Hey Jabman , thank you for making all the reviews you do. They show the kits in great detail and your comments are well thought out . I usually watch a video of yours before I purchase a set lol. Thanks again , keep up the great work.
Im giving the base jabber to my titanium unicorn gundam. The full armor will fit in my shelf better without the tanks, and i don't waste a ton of plastic.
bought one and it's coming in tomorrow and i have to say, thanks for the tip in the first few minutes on putting on the decals. if i didn't check this video out i would probably die in the first few minutes of putting decals on.
Aw, man...when you mentioned the ankles, I was groaning. I have the MG Unicorn Ver.Ka, & it saddens me that despite having new leg, arm & waist articulation, Bandai didn't even bother to fix the ankles? Which are VERY important as they bear the entire weight of the kit on the ground! It's hard to describe, but there's a fundamental flaw in the ankle parts that make them wobbly. I blame Katoki for the design fail, & I blame Bandai for not fixing it. There's no reason it should still be there.
Your review with how the model handle each guns is so amazingly useful, it really helps people who are more on posing their model than just letting them stand there,,, thanks jabman025 question tho, im thinking of getting this one or the 00 raiser... what will you suggest to someone who loves to change their pose often... Given this one looks more badass than the 00, but u cant really do much while it holds all its weapons >.
I built the HG version of this Gundam and the stand for the rocket packs are more stable than the MG version. The only problem I had in building it was the stupid shield with the Gatling turrets on it. The arm piece kept falling off at how heavy it is, but man is it a beautiful model.
This is awesome looking kit with over the top amount of accessories. Good thing is that some problems that orginal had were fixed but then there is new problems like weight issues.
Remember that full scale gundam model that is currently standing at Japan right now? Just imagine this one standing there right now. would look so crazy airplanes won't be able to fly over that area.
Fantastic info. Unfortunately the main reason to watch is to see the detail, which is lost in the blurriest video on UA-cam. Better to just podcast the audio.
While I love how insane it is, will stick to my original brick, err, Unicorn. And yes, was as mad on the original to put the decals on after building it, that indeed is maddening. So freaking many of them. Can hardly imagine how mad I'd go with this one. It does have more of them then the PG Aile Strike with Skygrasper.
you are right, this really is a "collectors gundam". only when you NEED to have it or when you love crazy huge kits you should get it^^ mine does have a few issues though. the arms are collapsing with all weapons and effect parts attatched to them and the little grey latch on its back likes to detatch which causes the legs to wobble around. i also didnt bother with the garden fences :P i got it on an action base with custom decals right away.
@jabman025 and @mobiusdiablo you can attach all the weapons onto the unicorn gundam itself and you can put all the rest on other earlier versions EXCEPT for the leg grenades
i also didnt use most decals (i only used the three unicorn symbols for the shields). in my opinion they are just too much! they completely dominate the overall looks in my opinion. plus, i love the clean white look of the unicorn without decals a lot more!^^ i did paint the weapons with metallic paint though and added a top coat to all armor pieces. i also coated the inside of the psycho frame pieces with glow in the dark pigments so no one can say i didnt put a lot of work into it ;D
your comment has haunted me. how did the glow pigment work out? i have a bottle of createx glow pigment and am wondering how it would look long term. also did you use an air brush for it (very tricky considering how thick the stuff is)? i have the kit sitting here and am like "this could be amazing or it could end up looking like ass in 3 years".
@@megaflux7144 Wow I wrote that when I didn't care about capitalized letters yet... I held up pretty well. It doesn't look bad at all, I managed to get it on pretty evenly and it glows nicely.
@@MattisProbably awesome, im definitely doing that instead of leds then. ill never care about capitalization or the shift key in general, too many decades playing video games where wasted keystrokes mean death. thanks for responding.
83rd? God damn Jabman,... How are your shelves? Mines are pretty packaged, haha. And ow yeah, decal hell! Mine is on retention.... Oh, how I love my country... Great review, I am amazed that you manage to put onto one video :). And you're really right, this isn't for everyone...
