I’m with you. I am with you ms. lady. True divestment is the most powerful thing a black woman could do. It’s powerful, a blessing, and it’s the best ever. I’m glad i encountered it many years ago. Btw, I have a preference for latino men/other colored men I find them attractive but I’m still open to white men as well. I dated black guys as a teenager but all my adult relationships have been with latino men or white men. It was experiences where it was rooted in lust which ended in bad situations when I dated black guys. I just like gentlemen, handsome, quality men, hardworking, smart, healthy, respectful, humble, protector, and a man who will treat me with love/respect and be a positive addition to my life who share similar interests. I like a different variety of musics, foods, and other things. I was never raised to be a SJW woman or problack girl as a child. Black men/black boys I don’t hate them or carry rage for them but I don’t deal with them romantically, physically, and haven’t done so in 10 plus years since I was a teenager. My version of divestment was to divest from them all regardless of social economic status, stop supporting colorists ones, not coddling them, male identified black women, toxic relatives, black male rap music that’s misogynistic, toxic things in black culture, being a big mama, divested from black males tv shows/movies who’s degraded black women, I divested emotionally as well from them, and burned the cape. I wish BM the best out there but I’m not a pro-black person at all or fighting for the black community plight or a BLM type of woman. It’s time to grow up, heal, and move on from the groupthink, black matrix; stop being the handmaidens of the race. Those who understand it will get and those who don’t will be left behind. i've dated blk women in my hs, and college years, just got back into the dating scene last year in my late 40s (dont look my age) and I found myself being approached by many educated, high earning blk women with successful careers, some were single mothers, which didn't bother me (apparently its a deal breaker for most blk men) and when I'd ask a blk woman out they always said yes. When I asked why they have pivoted and started dating more white, latino, and asian men. They all had similar negative stories, that blk men were super critical about their careers, social friends, dress attire, that they spoke proper english, wanted to explore adventures, hiking, etc, wanted to explore the country, the world, that these blk men felt that blk women shouldn't have had any past sexual lovers, should automatically submit to them, dont' talk or argue with them, basically keep their voice to themselves, never question the men. They expect the blk women to have natural hair, but then complain about their natural hair, and the moment blk men find out a blk woman might have dated a white man they'd have a tantrum... but most of these women stated they were never romanced, never taken on a proper date without expectations, when dating blk men, but when a white guy would ask them out, they were surprised they opened their car doors, had a full day planned out, lunch, go explore, find deserts, and have long conversations... i am currently dating a beautiful blk woman

keep the makeup natural (don’t go ham on the eyebrows), and as for hair i would say stick to natural hair extensions that mimic your own hair (or just wear your natural hair if comfortable) and stick to your natural hair color. nothing wrong with wigs, but it’s better to have something that is extension of yourself like 4c textured hair, so i would also say stay away from the bone straight/loosely curled wigs because it doesn’t look authentic. make sure if you’re getting extensions like box braids, twists or faux locs that they aren’t too long (nothing wrong with lengthy extensions, but for a lack of better terms not as classy). also, stay away from BBL fashion and hot girl fashion. make sure your outfits aren’t too hip hop aesthetic. but there’s nothing wrong if one wants to do the opposite, I just noticed that once I began to change my makeup routine, hair color, hair length and my wardrobe, I attracted a larger range of guys and was generally just more palatable

