This is so heartbreaking. As an ex-law enforcement officer (Federal), it's sad to see and hear this be a consistent issue. I've been trained to take care of people, not cause more corruption. I left the field due to high stressors and general anxiety associated with the job, especially overseas. I hope to one day see a nation where law enforcement officers stay true to their oath. It's a real shame and gives a bad name to many honorable officers in the field.

This reminds me of my cousin’s death. She died in 2012 and they ruled hers a suicide but no one in family thinks that’s what happened. She had two kids and loved them so much. Her boyfriend was and still is a cop and we think he was cheating on her so she went to confront him and then that happened. This is literally the exact same story.

I had a coworker married to a cop that was abusing her. She said anytime she would call the cops they would do nothing. I’ve also personally heard of other instances of domestic abuse related to cops where nothing is ever done.

I know someones ex husband who was a cop would send co workers to stalk her and check on her frequently with no apparent reason other than the fact he wanted to torture her mentally lets just say in worked

I'm so sorry for Katie and her family. I know how it feels. Same happened to me in 1993, when a drunk driver killed my unborn child, I was 2 weeks away from my due date. Absolutely nothing was done. It's sad to this day there isn't stricter laws for drunk driving.

I know someone that had one drink was driving in bad weather and kill someone and he's in jail for 40 years
Manslaughter atleast. My good friend wrecked with a couple of our other friends in the car and one of our friends died, it took two or three months but they did end up charging my friend that drove with invol.manslaughtr 2years he served 14months after doing a program, clearly that state doesnt see killing someone with a vehicle as manslaughter..unfathomable.

I knew Katie Palmer and it’s still heartbreaking when I think about this. I found out about what happened the afternoon after her and John were hit. John actually had spine fractures from being hit as well. The only good thing to come out of all of this; Katie was able to donate her organs before they took her off life support! I just emailed the DA about Katie Palmer. I have a family member who is an alcoholic and who tries to drink and drive. My biggest fear is them killing someone because they thought they were fine to drive. This case needs to serve as a reminder that drinking while under the influence of alcohol is not tolerated. Thank you guys for always going to the next level to help families. Great job guys. 💕

The way they interrogated him was really telling. Usually the officer makes the person feel cornered and will place themselves between the suspect and the door to make them feel cornered. Placing him by the door to just have a friendly chat, that was nothing but a formality

When I was a forensic science major, they had so much focus on integrity and always telling the truth through that evidence, even if it’s not what’s expected or the results you want to see/hear. Saddens me to see there’s so little integrity in some police offices. Ultimately why I decided to switch majors. Felt fake to learn all this stuff and see real world examples of police stations doing the complete opposite of what is right...

This video hits so close to home for me. On July 10th 2021, my 29 year old cousin also a teacher was in a deadly car accident that killed her on impact and there were no repercussions for the driver (he was speeding and ran a stop sign, cousins lane didn’t have a stop sign they / (her and her boyfriend) had the right of way). He got to straight home while she had to head to a morgue. Her boyfriend was in the ICU for a week and needed multiple surgeries but he’s home now and mourning. She was also pregnant but didn’t even get to announce yet because her life was taken. It’s just devastating. My family is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver but I’ll definitely be calling and emailing for Katie. I feel so bad for her husband and kids. 😭

The Katie Palmer case is so heartbreaking but also angering. I just finished Kendall's video on Fawn Mountain which probably isn't helping the annoyance and low tolerance for bullshittery but how on earth can the "justice system" screw up this bad? I know that there are so many more good cops than bad but sometimes it's hard to see it. It is obvious in both cases that Corey and Heather respectively are guilty and need to be held accountable. I'm sorry, I'm usually not this upset but both cases are just frustrating

@@haleyhewkin566 Right? It's blatantly obvious to anyone who looks at everything that happened in Fawn's case that Heather, at the absolute bare minimum, is suspect #1. Her behavior says it all. For this case absolutely things were so mishandled and quite frankly the fact that they would rather have a murderer among them than "look bad" says a lot. Although at this point I think it's safe to say they're doing both and look worse and worse every single day he's still there.

Michelle O'Connell: I just can't believe that nobody is doing anything. It's very obvious that she did NOT commit suicide. No agency should be conducting an investigation on one of their own under any circumstances. The higher ups should be all over this. It makes the whole system look crooked. SMH!!! And people wonder why there's so much discontent with the police. I sincerely hope that someone helps this family get truth and then justice.

A candidate for Sheriff in Pinellas County Florida was running with the platform to clean up the city. He power washed his name “for Sheriff” all over the county. He didn’t win, but he left his mark that can only be removed if the county actually cleans up the city. Brilliant move. I hope he runs again.

This is definitely NOT something that i'm proud of and have learned from ever since, but as someone who got a DUI when they were 20 years old I cannot even begin to imagine how much more WORSE my situation would've been if I hit two people and one of them DIED because of it. The St John's County sheriff's office has an unfortunate history. I lived there and had issues of my own in that County due to that Sheriff's office. This is definitely a cover up. He was abusive according to locals. I heard the story right away when it happened and it was unfathomable. I couldn't finish listening, but y'allare wonderful.

Just finished listening to Katie’s part of the case, and sent in a email! Katie, John, and his family deserve justice. He could’ve at least got involuntary vehicular manslaughter or something. And also with that level of alcohol in your system from THE NIGHT BEFORE. He had to be still tipsy and drank a lot. He definitely deserves some type of jail time

Katie Palmer really pulls on my heart strings because I lost my great uncle to a drunk driver when I was a kid. I was actually hit by a man intoxicated by alcohol and drugs almost 2 months ago. He hit me going 55mph and I was completely stopped. Second time that has happened to me in the last six months, turning on my street. Claiming the “sun was in his eyes.” But if I was turning or was head on he would have killed me. What’s awful is that I know people who say that he’s been doing this for a while and his brother is an assistant DA in the city over. That’s why he is still driving. I just can’t stop thinking about how my family could have been in the same situation and I am so sorry they have to go through this. It’s not fair for people out here playing God. I will continue to voice my concerns about driving under the influence and getting away with it. I truly wish the best for her family and that I will not forget her case and hope one day they get justice ❤️

Not defending the boyfriend but when I found my dad after he shot himself, he was still barely alive but I screamed and ran outside to call 911. I was incredibly scared and traumatized. I can’t imagine staying and trying to help him seeing all the blood and everything

This case really hits deep for me. I used to live in St. John’s county in 2014/15, I still have many friends living there and knowing they could be encountering this man makes me sick. I hope there will be justice for Michelle, and also Katie 🤍

To attempt suicide when you have a young child you would have to be extremely depressed. Signs would most likely be present for months before.
Agreed, there are too many signs pointing to Michelle looking forward to the future. Her new job, her new life plans without Jeremy, her daughter, all of the family that loved her… this case is just so heartbreaking 💔
Katie’s story hit home for me. My uncle just passed by vehicular homicide last October. 3 days before his birthday. It was icey roads, but there is proof that the person was going way over the speed limit for the road conditions. My uncle had came up the road to help his son get un-stuck from the side of the road(he had slid into the bank) he was standing on the side of the road saying goodbye to his son(my cousin) after helping him in the snow to get to work and a jeep flew up over the hill lost control and killed my uncle on impact. Then they tried to FLEE THE SCENE! And my cousin had to chase them down instead of spending the last moments with his father. We are still fighting for justice. We are going to court in September.
