- WARNING: Sad News to start this weeks VLOG. But after that is just wet and windy in the gardening world. The hens are going back into avian flu lockdown so we give them a last good run around. The swing seat gets put away for winder and we harvest some Jerusalem artichokes that have blown over in the wind.
There is also Pumpkin Soup made with red split lentils and Uchiku Kuri winter squash.

Jessie it's ok to cry, Ani was a beautiful loving cat. I have 3 of them that are all rescued, Spirit is my Burmese, Sherlock is my Tuxedo and Watson is my Turkish Van. Spirit is the oldest and is sooooo loving and adorable. So I know soon it will be my turn.
I saw the love Ani received from you and the love given back. You are a blessing and such a beautiful soul.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have a male kitty that is that sweet, almost lost him to a hawks when he was small. Broken pelvis and leg, vet did he'd never walk and would lose his leg. However he fully recovered, he's just 2 now. Bless you for your love for Ani, beautiful kitty.
Very sad news, Ani was such a little character but you did the kindest thing you could. Losing a much loved pet is the sadest thing but I'm sure you will treasure all of the memories. So sorry for your loss 😢

Anything I say probably will not take away the sadness. People never seem to understand the love and affection people have towards their pets unless they have had one that has meant as much to them as Annekin obviously meant to you. My best wishes to you and family. Very sad about all the loved friends you have lost during the series of Vlogs.

I actually love rain, though cold less so. The garden stuff looked lovely. We have a bit of cold, soggy weather here as well. I left some of my shade sails up, because they protect a bit against mild cold, but I can see the winter coming.
Very sorry to hear about Ani. I am sure you did the best for him.
We recently lost my younger brother and my best friend lost her father. It has been a rotten couple months. I still watch my cat to make sure he is still finding joy in life. He still naps in his favorite spots and enjoys the warmth of the sun.

oh darling,im so sorry for your loss x way back in 1982 we had a kitten that was so wonderful,she used to come on walks with us,at 9 months old she gave birth to 3 babes in our bed and we still live the warm memories of her .Shes passed at 14 years old.God bless XXX

When I make pumpkin soup, it's basically vegetable soup with pumpkin and canned milk added. Then blended smooth.

Jessie I was so saddened when I heard about Annekin. Our girls we're with us until they were about 18 but it was still heart-breaking when they left us within 6 months of each other. I feel your pain and your sadness but the hurting does eventually subside. Your strength at the start of this video is amazing, I'm not sure I could have done the same. Even though there's really nothing we can say to make you feel better, myself and Margaret are here thinking about you and sending our love to help you to be strong.

We have 2 rescue hens and have been in avian lockdown already for a few weeks. We’ve rigged up some netting over our old garden arches just so they have an area to scratch. I couldn’t bear to keep them cooped up for months.
Sorry for your loss, just remember if you hadn't taken him under your wing 14 years ago, he would have been long gone

So sorry about your beloved Ani. It’s always distressing to have to give the thumbs down, but you made the right decision for him.
I cried along with you in the beginning of the vlog. I am so sorry for the loss of Ani. I am also having to assess the future of one of my old cat ladies, she is failing but still seems happy. It's good to escape into the polytunnel! I have to take out the last of the tomatoes, they were an experiment, I planted some seeds from Jaxx tomatoes I bought in Lidl. They grew fantastic, loads of lovely vines, evenly spaced - but they never got past the "orange colour" stage and stayed hard. Not one ripened! My (unsubstantiated) theory is that they were bred not to ripen on the plant but need a certain "gassing" to look perfect for the supermarket shelves
Oh Jessie, I'm so sorry. I read once that we know when it's time to say goodbye when their misery becomes greater than our reluctance to let them go. My thoughts & sympathies are with you.
