I've had three 911s and lots of other sports cars but this car is the most entertaining. I was skeptical and a Euro snob about cars so I bought a new base C7 Stingray with 8-speed auto and performance exhaust for less than $50k. No Z51 package, nothing. Show me. I don't know how big you are, but the c7 is too small inside. I'm 6'4 and not fat and it is uncomfortable. The review is misleading because Corvette didn't get it right. I can't even get my legs in a c7 on the passenger side with the seat all the way back, but I can fit on both sides in a c6. The seats are more narrow at the bottom where you sit. I'm telling you they made this car for short skinny people. I know the c7 is better, but I'd be hurting after a long ride in it.
You guys keep mentioning the gt500 to represent Ford which really confuses me. No disrespect but Fords track car even though not available in 2014 is the boss 302 mustang. It too isnt about massive power and brute force like the gt500 its about finese and handling. I would like to see you guys compare the 2013 boss 302 laguna seca to this corvette I think it would be very interesting.
We've brought up the GT500 as it's the similarly priced Mustang. We agree that the Boss 302 is definitely the better Mustang, and we did a review of it we hope you'll watch!
I'm a life-long gearhead and Corvette owner. You guys are consistently one of the best car channels on UA-cam. You wanna drool over an unobtainable hypercar, go to TopGear. Have money for a car and actually want good info before you buy? You're it.
For the last time, the 5th Gen Camaro, the C6, and the new C7 Corvette Stingray were all designed and inspired after the silver Transformers Corvette that Michael Bay directed - The Corvette Centennial Stingray Concept. Take some moments to carefully look at the design of that concept - the Camaro and C6 hood is there, the front and rear fenders of the C7, the interior shape of the C6, Chevrolet Cruze, the rear tail lamps of the C7, etc. Fun Fact - It was also finished in 2003, about a year or so before the debut of the C6
Great review! I agree with everything that you said! I just purchased a 2019 Grand Sport and I also created a UA-cam channel so that I can share my ownership experience. I have been watching your videos for a long time, you guys rock!
I'm a big fan of the likes of German cars like the Porsche 911 or BMW M3, but man I would take that Vette in a heartbeat! I'm looking forward to how the C7 Z06 will be =)
I was one of those snarky corvette haters. I made fun of the plastic around it, joked that if you drove one hard pieces would fly off, made all the jokes about the interior and about how unrefined the car was. This car has shut me right the hell up. The interior is good, the car is gorgeous, an the engineering is amazingly clever (cylinder deactivation for the highway! What a good idea! ). This is no longer a crude car with way too much power. This is a real, honest to God refined sports car and all I can wonder is how the hell they kept it so cheap, and how (short of blatant emotional reasoning) you could justify spending so much more on cars that aren't much (if any) better. Great review, guys. You are the UA-cam standard as far as I'm concerned.
GUYS GUYS! You can't end it like that. I wanted to see your reactions with each other after and discuss your surprises. A+++++ on this and ALL your non judge mental videos. You Guys just ROCK! Why you don't have a TV show or Magazine or book or what ever! Thank you Boys.
Man America is doing amazing things with our cars! I was never a corvette guy either, but man do i love the C7! It beats Astons and Jags! And it's only $52,000! I give props to GM for actually making a car this good and that will save their asses!
to me its the best looking corvette.. and yes i know the purists and well... most anyone who likes corvettes will think im crazy... but i think it looks amazing.
As a bilingual person, I've been watching American, British and German reviews of this car. Its interesting how the comments on the British and German reviews are mostly positive (very positive with the Germans) and then its 100% bashing on the American ones. I have a feeling this isn't really about the car.
Taylor Williams no no no . I have a bugatti veyron super sport 2015 model and i deliver pizza with it and make a living of that . I also have this 2015 corvette and go to high end parties and important places with it . The corvette is my special and better car . The bugatti is my work car . Americans make way better cars dont listen to those crazy europeans . Now if you excuse my i have a pizza to deliver . ( with my bugatti ) of course .
thats funny shit bitz i was delivering subs in my 2016 FORD GT and they didnt tip because i got there too fast... ill take my bmw next time so they can get ready.
I just went backwards from this to a 2013 grand sport LT4 (60th anniversary). I loved the c7 stingray but there is just something about the c6 grand sport for me that personally is it. From the lines of the curves back to that Z06 Big Booty rear, the c6 GS's are just in my opinion the pinnacle of classic corvette styling/performance blended together in a weekend road driven sports car. I will miss the better interior of the c7 however in the future I may upgrade my c6 GS on the inside to my liking. Some day I may get a c8, which I have driven and I gotta say, I love the performance upgrade the c8 brings and yet I had to ask myself if I would ever use any of that extra performance on the back roads? The answer for me was no and the exotic lines are just not the curves I personally love. Performance wise the c6 GS already has so much in handling and power that you can only experience that aspect on a track day with some laps. I get where the corvette is going in the future with it's exotic look/vibe combined with performance and I think that's awesome too, it's just not what I would call timeless or classic corvette . Honestly, I don't feel like I am alone in this opinion and I feel like the c6 grand sports are going to very quickly become difficult to find in the near future because of this timeless blend that they have. The great thing about Corvettes is that once you have one you love them all! There is a corvette out there for everyone. Great video, as always. Love the channel!
