Yamaha FZ09 Wrecked Bike Rebuild (Slow Wreck)

  • I purchased a FZ09 that was laid down that had minimal damage on it (yeah, yeah I know its hardly considered a "wrecked bike" but for title purposes it is.) It was leaking oil and coolant out of the stator cover (which had holes in both) and a large dent in the tank and did a general clean up on the bike cause it was sitting out in the weather for a while and a lot of parts got damaged from the slide. All new and used parts I purchased were off Ebay, and repair work on tank and fairings was myself but, I paid a professional to paint.

    Another awesome revival - looks amazing - absolutely love watching your "no nonsense" approach to these products - totally inspiring - wish we had more like you in the UK - thank you for sharing!

    You're a competent rider, handy with that TIG welder of yours and able to take on/repair the more complicated modern motorcycles. I like that. Wish I had your skills...

    Bro, I really enjoy your videos, all of them, you inspired me, to sell my first motorcycle, and use the money to buy a wrecked motorcycle, take my tools and begin my dream, keep it up bro, cheers and blesses.

    Wow, what a great job you did! I usually hate white bikes, but you sure made it work on this project. Your attention to detail and upgrades along the way really made this a great project. I really appreciate seeing someone making something better than it was ever before instead of just throwing it out and getting something new. Ride it with pride!

    Great job dude. Nice to see someone with some actual welding skills and the patience to repair things. Only tip would be to buy yourself a decent soldering iron and remember that solder should flow where you want it , you shouldn't have to push it . Other than that really enjoyed the video CHeers

    considering doing the same . would love to know cost of bike and supplies. how much did you save? where you found cheapest parts etc...

    • @Benjamminoutdoors
      @Benjamminoutdoors  4 роки тому

      The biggest thing that killed me was paying someone else to get it painted which was a huge mistake( i’ve just recently started painting myself) but eBay is where I get all my new and used parts from unless someone happens to be parting out the same bike in the area. And this is all assuming you can get the bike for the right price cause then you can save a lot, you always have to take into account unexpected costs Because they’re always is something that pops up after you think you got all the stuff you needed.

    Great content man, love your channel! I am looking to start back rebuilding bikes myself. What sources are you using to find these wrecked bikes? Do you have a price range you stick to when searching for these rebuildable bikes?

    • @Benjamminoutdoors
      @Benjamminoutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks bro! And mostly FB marketplace or Craigslist and not really I just calculate the value in pristine condition, price all the parts it does and could need, give myself a nice profit margins then basically see what I’m left over with and offer that.
