Thanks Jabman! Helps a lot, I hope my local hobby store has sticky tack. And the last bit, yeah I should test the paint before, just in case the color isn't great. Thanks again!
hey jabman don't know if you will see this, but if you'd painted silver (or maybe gold) on the back of the clear psychoframe it would have looked more yellow and still clear.
Alright. Right now I have the head unit and the chest unit finished. The few clear stickers on the front are applied. The color of the psycho frame is slightly off putting but oddly doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Which is surprising. Busy weekend so building this model up is going to take a while for me due to the volume of work for each unit. But that is a good thing. Getting a display cabinet with a lock.
this will be my first painted master grade (if i ever finish it). painted the gold gold and the inner frame "fiery orange", so far, thinking about painting the navy blue black. small hitch though, i ran out of the orange, and wont be able to get another can before i move...so, this kit will sit on a shelf for 3 months or so, until i get back....mocking me the whole time. thanks for another great review!
I picked up the titanium finish. Its a bit pricey but the shine you get from the armor and the actual gold parts is worth it in my humble opinion. (IT LOOKS FREAKING AMAZING)
By the way, you can hook the shield onto the backpack. There's a peg on the other side of that hook that goes into the arm, just flip it around and plug it in. Its not the most secure thing in the world but its there.
I finished mine. I really despise the ankles and hips of this model. They don't help the balance of this kit. Mine when I try and ground pose it kinda likes to sag forward and try and fall over when in destroy mode. Though there were not as many issues when it was in Unicorn mode. Glad they fixed the knees. The build itself was fun
I have this one, RX-78-2 ver. 2.0, and Char's Zaku II ver. 2.0 coming in tomorrow. I also have Exia Ignition Mode in (bought it yesterday on whim over MG 00 Raiser )
honestly man, have you given thumbs down?? its not coz' this is a bad kit its just ive been watching your reviews for ages, i havent remember you thumbs down a kit....love the gold frame by the way
correct me if im wrong but as far as i know it does come with all the pieces to make the novel version. only the beam magnum and the hyper bazooka are missing. your banshee looks nice by the way! although it always peeves me when people paint its frame metallic gold :P i will paint the inside of the frame of mine with a very bright orange UV active paint. the suit is called the psycho flame afterall so i thing that kind of color fits a lot better^^
From what I know, the Nu Gundam ver.ka, the full armor unicorn ver.ka, and the banshee have glowing phycho frames under black light. Possibly the red phycho frame Unicorn suits might have glowing phychoframes but I don't know.
Well it does have the arm pieces and head pieces to make an all black unicorn just no pieces for the beam Magnus. I keep the left arm looking like the unicorn one on mine so I can use the shield. And keep the right one with the railgun.
if you have the unicorn instructions the arms parts came with the banshee to give the banshee normal arms like the unicorn, The the shield should fit like it does on the unicorn.
I painted the purple parts black... but i left the psycho frame alone.. looks ok but i wish i had those silver stickers that the Nu gundam has to kinda reflect the light better. And after seeing the Banshee Norn Gundam... i really really wish they included either the Norn shield or the beam magnum with the attachment
ver informative review i do like the colors of this thing right out of the box and i was leaning towards either him or the ova unicorn but due to personal interest in the colors you sold me on the banshee
i love this reviews. do you your own blog site where we can see pictures of parts?? It would be such a help for me to construct my cosplay gundam suit from it
Hey guys, did you know that the phychoframe glows under black light!!!!!! I'm not kidding. It shown as an image on the side of the box where the phycho frame looks like its glowing, but you won't understand what it is trying to tell unless you can read Japanese. I don't have my own so I don't know how it looks like, but its worth trying out before painting.
Nicely done review. I think I would switch the golds you used though. I like them both and you showed them off well enough that I want to use them for my HG DM Banshee. But I think the Inca Gold is the right brightness for the psycho frame and the Brilliant Gold for the head crest and collar would be... well... brilliant!
Hi, I ordered and bought this model kit today and If I were to paint over stuff, what kind of brand spraypaint do u use and what specific gold color did u use for it? Oh, and how long do u have to wait for the paint to dry??
hey what do you think can we put Gatling gun in they arm with BS weapon (or whatever was that), and how I can make the dark navy blue for the small horn. Also talk about the horns I try to use the action horns and the problem it the action horns will break the small horn but I use superglue before it break then now it fine and work well. One more thing, do you know where I can but some part of Full armor unicorn? because I try to make full armor banshee (not really full like unicorn full armor).
Hey Jab! I love your videos, and I've been a long time subscriber. My question is that the way you paint, I have trouble spray painting my parts sometimes. What are you using to hold the pieces up to paint? I've been using binder clips, and I always get paint on my gloves, it's annoying. Do you have any tips?
Hey jabman, I was wondering what your preference was to gundam markers. Reason being I ordered this kit to come with a metallic gold gundam marker to touch up the horn since Im kindve a noob to painting and the marker seemed easily accessible. But here's the thing, I was thinking of coloring the inner psycho frame with the gold marker, but I'd like to know what your thoughts are towards using markers over traditional paint. Any drawbacks or advantages?
Gonna Build this one when I get the chance during Thanksgiving so anything to watch out for when I am building it? Like should I apply the decals when I have the limbs disassembled? Is the transformation the same as the Unicorn (OVA version)? Also What color Gold should I get if I want it to pop out when in Destroy Mode
When you painted the paychoframe, where there any scratches? I was thinking if painting my full armor unicorn psycoframe with tamiya metallic green. I am just afraid to ruin the paint when i transform it
the issue has less to do with the arm, more with the shoulder, the shoulder strength on Turn X is not quite strong enough to do everything it needs to do, Banshee is
I dont get why people say this gundam is black... to me, in the show, this guy is clearly a dark navy blue and not completely black and most kits represent thag colour pretty well...
How does the painting affect the transformation? I plan on painting mine, but I'm afraid that the paint might stiffen the joints too much and would break if I transformed it.
Do this or the Full Armor Unicorn still have the fragility/brick issues of the original Unicorn? I heard from other reviews that all the Unicorn could do was just stand there
Patrick Vincent Aquino don't know if you are still looking for an answer, but the full armor is kind of a brick, but less because of loose joints, and more because it can't stand on its own because of the backpack. however the banshee isn't too bad, but the best unicorn for articulation is the ova version of the normal unicorn. that's the one I recommend.
Question got this model recently and I’m having problem having the waist stick with the upper body. Is it just a my model kit and how do I go about fixing it
if you mean the transformation part there is a latch on the back to hold it down, if you mean the ball joint at the waist if it is too looks you can use some putty to increase the tightness
@@jabman025 there’s a peg that is supposed to hold the top half and the bottom half together mine is too loose and if I pick it up by the top half the bottom half would just fall off
Too bad you painted the pychoframe. When you shine a black light on it the whole thing looks like it's on fire. Sort of reminds me of the Baltog from Lord of the Rings.
Thanks Jabman! Helps a lot, I hope my local hobby store has sticky tack. And the last bit, yeah I should test the paint before, just in case the color isn't great. Thanks again!

