I love that statement about GW2 being a theme park that plays like a sandbox. Yes, this is exactly what i love about it but never could put it in words. My mmo days started way back in Ultima Online and I have yet to find gameplay as enjoyable as that was. I'd log on everyday and just be like 'Now what do I feel like doing today?' without being forced to progress through some narrow tunnel. I've tried other sandbox games since then but i think only Star Wars Galaxies came close. For a theme park mmo I do feel that sense of freedom here in GW2.
oh and great tips video. i'd also add that training that one springer mastery that shares the rabbit's ability to fall with less damage with other mounts is also great quality of life, especially before the flying mounts.
Yeah when I heard Doc say that one day I was like "damn... that's it right there". I was lucky personally. Sometimes we never get past our first MMO and the way it captures us but Gw2 really grabbed me and never let me go. I never really got into sandboxes because I personally prize the narrative as part of any MMO. Tried Eve, tried a couple others, but at their core there was a sense that if you hadn't been there since launch you could never keep up. BDO had some sandbox elements I really liked, unfortunately the community and the predatory monetization killed that for me.
I have to say that this is the first reference to my favorite mmo game, Ultimate Online. And GW2 is the best game since playing UO. Thanks for the memory!
Yup that's what I'm working on right now. Finished all the collections now all i gotta do is level up the masteries. Took less than a week which was surprising
great video! There is soo much content and as a returning player I often have confusion of choice. This helps a lot with short term goals, thank you :)
Honorable mention in my view is the core tyria mastery point track for fractals in particular the one that ups amount of loot found in the encryptions. I also find the ability to repair in fractals very useful for tougher fractals. When you are 80 and did everything on the maps you will eventually try to do the fractals daily for gold and more loot is a plus. Fractal Attunement in my view is a very good thing to focus on if want to spend any time in fractals.
If you think of raiding in the future, you will need Ley Line Gliding, so it's worth to invest in gliding masteries anyway. Advanced Logistic id superusefull in zerg farming scenarios, no need to spam F, I love it!
I believe the setting that unlocks from advanced logistics is actually the Quick Interact one. I got confused because I don't have the mastery yet but I've been using autopickup since shortly after launch (returning player).
@@MindOverMeta Hey - just stumbled across this video, appreciate it! You are however, indeed wrong. Autopickup is the option to loot all items by default (no need for a second input between an individual item or all). Quick Interact is the one tied to Advanced Logistics. If you want I can snag you a screenshot, it says it directly in the tooltip.
@@MindOverMeta I think I'm going to make an adorable female Asura thief, since I'm not into roleplaying as a humanoid female character (not that there is anything wrong with that, lol). Anyhow, there is so much to learn about this game to get ahead on gold, almost painful. Thank you for your guides.
Auto loot was easily my favorite of all. Not even close. Everything else is so secondary- esp when running metas. This was soooo noticeable when playing with my wifes character.
Well, I finally ran a character through all of Season 2 and then ground out some other points and I finally have autoloot. Life is gooder, much more gooder.
Hello, i would love for you to make a video on how to get the masterie points to level up all the mounts, specially from the easiest maseteir points to the hardest ones.
this is actually a bit of a troll build I use in wvw. if you want a proper pve rev build there are three in the open world playlist. that said if you still want this one I would be glad to hook you up later tonight when I get home.
@@MindOverMeta If it's wvw then no. I am looking for strictly open world build. You if have such a build in your arsenal, I would be grateful if you share
Thanks for the video!. One question..is it worth it to lvl up the essence manipulation masteries to tier 4? Or with tier 2 is enough to open de chests?
Starting out drop everything into Tyria Mastery> Pact Commander > Advanced Logistics #1 First top tier to get. Hands down the best one. When you are in a Zerg group you don't have time to run over F, run over F, spamming F all the time. Kill and go!

@@richardcurrier3305 why oh why won't they bring us Ultima 2?!
If you're looking for pure quality of life, prioritise unlocking the skyscale and getting it's masteries. Everything becomes really easy after that.
I was about a week into starting the game and seen people flying i was like i need this! I was right to do that.

You may want to check. Pretty sure the info I gave is correct. I just tested. If I am indeed wrong please let me know

That character is so damn adorable you've convinced me to create an alt with that race, ha
Asura are the master race.

I regret the points I put into Legendary crafting because I still am many points shy of Autoloot

The lvl2 gets you the large chests.... the rest is standard and can wait

the mount stealth isnt exactly high value either ;)

The problem with mastery system is stupid because it doesn't tell you where the mastery is located this is one of the worst design maps I've seen
Disagree
It does tell if you hover the mastery tab
