YES! There are NOT enough CC challenges! Thank yooooou!!! Oh and one teeny thing. You’re 100% right about Tonberries, slash and dodge, but if you dry to dodge to their backs and stay to their tail end, you’ll also dodge Karma. Suuuper helpful later since damage scales, but if you run or dodge to behind them and stay still, let Karma play out, 85% of the time you’ll completely avoid any damage throughout the entire fight. It takes a little practice, and is much harder when fighting multiple at once, but it could really save you if you need it. Hope that helps someone out there!
Holy crap, this was insane to watch. I remember seeing other UA-camrs struggle with this game, and they were playing the game normally. You weren't kidding about difficulty spikes, too. I hope the next RPG challenge doesn't take you this many hours to get to the end!
Pre video: there’s a good chance you might be able to beat the game, depending on your slot luck… but 0% chance you can do a majority of the missions. Post video: good job! Can’t believe you spent 10 hours grinding for the last boss! Most people would have just said it was impossible. Definitely going to check out the rest of your channel now!
Genesis uses summon materia against Zack as means to distract him and get away. Summons in FFVII drag you into their own pocket dimensions and attack you. Zack gets dragged in, but kicks the summons ass and then he's kicked out of the dimension.
Idk, Hell House would be pretty rough without magic. Which, fun fact btw, Aerith's "physical attacks" are based off her magic stat, so that might make that challenge a little murky to start with.

Ah, just yesterday I checked your channel looking to make sure I hadn't missed the latest adventures of my favourite Patience Elemental. Considering how easy this game can be to trivialise if you know what to farm, this is a very interesting take on the game and very fun to watch play out. GG my man another game defeated in another wildly unfeasible way.
@@RPGchallengeruns Already watched it yesterday lol. I blazed thru the rest of the game. I'm gonna use your setup to beat the final boss on Hard since I tried it yesterday and had to give up lol
You do level up by hitting an exp threshold. Every monster in the game gives you exp. As soon as you level up with the next few turns you will always get a 777. You are never shown how much xp you have or how much xp is needed to level or how much monsters give you. It can only be found by looking up a list that people data mined from the game. But ya you can grind xp.
I appreciate your commitment to getting this vid out on time, even when you’re seriously debuffed. I’d cast Curaga on you if I could, but I’m a Black Mage…I’d probably end up killing you if I tried. 😟
While it is technically random, the DMW is designed to increase the 777 level-up chance the more enemies you defeat. It is practically impossible to do the 1000 Shinra grunts mission _without_ leveling up several times.
Another wonderful piece thank you for making the day just better all round with as always a most entertaining video ( sorry for the pain it caused you ) thanks so much for putting so much effort into all these vids for us your a champ!

Great video, thank you for your hardwork and suffering for these challenges! Glad the 20+ hours of grinding didn't take away from the fun of the game 😆
7:09 It is *sort of* explained why the Summon fights exist the way they do. After the Bahamut fight, Zack shouts: “Summons aren’t supposed to be used like this!” hinting that they’re only supposed to be used as one-off attacks like in the original ff7, but Genesis is abusing them. Not super clear but I hope it wraps your head around it 😂
Thanks, yeah it seems like Genesis is spawning them in somehow, but it's never really explained. I'm still convinced an executive just told the devs to "INCLUDE SUMMONS!" at the last minute and they were like "uuuhhhhhh...." 🤣
Unless the remake has changed how level up works, leveling up in CC was never luck / gacha based - rather, the games tracks your experience points from fights won and when you achieve certain thresholds, you may "luck out" a level up, based on your current level and the "potential level" given by the exp accumulated. Zack's chance of leveling isn't actually "random"; the higher the difference from the potential level is from his current, the more likely the level up will show up, in a "weighted DMW result". Thus, exp is accounted for; we're just never shown how much do we have or need for these thresholds.
I played this shit on psp eu version and i had 20 hours more then a friend of mine and he had double the level then i was. Game is fine but like every ff there are some flaws, this is by far the worst exp system one can imagine… so yeah unless it aint fact checked i call bullshit on level up not being random af.

See, the summons exist for a very complicated reason that requires many hundreds of hours of intensive study to understand. After all my research and writing a graduate thesis on the subject, I will detail my findings below. **Ahem** Because Final Fantasy.
Correction on the DMW: You do level up reaching a specific EXP threshold. Technically. There are numeric exp requirements for the DMW to roll the 777. The more you go over a specific threshold, the higher the chances to roll the Level up. Let's say that you have 87 exp and need 90 to level up from 5 to 6. Once you reach 90 exp, the game starts to fish for the 777 roll. I don't remember the exact numbers, but let's say the base chance is 10%. If you reach 100 exp and didn't hit the roll, the chance increases to 12%, 110 goes to 14% and so on. Of course, you could reach 200 EXP (required for level 7) and still haven't hit the 777. This could easily get into a double 777 roll because you hit the previous roll for level 6 and the base 10% for level 7 in a roll. I think gamefaqs has a more indepth faq about the DMW chances and mechanics.
Feels like you couldve made these fights a lot easier using equipment from quest reqards and grinding levels in the base trainer. Since levels are determined by the DMV, you couldve put on your best defensive equipment that nullified the soldiers attacks, taped down the guard button, and left the game running overnight in order to let the DMV run on its own. You can reasonably get 10-20 levels over the course of a few hours even with shitty luck
Theres actually a hidden EXP counter that determines when the DMW is "allowed" to roll 777 and how often, so you do still have to defeat things to level up unfortunately
Since you got stuck on your Dragon Quest 11 run with only party members attacking, did you plan on trying the same challenge again, but allow the MC to be on AI control as well? Considering it’s luck-based, you’re going to have a rough time resetting over and over to dodge level ups and (if you’re playing the original) limit breaks.
First of all, you maybe don't know, but in the first chapter you can check the items you can collect up to 20 times, and after that, you will get a cursed ring, which buffs your stats for good in early game, even if you can't use the DMW Second of all, why not investing time to bring Proficiency up to 100% by doing Mission 1-1-1?
