When you say "trust the process", you aren't kidding. This bed is absolutely stunning, I can't imagine a boy that wouldn't love this installation in their room. I wish UA-cam had been around when my son was 9, I'd have been building right along with you.
My father built me a built in bed like this and it had a loft on top. I had alot of great years with that bed. Plus i have the memory of him and helping him make it. This reminded me of it. Love that color blue💙😊
Wonderful job! My 9 year old picked all the colors for his shared room and it is amazing! Drizzle (a silvery white) trim, Pewter walls, and Starless Night (dark navy blue) ceiling with glitter. The quad bunk is a very similar grey as the walls and has greyish blue velvet curtains. Each bed has basically the Hogwarts houses main colors on a solid quilted cover and there is a circular mountain rug that combines all the colors. We used natural dark wood and canal colored leather on the other furniture. Everyone says it is the most tranquil room in the house.
This is incredible! Love the color so much 🥰 I think the only thing that could make it any cozier is some curtains he can draw, make it feel like he’s reading in a little tent
As I mentioned in the short, this color of blue is beautiful. I can't believe you were holding up green paint chips after he said he wanted blue. 😅 But a great idea to pre-select some blue colors and give him the final say. I love how this bed nook is pretty much just some trim. But painting it all one color does make it look like a custom built-in. Maybe a blue ceiling in the nook, too?
Paint it the same color. Would it be too weird to add glow in the dark stars? Or dark blue wallpaper with stars? I couldn't tell if the ceiling is popcorn. I think you've removed some from another room? I sent this video to my niece-in-law as a suggestion for her 7-year-old son. He shares a room with his 1-year-old brother. I think it would be a great way to separate their spaces. @Hanasdiyhome @@Hanasdiyhome
@@cyndij8312 Ooh - dark blue wallpaper with metallic stars would look AMAZING in the ceiling area above the bed. Especially one with sort of a matte or satin finish to the dark blue, instead of something glossy. That way the metallic stars would really jump out from the background, especially if he had a night light lit on his shelves.
Hana, you did an amazing job for your son. Vision, color choice, craftsmanship, creativity… all DIY/A+. You have serious engineering skills & your commentary was great, humble & spot on. I imagine you are a self-starter, are guided by your inner plumb line & enjoy & conquer any & all challenges in life. Brava!!!!! Elaine of beautiful Montclair NJ.
Gorgeous!! Has me wanting to do this for myself! So glad you trusted your gut & didn't second guess it! Hope your son loves this so much he doesn't want to move out! And that he & your daughter catch the DIY bug from you!!
I have always let my children pick their own paint colors. They're the ones who live in it and paint is the easiest thing to change. One bedroom started out white and dark green, then went to white with a cloud, sky scene outlined in gold. Next was three shades of bright orange and deep yellow. And then back to white. All it took was paint and I got three, happy kids. They even helped because they were invested in it.
Projects like this is a good time to change outlet and light switch colors and style when painting. The other suggestion with blue, ignore the experts who always pair blue with a tan/beige as a accent and pick out a grey. I have grey walls a blue accent wall and painted the trim and doors white. I also switched to the decor outlets and switches in white. If still in the home in 4 years a wall mount TV and in wall power and cable management is a option. make sure to see if you can find a trim match if you notch a baseboard then future owners can install a full piece.
Looks great and that blue colour is stunning, not normally a fan of blue on walls as I always find it feels cold but I love that shade, you did a fantastic job.
This is a beautiful room, but what your son will need in years to come is a really good place to put a charging station where it does leak light. I am a voracious reader and I have 3 Kindles and 2 tablets. As a result, I need a compact multiple item charging station. Of course, he’ll need room for doing homework too.
Just found your channel and you did a fabulous job. What color is that blue? Home Depot? Lowes? I am going to be redoing a spare bedroom and this color would look great.
My son is 48. He bought a house and picked 3 different paint colors for his great room (combo LR, DR and kitchen)….bad choices…..a few years later, he RE-painted the entire area GREY 🤣😂
Because she is filming with a mobile phone in a way she can see herself on the screen while filming. Phones than change the perspective (don‘t know how to say correctly). Like when you do selfies. It changes sides.
It looks really cute but as he gets taller he won't be able to straighten his legs when sleeping. I had this trouble with my boys and their bunk beds. Footboards don't work well except for smaller people. That said, he'll love this set up for years yet!
Hi, just found you here. Seems i could like your content a lot. I love diy and make over. But as you have a good amount of subscribers, please invest in your equipment. A nice micro? The sound is pretty bad. I can barely understand you. Greetings from Germany and the best wishes for a happy new year. … Haha, and i love your cramped workspace, feels like home. Lol.
When do you have time to do all these??? Are you a full time mom? Or do you also work outside? I'm just exhausted watching your video. I would have left it white. 😧

Thank you so much!!! Sometimes you just gotta take a leap and trust in your own abilities
Wow! This is amazing!!! I’m 59 years old and I would love a bed like this! Very cool Mom!!!😊
Haha me too!! I spend a lot of time here while he’s at school
Me too
I might copy this - for myself! ☺️ I always wanted some alcove type bed! 🥰
Same! That's why I'm watching!
impressive ! you could even extend the project between the bed and the wall under the widow and build him a bespoke desk if needed
That would be so cute! Thanks for the idea!