I'm about to pick up a c7 in the next few months. Test drove one and its an absurdly good sports car. Nothing comes close for the $. Last manual vette too, sign me up!
As a minor Porschephile, I've driven the newer 911's and boxsters and caymans(981's, 991's) and they're so soulless in comparison to the vette. They're brilliant machines that could make an eel feel like a racing driver. The corvette requires SOME skill to not throw it into a wall when driving it with any sort of enthusiasm. And that makes you feel good. That makes you feel like YOU are driving the car, not that the car is just handling the job of getting from A to B without bothering you.
Do you feel like you have more control of the 911, boxter or the c7? I’d assume the boxter but I can’t picture either to be more fun than my c7. Always wanted to drive a Porsche, never have yet, hopefully I will someday soon I’m only 20
@@cashmoneycockburn9502 Sorry for the insanely later reply,The boxster feels like you couldn't break the back end loose if you wanted to. The 997 I drove felt about on par with with the c7 with regards to how much you CAN do, but it takes significantly more effort. The c7 wants you to have fun with it, but is absolutely capable of being a track monster if you want to. I think in my year of ownership I've lost control of it 1 time literally the 1st weekend I had it and it had been well over 7 years since I'd driven anything with that kind of power to weight and slideable, and a manual on top of that. I can easily slide it around without being scared NOW, because I've spent time pushing it til it tried to bite me and now I can enjoy it doing pretty much anything. What's really interesting is when I threw it around on the track, it gripped like the boxster did on the road. If you're driving it right, it will eat the base and s model 911's on the track. Absolutely fantastic machine. And with regards to driving one at all, it's a bit sketch, but honestly just go to a dealership that has a 10 year old boxster or 911 and ask for a test drive. If there's anything that some people might try to stereotype you with, go with your dad or cool uncle and just ask him to let you drive it back. My dad has an 02 base boxster and if you just want something fun, they're tons of fun, but they can be an absolute pain to maintain. For my 32nd birthday I took my dad on a track day and he couldn't get it up and running in time for it so we had to share my vette. Also, if you're trying to figure out how to afford it, find whatever interests you, find people that make money in that field, and figure out what they actually provide and where they might be lacking and try to fill gaps where you see people asking for more. Or just get into tech. It's having a rough patch right now, but if you can get into Cloud infrastructure with AWS or Google or Microsoft, the money for it will just magically start appearing.
@@cashmoneycockburn9502 Boxster 100%. I haven't really thrown it hard around a track, but the test drives I've done with them have always had really hard turns and it feels like it's on rails, where the vette and 911 both go at least a little bit lighter, even though they're not going anywhere in any situation you really ever see yourself in on the road. And good luck! As long as you keep focused, you'll find a way!
Finally a Vette/Chevy with some personality. And the perfect time to do it, the unveiling of the infamous and most anticipated Stingray. Again I say, finally.
As a selfish viewer I am glad to see yet another stellar independent review from you guys. I know that these shoots are a challenge, but I just want to let you know that you guys are on my top five reviewer list for UA-cam. Thanks for this , I love this car and lets just say its in my five year plan....lol Z06 coming out...BEAST
As I patiently await my Build date, and Museum Delivery; I keep going over my 100+ UA-cam Video collection on the 2014 Corvette. You guys and C&D have done excellent jobs, with a slight advantage to you guys; as I AM (and have been) an everyday driver of my long gone C4 and my C5, and soon to be C7. Your review is great, and you hit the topic "spot on". (However the "cuts" were a little abrupt in the video - I would have preferred a shorter fade in and out between the two of you. BTW I welcome both you Porsche guys to the deep dark pit of being a Corvette fan.
Gentlemen... another fantastic video! I'm a total Porsche nut also but I'd surely take a C7 too. I too was against the taillights at the start but think they fit the rest of the design profile. And don't forget the ZR1 at the start had squarish lights too. Hell that's when the whole tail went convex instead of concave. LOL it's evolution and I like it.
Both were like little kids at Christmas with a new toy when driving the Corvette! LOL I've loved the look of the car since it was first unveiled. After this review, I want it even more. Great review!!
I have enjoyed your videos. Sometimes, others on the net have too much talking, others way too much of the car without any feedback, your video strike a careful balance. Good job guys!
Awesome...I have new Grand Sport on it's way to me....Seeing you guys having a blast driving the C7, got me even more psyched! Thanks for doing the vid guys!