I also divested this year! Funny thing is; I was already divested but didn’t know that’s what it was called or a whole movement out here lol…. Let me just say this….it must be a global thing….. My ethnicity is East African but grew up in America. One thing about my people is that they don’t do interracial or even mingle with other blacks for that reason. My first husband was sort of arranged marriage. Yesss y’all some of us still have this old school mentality WHILE in America and they get you young like right outta high school. After that failed. I kept trying to date within my ethnicity just to please the family but our guys were treating me like trash! Just because I was DIVORCED with a kid. Eventually I gave up on them. I started divesting from culture and tradition first, along with the men. I told myself I’m too American for this sht. Sooo then I started opening my options to everyone else except them and Asians. I was even willing to date other blacks and little by little; I started excluding them also. Like after learning about their pathology. Most of them were sexist. Last BM I canceled out was the AA ones. I just never had the opportunity to date one because of the area I live at. It’s predominantly white. I figured why not! We’re both blk and American. I should be able to connect with them better…..uhh NOPE! I felt like I was just as fetishized as I was with some nonblack men. Only difference is these ones were more fascinated with my features. I’m not biracial. And I’m not light skinned either. It’s hard to explain but I would get a similar treatment as they would give to their preferences…I personally believe most of them just like what they can’t have. my people have made it clear that we don’t mingle….. Anyways long story short! I decided to put aside my short awkward encounters and I wanted to really give it a shot. Btw, I have a preference for latino men/other colored men I find them attractive but I’m still open to white men as well. I dated black guys as a teenager but all my adult relationships have been with latino men or white men. It was experiences where it was rooted in lust which ended in bad situations when I dated black guys. I just like gentlemen, handsome, quality men, hardworking, smart, healthy, respectful, humble, protector, and a man who will treat me with love/respect and be a positive addition to my life who share similar interests. i've dated blk women in my hs, and college years, just got back into the dating scene last year in my late 40s (dont look my age) and I found myself being approached by many educated, high earning blk women with successful careers, some were single mothers, which didn't bother me (apparently its a deal breaker for most blk men) and when I'd ask a blk woman out they always said yes. When I asked why they have pivoted and started dating more white, latino, and asian men. keep the makeup natural (don’t go ham on the eyebrows), and as for hair i would say stick to natural hair extensions that mimic your own hair (or just wear your natural hair if comfortable) and stick to your natural hair color. nothing wrong with wigs, but it’s better to have something that is extension of yourself like 4c textured hair, so i would also say stay away from the bone straight/loosely curled wigs because it doesn’t look authentic. make sure if you’re getting extensions like box braids, twists or faux locs that they aren’t too long (nothing wrong with lengthy extensions, but for a lack of better terms not as classy). also, stay away from BBL fashion and hot girl fashion. make sure your outfits aren’t too hip hop aesthetic. but there’s nothing wrong if one wants to do the opposite, I just noticed that once I began to change my makeup routine, hair color, hair length and my wardrobe, I attracted a larger range of guys and was generally just more palatable

Let me just say this….it must be a global thing…..
My ethnicity is East African but grew up in America. One thing about my people is that they don’t do interracial or even mingle with other blacks for that reason. My first husband was sort of arranged marriage. Yesss y’all some of us still have this old school mentality WHILE in America and they get you young like right outta high school. After that failed. I kept trying to date within my ethnicity just to please the family but our guys were treating me like trash! Just because I was DIVORCED with a kid. Eventually I gave up on them. I started divesting from culture and tradition first, along with the men. I told myself I’m too American for this sht. Sooo then I started opening my options to everyone else except them and Asians. I was even willing to date other blacks and little by little; I started excluding them also. Like after learning about their pathology. Most of them were sexist. Last BM I canceled out was the AA ones. I just never had the opportunity to date one because of the area I live at. It’s predominantly white. I figured why not! We’re both blk and American. I should be able to connect with them better…..uhh NOPE! I felt like I was just as fetishized as I was with some nonblack men. Only difference is these ones were more fascinated with my features. I’m not biracial. And I’m not light skinned either. It’s hard to explain but I would get a similar treatment as they would give to their preferences…I personally believe most of them just like what they can’t have. my people have made it clear that we don’t mingle…..
Anyways long story short! I decided to put aside my short awkward encounters and I wanted to really give it a shot. Luckily Cynthia G’s video came up on my feed and I started watching her out of curiosity…. By this time I’ve heard of her but never really sat and watched her….. mannnn 😅 she really saved my life lol …thank god I didn’t follow through. Instead my journey changed paths and today I’m a divested BW! I’ve cut off all BM regardless of ethnicity. They are the same!…. I can’t fathom my soulmate being a WM but I’m trying to be optimistic rn lol

You use the exact same logic that black men who do not date black woken use frequently. Specifically that you don’t date black men because they were never interested in you in the past. I see black men say the same thing, that black women thought they were corny etc. so now they only date non-black women. The fact that you automatically discount any potential romantic partners from your race is a form of self hate no matter how you spin it. That goes for both black men and women who do it.
