmare and not suitable for a remaster as it would likely have taken a lot more time and cost a lot more money to rebuild P3FES in a more modern engine (although considering the issues I've seen as well as what happened in this video it looks like this was a rushed out the door port littered with more bugs then the PSP version and I've played the PSP version to completion with no bugs at all).
Watching these has inspired to take really weak Personas and make them OP. I did that with Izanagi and I plan to do it to Slime and Jack Frost.

Jack Frost is suprisingly in a better position than a lot of other personas in the series. If an Orpheus only run is possible, lil hee-ho can totally do it.
Interestingly enough. I did a run with only the first three demons you find in SMT3 and I had a better time with my Pixie, Shikigami and Will-o-wisp team than teams I spent hours making. Now I wanna do a pixie only run on persona 5 😂

If you ever do another challenge run for this game like this, I'd suggest going for the pralaya skill card from Shiva as its the strongest physical move in the game with some crazy crit chance. Megidoloan is also obtainable for magic coverage along with power/magic charge for some real overkill which you can also get through cards but you might want other skills with only one persona. Congrats on the win tho!

3:12 the cop explains it to you at the start of the game. He's not selling weapons to the general public. He's selling them to the sees members to help the persona users fight shadows and is using the money to help replace the equipment he sells to the kids. He even acknoweledges he's not suppose to give high schoolers weapons but he is making an exception. He was actually promoted to a detective in persona 4 arena precisely for selling the sees team weapons.

P3P definitely has the best combat and having a second protagonist allowed for a lot more story and character development. But fes has the best exploration. If they’d add the p3p stuff into fes it would be best.

I like that they ported P3P if not only for the femc, I wish they’d kept that option in the game in future titles but I get why there isn’t one because of the amount of development time that would add.
That's a good point, development time is tight especially considering they're likely busy creating Persona 6 right now.
I'm really glad we got portable purely because of how much better Kotone is as a protagonist compared to her male counterpart she's a lot more chipper and she feels much more like the charismatic leader who helps brings SEES together. She also has much better Social links IMO (Saori is a series highlight for me) and is generally just a much more interesting character. It also helps to have a female lead to relate to (definitely biased there tho, lol)
The problem is that the femc completely goes against everything P3 is about though.

Which game I’d have liked remastered is a loaded question because each game has its good points and it’s bad points. I’d much prefer they took the good parts of both games (animated cutscenes, The Reason, controllable party members, and FeMC) and put it all into one game!