Happened upon this while looking for C7 driving impressions. I wonder where this particular drive took place. What an outstanding road to 'just drive and enjoy'.
You guys are quite good at this. From the GTR review where people gave you the gears (pun intended) - to this one on the C7 - you are both again - right on target. Keep it up guys..
Looks like a lot of fun. Personally I think the exterior has been a little over designed, it's trying too hard to look aggressive, to my eye. But this isn't the first review I've seen that suggests Chevy have finally got their act together with this Corvette. If you're the kind of person who has to buy cars new, then this really doesn't have a lot of competition for the price. Another good show guys!
Ok this video was HILARIOUS! Almost every review these guys have done they usually find at least one (usually more than one) thing that the car can be knocked for. I think this is the first review where they basically came away saying,"This car is FREAKIN AWESOME!" I couldn't agree more based on the other reviews I've seen. LOL!
I"ve never been a Corvette guy either. I've always valued a light handling car over power i.e. the S2000. This one though definetly has cuaght my eye. I keep hearing good things about it.
If you were in the market for a daily driver which would you pick among these three: Corvette Stingray w/ Z51 pkg., Cayman S, F80 M3? You would occasionally participate in track days and you need room for golf bags. Oh and you don't have children to worry about. Thanks and keep up the great work!
There's a lot of tool bags around here talking about the gtr. It is not the bargain supercar. The corvette is. Corvette drives and does everything better. Its a better drivers car, a more interactive vehicle, which is worth the premium over a cheap sportscar that has nothing but computers and acceleration going for it. To hell with a gtr and its fan boys, learn to drive a proper sportscar around the track. Don't let it drive you and please dont post nurburgring lap times.
Kevin J. Dildonik I'm a jdm guy but never in my life would I spend over a 100 grand on a Nissan unless it's an old school gtr if I'm gonna spend money on a car during this time it will be that new z07 c7 corvette it's going to beast on alot of cars including the gtr and will become and instant classic I'm sorry

drjd2real I have sat in it, and driven it. They say its identical to the C6, but in reality its tight for me
Have you watched our Corvette C7 Stingray review yet? ua-cam.com/video/RmfKDOOv1OA/v-deo.html. Yup... at long last, there it is!
do review Toyota Tacoma xrunner
"the corvette is a little dirtier," i fell out of my chair laughing, cause everybody wants that girl
josj15
we are thinking of two different girls. she may be freaky, but she aint ugly
You're it.
GOD I love that car... This was one of the best C7 reviews I've seen. Thank you!
Yeah that chrome grill strip is goofy. Mine has the optional black strip. Also if you switch to track mode it firms up the steering.
The black strip is a lifesaver on stingrays 😂 mine has it too
For the last time, the 5th Gen Camaro, the C6, and the new C7 Corvette Stingray were all designed and inspired after the silver Transformers Corvette that Michael Bay directed - The Corvette Centennial Stingray Concept. Take some moments to carefully look at the design of that concept - the Camaro and C6 hood is there, the front and rear fenders of the C7, the interior shape of the C6, Chevrolet Cruze, the rear tail lamps of the C7, etc. Fun Fact - It was also finished in 2003, about a year or so before the debut of the C6
your such a moron
***** wat?
Great review! I agree with everything that you said! I just purchased a 2019 Grand Sport and I also created a UA-cam channel so that I can share my ownership experience. I have been watching your videos for a long time, you guys rock!
I'm a big fan of the likes of German cars like the Porsche 911 or BMW M3, but man I would take that Vette in a heartbeat! I'm looking forward to how the C7 Z06 will be =)
First Corvette that actually interests me from the last several decades. This review nails it.
This was a freaking great video, very non-biased and entertaining review of a great car.
FINALLY, a reviewer mentions the retainer grille. That's why I have to get the Z06 instead. You know, once I win the lottery.
bench175 5 years later, and guess what, you can pick one up in some places for as low as 35,000 now.
The C7 really is a game-changer. A marvel of modern engineering. Cant wait to see the Z06 reviews.
The majority of the guys who says they're Porsche people instead of Corvette, usually can't afford neither
Its funny becuse they bash on both but they never ownd one or driven 1.
Exactly !
I’ve owned both, and the Corvette was more suited to my tastes
I feel exactly the same way. I've always respected Corvette's, but now I actually want to have one
Best shot was at 7:20 when you were driving down the canyon and you could hear the echo of the engine, that 5 seconds was all I needed.
Now that it's what..9 years old? I suppose us common folk can start looking and enter the chat 😏
This. This car right here. This is the only GM car I would ever own.
ATS-V CTS-V Camaro 1LE I can think of quite a few right off the top of my head...
Fantastic review, one of the best I have seen of the C7 Corvette, and I've about watch them all. I'm sold. Thank you!
