    I used to eat pork. Then I fell in love with some pigs as pets. I can no longer even look at pork flesh and not get ill. How can you still eat pork?

      It’s delicious. It is much harder (but easier in some ways) when you raise it yourself. My pigs have a great life…only bad day is castration day and butcher day.

    That is only a " mini pig " if you think a Great Dane puppy is a " mini dog " There is no such animal as a " miniature pig " a fraud to sell piglets that when grow to normal weight are then dumped in shelters by fools. Steve is a very cute piglet, looks like a Kunekune..? smallest breed in the world apparently.?

    • @CopperheadRoadHomestead
      @CopperheadRoadHomestead  3 роки тому +8

      There are different breeds that are smaller, but they can all get very large. I think he has some kune in him.
      When I have sold “mini” pigs in the past, I’ve always insisted that they see the parents, so they have more of an idea about what size they’ll grow to be.

    Hi I recently got a pig she’s a few months old but she always squeals for no reason and she doesn’t let me pick her up and she kicks and squeals when I do that have you got any tips to make her more tame or so I can pick her up

    Hi! I've watch some of your videos lately and they seem really informational! I have 2, 5 day old piglets that are being bottle fed because their mother passed away while giving birth. They are unsure about touches and HATE being picked up, any tips tricks recommendations or advice? I'm also looking for a harness for a pig, any suggestions? Thanks!

    • @CopperheadRoadHomestead
      @CopperheadRoadHomestead  4 роки тому +3

      There are two schools of thought. 1. Just be patient with them and they’ll come around. 2. Just pick them up and touch them even though they don’t like it...they’ll get used to it. I subscribe to picking them up even though they don’t like it. You have to endure the squealing, but eventually they get used to it!

    • @CopperheadRoadHomestead
      @CopperheadRoadHomestead  4 роки тому +3

      As far as harnesses go, pigs are shaped differently than dogs. I don’t think you can use a dog harness. I bet you can find someone that will sell a pig harness online.

    I like methods, you're using, when training. And I think, it's right that you sometimes doing them things they don't likes, to let them know, who's the boss. Because it's like with our children. They also have to know, who's they're parents and most of they're lives, they will not have, what they want, but we still love them. J