Got this as my 4th kit and i LOVE it! however i have a few issues with it that i'm not sure if it was just my version. 1. the joints are VERY loose, to the point that with all the armour attached the arms barely stay in place. and the knees feel sloppy compared to my others. 2. The backpack (again while loaded up) is very tempermental. 3. Many of the green psycho accents are not accessible on mine because of reasons unknown that result in the pieces not moving. 4. putting guns into its hands with all the other stuff loaded up is a major pain and require the use of sticky-tack to stay in place. is this just an issue with mine or are these issues common with a kit this large?
+Ryan McAuley If that was ur 4th kit ever, I think maybe its because u didn't do it properly. Otherwise, normally theres no problem. For beginners, try to get HG 1st or simpler MGs
To clarify, I meant its my 4th MG kit. i recently took it apart fully and re-painted it which solved the joint issues since they either got re-seated or the paint added some size, not sure which, the hands still refuse to hold the guns without assistance so i might just swap them to the other MG hand style with the fixed fingers.
@jabman025 Gotcha. White paint is tough to deal with. I painted my OVA MG Unicorn with a battle worn effect. I want to get the Full Armor Unicorn to do a nice clean paint job. Great review and build by you. 5/5
Great review on the kit! This is on my wish list but I dont think il ever get it... like you said. Its more of a collectors piece ^^ my backlog is big enough right now lol :D
but overall i think this is a really great model! it does have a lot of flaws but it simply looks amazing and is SO much fun to build! it will completely dominate your shelf when you have it on there. and in my opinion that alone makes it worth every penny for me^^ i would have loved to see a size comparision with the MG Ex-S though!^^ but FA gundam is right... this really just isnt fair! XD
Can you mount that shield on the back without the gatling guns? Cause if I got this, the ones on the back are going on my OVA version I'd also like to know if you could display the gatling guns on the arms with only the shields.
I got this thing from my brother for christmas... I've started it, got the chest piece and the majority of the head completed, and then the horns weren't gold, and i don't wanna use a sticker... do you know of any specific modeling paint brands, and certain type of glue (the tiny face plate doesn't stay very secure)
I built a special metallic coated unicorn before and the head is kind of janky sometimes I would just leave it and Destroy mode and never touch it again because that's what I did transforming the head back and forth can be janky, and for the V Fen I used paint and a brush the type of paint I used was model Master enamel paint (brass-1782) and a fine tip paint brush, I threw the Vfin sticker away.
@@robertwhite7845 did pretty much the same as you with the vfin except, mine was a custom color i mixed from a matte yellow and metallic gold about 50/50 and it turned out perfect... and the piece that i was thinking about gluing seems to be staying on there pretty well since i put the other folding face plate thing on it and put the building process off for a week or so
I wish this wasn't episode 4's Gunpla kit....I would have rather had the Byalant Custom....oh well, still a Monster of a kit that I honestly would be unable to look at the sea of runners it pushes on you...
Great review as always, I have a question regarding all of the decals. When you did the decals did you just hold the part in your hand and put it on or did you put the part on a alligator clip and then just slap it on, I myself am getting ready to build this kit, its just that in the past I have had trouble putting on the decals, I can do the big ones but when I get to the small ones I just find myself not putting them on straight or I tear into it so any advise will be appreciated,
+GP-04 Gerbera (Destroyer) If my input is of any value, normally to make things simple, I would decal piece by piece without joining them together. That way, its so much easier.
Hey Jabman, Do you think those dual beam battling guns will attach to the MG Heavy Arm VER EW? I have both kits but I looking to re paint the HA to match the paint job in the movie. Wanted to give it the double battling guns if they should fit.

Just needed to ask if I could add LED unit to this kit ?
Wael Mustafa nope, only the perfect grade does that
In theory, it is possible. But it would be difficult and would require some modding of parts to do it.
I sort of did it in my first review
No, the most you'll be able to do is bend the elbows slightly. The arms can't even come close to supporting the weight of the weapons.
Think they'll be an OVA version
wish there was a way to get the green psycho frame without all the weapons.
Easy. Paint the Unicorn's pink psycho frame to green.
Lord Speed I only asked because I want it to be clear still.
There is the mg unicorn titanium ver that comes with a red and a green psycho frame to choose from but it costs even more.
The arms on mine are a bit saggy with everything applied (except the beam effect parts..) But aside from that It is an impressive brick...