I don’t even like DIY or kids but am extremely impressed at what you have done for your little lad
That’s the best ind of compliment. But I’m curious, why don’t you like DIY?
Wonderful job!

It's amazing how paint can transform a room! I’m considering what to do in the ceiling nook! Paint. Maybe wallpaper??

@@dragondawn420 I would live in that space if it were mine!
It looks fabulous! I'm so glad you went with blue (and I hope he is truly happy with that particular blue). He is the one that has to live in it.
He really does love it!!
what's the debate on blues vs grn??? He made it clear he wanted blue. room turned out great!!!
This is brilliant. You're a great Mum. Thank you for sharing.
Plus, he’s just a kid…kids are people, too. They deserve respect.

Wonderful room, the blue is perfect

You did an amazing job!!! Gorgeous results!!! 📚👏☺
Time for a built-in desk to the side of the bed!
I'd love that bed!! Great job!!
I love it and also your enthusiasm! 💙
That looks brilliant! I'm sure your son loved it :-D
I find him reading in here all the time!
I love your enthusiasm, u go girl awesome transformation!! It is beautiful!!👍👌New subscriber!!
This is amazing, I would love to have something like this. I bet your son is so proud of his mum.
You did a beautiful job. Also, I love your enthusiasm. To up the coziness factor, install curtains on the front and side of the bed.
LOVE IT! My son has the same bed, and this is perfect!
I’m glad it gave you some inspiration!

New sub here. I love this bed. I have always wanted a cozy bed like this as a book lover.
I am so glad you love it! It's definitely become my favorite place in the house
The end result is beautiful, would love one for myself just don't think i have the skills to build one lol
We all start somewhere. Maybe you can’t build it today but it’s something you can build towards

Beautiful paint color. Fantastic room makeover
Stunning love it!!!
I am obsessed with this room!

There’s a little side table where I added the outlet. The room isn’t done! I’ll add a desk soon!
What determination! Bravo!
It's going to be hell changing the sheets, but it 'looks' lovely.
Fantastic work ❤❤😊
I’m so happy with how it turned out!
Not bad. Not bad at all. It's so good I might just copy it!
It looks great 😍

well done! ❤
If your kid is old enough to speak their wishes and read, they can pick a paint color. Trust your kid!
Mine wanted black. No.
My son is 48. He bought a house and picked 3 different paint colors for his great room (combo LR, DR and kitchen)….bad choices…..a few years later, he RE-painted the entire area GREY 🤣😂
They need to make mistakes so they learn. Plus a mistake in our eyes does not mean it is a mistake in theirs. @@phyllisanngodfrey6137
I love the blue? What color is that's again? The bed is amazing.
Love watching. The music is giving me a headache! Great job!
Will it still pull out into a double bed with the corner pieces on?
Yes! I’ll post a shorts on it
Really liked the idea. but i am wondering why the bed is on one side of window then the opposite side.

In my country we just order what’s colour what style also include assemble !
Wow!
Why would it make a difference that the house has white shutters, that would dictate your inside wall color?
I wanted to drench the entire room including the baseboards and ceiling but the shutters would stand out too much as they are white
Cute
Woooow

Wondefull
Your decorating for your son so why stress over the paint color. Why even ask him what he wants if you want to put your preferences first?
Was ist ihr Beruf?
This room will need to be redone. Im thinking at 15? Noys get tall fast
I doubt it. My hubby is only 5ft 10 and had a twin bed until we got married 😂
It's pretty bit too much blue. Needed more white

Why assemble the bed before painting the room???? I always paint first, new furniture second. Much easier.
When do you have time to do all these??? Are you a full time mom? Or do you also work outside? I'm just exhausted watching your video. I would have left it white. 😧
Too dark
You need to watch some videos of Pro painters, painting wrong, and makes your work longer and there is no need for that.
Cutting in first and rolling is wrong?
Cutting in is right but you roll from top to bottom, bottom to top, guess you didn’t watch any Pros painting, just trying to make it easier for you.
Not your average mom