Really nice car and awesome manual gearbox not double clutch crap.
i came from the future to tell you now that c8 has that double clutch crap and no manual
yung tooli 😂😂😂
C8 has a gimmicky fake manual transmission now
to me its the best looking corvette.. and yes i know the purists and well... most anyone who likes corvettes will think im crazy... but i think it looks amazing.
I'm a purist, and I absolutely love it.
I love it as well. Got lost with the C6, I'm back with the C7. Hopefully end of year I'll be placing my order.
I'm probably buying one, but I'll considering painting out the "retainer" when I get it.
As a bilingual person, I've been watching American, British and German reviews of this car. Its interesting how the comments on the British and German reviews are mostly positive (very positive with the Germans) and then its 100% bashing on the American ones. I have a feeling this isn't really about the car.
what do you mean? they are bashing americans or we are bashing ourselves?
Freddy McCool no, it looks like people are coming to the american videos just to bash, I don't think they even care about the car.
They just come here to call us fat and ugly and how their cars are more fuel efficient and blah blah blah.
The last decade of the Corvette being a gorgeous 2 seater
I'm about to pick up a c7 in the next few months. Test drove one and its an absurdly good sports car. Nothing comes close for the $. Last manual vette too, sign me up!
10 years later.... the sound still rocks
The Stingray badge is magnificent.
Oh my god that engine note is gorgeous!!!
The dirty girlfriend analogy is spot on lol.
Kiel Li Mikal 🤣
Finally a Vette/Chevy with some personality. And the perfect time to do it, the unveiling of the infamous and most anticipated Stingray. Again I say, finally.
And 5 years later the zr1 with 755 hp !
The Porsche may do everything really really well but it looks like a stretched Volkswagen bug. The Corvette looks like a proper sports car.
The C7 is a gorgeous machine. GM did a fantastic job. I still prefer my Panamera because it has full size rear seats.
Wow, your videos keep getting better and better!
Once again the best 'Go to' review on the net, great job guys!
These guys are my favorite auto reviewers.
This car looks gorgeous inside and out, especially in Night Racing Blue Metallic
Just place the order already...lol
Both were like little kids at Christmas with a new toy when driving the Corvette! LOL I've loved the look of the car since it was first unveiled. After this review, I want it even more. Great review!!
Can't get enough of this video! Awesome review guys!
Finally! A very good and thorough review! Beautiful car! Thanks!
I have enjoyed your videos. Sometimes, others on the net have too much talking, others way too much of the car without any feedback, your video strike a careful balance. Good job guys!
Amazing review! Love the analogy in 11:31. Keep it up, guys!
That's a beautiful interior looks just as nice as any of the Z06 I've seen
Fantastic review! Great attention to detail, and I love how you had two people's opinions. Keep it up, you just got a new sub!
C7 is the Best Corvette
You guys are quite good at this. From the GTR review where people gave you the gears (pun intended) - to this one on the C7 - you are both again - right on target.
Keep it up guys..
I ordered mine on Oct 4 2013 a convertible fully loaded and it is finally going to get here next week, March 12 2014
i get more excited about everyday driver new episodes than top gear uk.
I watched the Camaro SS review. I guess in 4 years things change. V8 is back on the menu again
I bought a 2015 Z51 3LT with only 6,300 miles on it back in October. I absolutely love it!
LOL!
Damn the c7 looks so much better than the previous gen that the c6 is starting to look old.
The stingray looks HUGE compared to a 911. Why is that?
Right thats i was thinking. C6 looks old vehicle compared to the c7
@@SteveRunciman mathematics- a sphere contains the most volume for any given surface area.
Well done EverydayDriver! I too never cared much for the Corvettes but this #C7 #Stingray looks like a winner!
I got mine on September 26th 2013 only waited 3 months. I really like the car
I"ve never been a Corvette guy either. I've always valued a light handling car over power i.e. the S2000. This one though definetly has cuaght my eye. I keep hearing good things about it.
I also wish they kept painted A Pillars, and i like the fact that they did at least mirrored tail lights. The squares look good though.
Im loving the new format of this review. I can't till you review the 2015 wrx in CVT and manual trim
Great car for the $$. Corvette really hit it out of the park with the C7. And the real bad-boy arrives the 1st of the year.
Great review, gents. I always love your honesty. Oh, and nice tasteful update with the brake/wheel/tire graphics at the end.
Kenshin Himura Yeah but the GTR looks like a Chevy and the Corvette doesn't.
Kamren Zinzow My thoughts exactly !
I like how you said, don't let it drive you. If I owned a Corvette it would be something I'd remembered forever. :)
647killa I just came back from my C7 escape drive. Nothing can compare driving this machine. EVERYthing is perfect. Pure enjoyment.. drove gtrs.. blah blah
Very Well Done Guys, out standing analysis of a Truly Great American Sportscar.