Nice review, jabman. I was wondering, did you prime the psychoframe parts before painting them or did you just straight paint them?
I have the same gundam, and, the phyco-frame was metallic gold

Only bummer with painting the psycoframe is that you don't get to throw it under a blacklight. Thats a true pleasure to show your friends. :3

Apparently my Banshee is the only one with knee problems. Great review!
The gold looks much better than the clear orange! :)
honestly man, have you given thumbs down?? its not coz' this is a bad kit its just ive been watching your reviews for ages, i havent remember you thumbs down a kit....love the gold frame by the way
I prefer the orange over the gold psychoframe. That's how it was in the novel originally.

I just realized that the ustom psychoframe you did, looks more copperish than gold. Still good job, though I also don't really like the psyoframe
how do you transform it, ive been having troubles
hey jadman, they giv the parts for the arms so you can amke kind of a novel version but you still need the weapons...
The gray inner frame (unpainted) kinda bugging me since u painted the gold part.. but u did the great job..
gold looks great jabman

I might get the MG Banshee and pair it with my MG Unicorn OVA Ver.
I repainted the psychoframe gold as we'll. that clear orange looked awful!

where do you put all ur gundams? can you please make a video of all of your collection please
The pycho frame is SUPPOSED to be orange, not yellow or gold, as you'll see in ep 5.
Well I want to get a HG but I don't know which one to buy.
Even though you loose the effect of the glow in the dark of the psychoframe, I think this gold you used is a lot better overall.
my favorite gundam
Hey i know this is too late to ask. but does the paint on the psychoframe got easily damage if you frequently transforming it?
arent they releasing the same only in titanium finish?
What brand of spraypaint did you use for the "brilliant" gold?
Did you use gold spray paint or did you use a paint for each piece?
can you make a video on how to transform it into unicorn to destroyer mode. im confused with the manual

