The Odisea 48 from Odisea Catamarans has just started to get built in Vietnam. The design is complete, the paperwork has been done and now the factory has had 4 days to start the job and they are welding like madmen. Finally the wait is over, the Elcano World Challenge will begin in 2024 people.

The coating is important, needs to protect, but can’t add allot of weight. Was that a consideration in the meetings? It’s fun being involved in the different aspects in manufacturing isn’t it?! That’s what kept my interest in engineering for the past 35 yrs!

When I was a tourist in Vietnam, 25 years ago, I couldn't get over how people would be literally running down the road in the countryside just going to their farms or the market.

Ah, the paperwork (It's 2024 and the world still runs on paper) gotta love that. That factory is has an amazing amount of space. Gigantic start to describe it. Peter is getting his own "special" paint, whoa, who would have thought!

That boat is going to have some life. Busy anchorages are busy because most cruising boats draw 6feet. However if you can float on a wet lawn youll have it all to yourself . You can beach this boat and walk to the pub. Between pubs she wont hang around. I think this design is a game changer. The factory is positively Swiss in its professionalism. Top stuff.

I worked on a project for 3 months at sea shipping container factory, an hour south of Hanoi. They took their smoko pretty seriously there too Plucky

My parents bought a Taiwanese trawler in the late 80’s. It was beautifully finished and built. The woodwork was amazing.
