I romanced Karlach to let her have fun and get Astarion's "So you found a new lover" dialogue and when it started to become visible she is falling in love with my character, said she adores me and then I broke up with her for Astarion... Oh my god. I don't remember last time i felt so awful for a fictional character. And she remembers it, when you meet her friend in Baldur's Gate and she asks if you're an item, Karlach says "Maybe once but not anymore." Good god. Annihilating whole population of goblins? I felt nothing. Decimating myconids colony? I felt nothing. Breaking Mama K's heart? I am a monster and I can never be redeemed.
@monke12354People get so mad about that reaction, but the meaning is kind of... extremely obvious. In Act 1 she saw you as a love interest, but if you reject that, as time goes on her feelings change. By the time of Act 3, the MC is basically family to her and she loves them in a sisterly way. That's why she's so weirded out when her friend asks that.
@@thescowl6971 it was my first run and I wasn’t sure I wanted to romance Minthara till it became an option. I preferred her to Karlach at the time. Don’t see why it’s such a big deal to you.
