- Very exciting day on Jon's Moto Garage! Today we picked up our second death tra- I mean Yamaha FZ09 (Fz-09) since the channel has been live. I really enjoyed the last one and am stoked to get my hands on another one of these hooligan machines! This happened to be a co-worker's boyfriend who finally decided to sell the moto and hang up his helmet! He was kind enough to hook me up with all his extra gear as well.

Hahaha...I think Mike and I misrepresented his gf (for dramatic effect :). She's actually super cool and didn't really force his hand in the matter (that's why they get along so well). In their case it was really more of a mutual decision/compromise. He's an avid mountain biker and hadn't been getting out on the moto as much. Unfortunately I know that's not the case for everyone though. My wife prefers I not ride but knows it'll always be a part of the lifestyle. Lol. Thanks for watching and ride safe!

Nice bike..I am a bit surprised with all the mods he did it did not include an aftermarket exhaust...I know stock is good but most guys like a louder sound.

@@JonsMotoGarage I got the bike man, absolutely love it. I have a question though, seeing how I've never owned a bike like this. The rear brake pedal is odd to get too and is kind of angled in towards the bike. Is this normal?
NICE! Congrats on the new bike! I'm jealous! Hahaha. Hmmm...I don't recall the fz09 rear brake position feeling awkward at all. But I've ridden a handful of naked bikes and sport bikes. One thing that always gets me (with sport bikes especially) is that they feel a bit cramped initially if it's been a while and I'm coming from a cruiser. I wonder if that's what it is. It should be apparent if the piece itself has been bent or tweaked somehow. I'm assuming you looked it over pretty good? Any indication that it may have been tipped at some point? I don't imagine that would be the case because there would be more obvious indications you'd spot first. If I still had mine sitting in the garage I'd go sit on it and see. Lol. Nice wheelie at the begining of the video but i have not seen the throttle modulation?! What, you just used rear break to keep it near balance point?
Thanks, brotha! I was still chasing it out, wasn't quite at balance point. Nice thing on these is second gear can take you from 12 - 70 mph +! Lol. Yeah, minimal throttle, nearly all slight taps on the rear brake. I'm still very much a newbie (was more so when this vid was shot).

The fz09 is smooth as butter! Felt like I was still going 20. Lol. Someday ill6learn to really balance it out. But the chase is fun too!

It's such a fun bike! The last one I had was tuned with full exhaust and was still super twitchy. I don't know if this beast can be tamed. Lol.
Those Michelin tires are the worst i have ever ridden on in my life. i took them off barely used and threw them away. Didnt even want to give them to someone. Pirellis have the best compound.

Which ramps do you use?
They're big boy ramps. 10x3. I picked em up used for like $350 about 5 yrs ago. Here's a vid I did with loading/unloading using the ramps.

I think I paid $4500 for everything. I did a follow up video after selling the bike. Still use the wheel chock and helmets. 👌💯
@@JonsMotoGarage Thats a killer deal man. I cannot decide between the 700 an the 900. My commute to work is windy, and about 40 miles with the speed limit never over 55. I weigh about 200lbs and have been riding bikes for a while. Any recommendations? I do love the sound of the 7. But that seems a funny reason to choose one over the other. Appreciate it brother!

@@thomasknapp7236 is would go with the 900 from the higher speeds/commute. The 700 feels very unstable at higher speeds imo. 💯