Well, if you watch gundam unicorn ep 5 you can a hole look at the banshee.
did u use white primer before u painted the pyscho frame metalic gold?
so how big is this compared to a standard master grade?
any preferred gold paints for the psycho frame?
As always thanks for the advice.
Can it equip the shield
Though, it does look very nice
they give you some of the parts for the gun, but not enough to make it, they give you nothing for the bazooka
one what gunpla I should buy first?
wat website did u get this kit? and how did it take for u to get this kit?
use uv light after assemble the psycho frame
I got the Gundam 00 for my first, pretty nice cheap kit ;D
When you put the psycho frame together against the blue it looks yellow ._.
thanks, did you also topcoat your kit with krylon matt/flat?
also if you want I can show to you my banshee, maybe it not prefect but it look well.
Oh lol ty xD, so have u decided?
Jabman. Do you use Airbrush or spray cans?
And what kind of primer do you use?
Cool! Thanks :)
if I get this kit could I just spray paints the part while it's on the plates, that the only way I be only to paint this kit.
u could. u could then spray into a jar and use a brush to touch up spots u missed
How do make the shield in this kit ?
where did you get your spray paint?
Good Job. Man
Jabman Could you make a review of Akatsuki gundam?
Is there a fourth unicorn gundam?
so the claw doesnt have problems with its arm but the turn x has a rlly heavy right arm =/ explain for dis ;-;
the issue has less to do with the arm, more with the shoulder, the shoulder strength on Turn X is not quite strong enough to do everything it needs to do, Banshee is
+jabman025 What colors do you recommend when painting the Banshee?
lol i shouldn't have asked lol
+Fioravante Grimaldi use primer before you paint anything that's a dark color
I'll be honest I really wanted the novel version over the OVA version. but great review as always! and your painted psycho frame looks really great =)
Whats the difference between the two of them?
Huh I can't believe you didn't have the problem of the lower waist splitting from the upper those four pegs really do not hold it on well for mine
I have the same problem
How do you make the shield? I don't have the original one.
there's a website called mech9 that should have the unicorn instructions
I want to level up my gunpla skill to painting. this shouldn't be too hard.
I dont get why people say this gundam is black... to me, in the show, this guy is clearly a dark navy blue and not completely black and most kits represent thag colour pretty well...
Alright thank you!
How does the painting affect the transformation? I plan on painting mine, but I'm afraid that the paint might stiffen the joints too much and would break if I transformed it.
it does stiffen the joints a little but honestly the unicorn kit was already loose
@@jabman025 a very late reply but ig its a win and win
Even rg exist nowadays and the mgex or the pg
for the claw, how did you stiffed up the polycaps for the two "top claws" mine after waxing and painting are just still so loose
well I did paint in the inner frame, that probably did it
Do this or the Full Armor Unicorn still have the fragility/brick issues of the original Unicorn? I heard from other reviews that all the Unicorn could do was just stand there

for the psychoframe yes
good for you

Yes both arms are there on the kit the weapons just cover them up
oo...ok...thanks for the info...
id rather buy this from you than from bandai. lol nice gold you used
Hey jabman025, does this kit include extra parts to make a black unicorn gundam?
Pikachu loves Digimon yes it does
Pikachu loves Digimon it's fun to do
Pikachu loves Digimon because all of the parts to make a black unicorn Gundam are interchangeable so you don't have to worry about braking them
between MG Banshee Ver.Ka which would you prefer?
Ferlito delos Santos is there a banshee ver ka?
SUB0sandwich not that I know of. They might be talking about the the regular ver ka vs the banshee
SUB0sandwich there is now
It's a compliment
Sorry for that
how fragile is this kit?
Kim Mike :/ need proof
SealGaming that's some shitty proof. Most, if not all straight build gunpla would brake if you " smashed" them against the wall.
Mat SukaZe if you top coat it 3 or 4 times
I've found that it won't fall apart unless you pry it off or smash it against something
VERY. All of the MG Unicorns have a lot of small parts, and when posing it something is bound to fall off. It also has a very loose waist joint.
Steven Gerdes I just covered it in top coat, I had no issues
btw, this is my first gundam model ive ever bought..lol

about 9 inches
