Sorry we're not keeping up with your comments...we're at the Lonestar Roundup this week. We'll try to catch up soon :)
That hood! Its all angles and curves, every one loves and appreciates these vids, so please persevere for our sakes!
As they say Brent that car is (Tough Enough) it's a Bad Ass build.
Man this build fights you every step, Good job your the metal wizard Brent .
The shape of that car is achingly beautiful.
Most guys move to another project when it’s this hard….YOU find a win and move forward! Inspirational, thank you
If you want to see somebody bounce from one project to the other and never finish...watch bad chad...This channel is a pleasure to watch.
the frustration to the way things are, to the way we want them to be.... life lessons demonstrated in sheet metal work... tenacity, ingenuity, skills...
looking awesome, better every day
Hey Brent, it’s like Alice in wonderland. Each step leads down different rabbit holes. I am glad you share all of this with us as you go through your creative problem solving.
Brent , before the grill had an incline and was parallel with the hood , now it looks to straight up ,so it makes it wider on the top ... ,either way , i'm sure you'll overcome this struggle, and all will fall in place ...✨✨✨✨👍👍
I was just looking to see if anyone else had made this comment. I noticed the change at the start of the video when he made the metal to match the grill to the fenders.
The longer nose on the car does give it a SPECIAL NEW DISTINCTION a adds to its FUTURE beauty . With your excellent eye and knowledge, I know it will STILL BELONG IN " MY " GARAGE !!
Nice, perfect timing. Hope Texas is going well
Yep nice and hot compared to home :)
It’s always a good night when a Brent video pops up.
That car looks super mean, I love it.
What a pleasant surprise! two videos on the same day. I actually didn't expect to see more of this Dodge/Desoto/Plymouth until you got back from Texas.
I'm starting to think there's 2 or 3 Brent's in the world with how much he gets done, I'd be a year getting it this far,,lol
That's what I said he must have a twin or a clone lol guy works hard I'll tell ya that! 😉✌
I like the up close and personal camera better than the camera that follows you around. Actually seeing what you are doing is better for me.
I think you worked for rolls Royce in your past life your work on this build has been magnificent in all the steps you've done brent
Splitting the hood was the best thing to do. Because when you added to the grill shell it got wider. So the hood had to be widen also. I like to watch you work through the hard stuff and the way you think it through. Good job.
The piece on the grill that you just added is making the back of the grill stick-up you have to trim that down in the back on the bottom at the fender and the locks or sitting on top of the fender at the front of the hood that's what's making that stand up. I love your channel keep up the great work and God Bless you and your family Brent. 💯👍👍💪🙏🏼👌
For a man with your skill set and passion its not a problem only a challenge.
This car is pushing you to the limit. It will be your friend in the end. As they say, no pain no gain! The clumsy look of this car is growing on me. Jumping ahead here, I would spray this in a deep copper colour or Ford UK have a colour called aubergine, which is a black metallic with a hint of purple in it. It's a "Dark Horse" for sure.
Hey man, she will look great, do not worry about us, do your thing, cannot wait to see her all finish. Cheers
I’m new here but it’s been a blast to watch you working on your build! I’ve learned a lot that’s helping me on my 1970 Jeep CJ 5 project! It my third year. Thanks!
What A battle. That snowball really grew fast but it's taking shape.👍
Lol. It's looking more and more like a basset hound, not that that's a bad thing. Love what you do.
Wow! And I thought getting the best looking roofline was a project ... This was way more than I expected ... I love the way that every time you hit a roadblock you just work your way through it.
Morning Brent, I like your enthusiasm when you encounter a problem, what's the worst that could happen, you either add or remove steel, but sometimes it's best to walk away, work on something else & think about it...thank you for sharing!!
If it was easy anyone could do it! Watching the transition from what it was to what's going on now is purely miraculous! It's awesome!!
Amen
I feel for you on this one! That ain't no struggle bus, its a train! I have no doubt you will make it work.
This project is certainly an endurance run! A fabricator friend once remarked that working with mismatched pieces and parts was like making chicken salad out of chicken sh*t! Keep up the good work. Your patience and skill are an inspiration.
the car has finally given you it's name. . . Snowball!
Brent that hood and grill were kicking your ass.
It looks fine, there's an old saying that goes " you cant make a silk purse from a pigs ear" and youve done an incredible job salvaging that battered, twisted rusty mess, well done.
Longer hood looks good, but it'll be even better when that new metal gets blended in, to whatever finish
you end up putting on the car.
Brent before you had the top of the grill leaning back at least two inches towards the cab . I've noticed it's moved alot . Ty for the videos
The Frankencoupe is turning out amazing! I'm lovin it!!!
Excellent job on that hud Brent, it was not being cooperative lol. Hey, you got there in the end. 👍👍👍
Wow! What a job. Make a hood that fits better. Best of luck. Thanks Brent.
Minty !
Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out .
Later ...
That’s what I love and look forward to vid because you always have rad rod on the go from nothing to gold .Thanks for building all these hot rods for everyone .Craigger ont🐵
this long front end makes is even better , i like it ...
The lamps on the grill!!! Yeeeeeepp🤗
You are the Man, you over came a big challenge! Looks Good. Great video!
Even at the age of 68 I find your videos and projects very inspirational. I just wish they would have been around 50 years ago? LOL. I Love what you are doing and I just Hope that there are younger ones out there learning from you ! GREAT JOB!!!
stay after it .....i admire how you are determined to get that look you are after!
that longer hood is wonderful.
Brent you have hit a speed bump on the front section of the car but you will get through it and nail it. Thanks for sharing this build. Take care and catch in the next one.
You sir have the patience of a saint. I would have been cussing the leaves off of the trees and throwing tools across the shop. But not you, you always say ok no biggie, we can fix this. You are definitely a "the glass is half full" type of person. You may even be "the glass is completely full" type of person. I honestly don't know how you do it. But props to you. And the car is coming along nicely. I have no doubt, by the time it is complete, it will be awesome. Thanks for entertaining us
Here is a thought, make a new hood! Fairly straight forward, four panels, wire edged with wire hinges. You can install the porthole trim and such from the originals.
I am loving it with that long hood. When you first mocked it up a few videos back you sort of lent the grill back that's why the gap looked a lot smaller. Anyway your eye is so good your car is turning into a future classic. Great work as usual Brent.
Live and Learn, it's a good thing cuz experience is a great teacher!
Thanks for sharing the ‘struggle process’…damn good stuff.
I am going to suggest that you simply cut the side curtains and just lower the bottom half and hope that it lines up with the guards. Good luck with it, I think you are doing a fantastic job. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
That hood is a tough one, but I've been watching you long enough to know that you will prevail.
I sure dont have the patience. I used too. Spent 9 years redoing a bad noisy on a 69 vette.! In the end I actually HATED THAT EUROPEAN BUILT CAR!😂😅🤣i redid a 64 many years ago. 6 months and it was my pride and joy. Never redo a long nose. At 75 I should have stayed with older cars. Great job!!!!
My favourite chill out channel.
It's going to be bad ass when you're done... Great job!
💯👀Nose job came out real nice .. The trip is looking like a great time. Thanks for sharing
It's amazing to have something in your mind and be able to make it
A nightmare of compound curves. Perseverance always wins man.
I love the art deco of the hood
Your good-hearted response when things go wrong inspires us all!
Hello from the Netherlands.
thanks Brent for the video.
Sincerely Hollandduck
That was a struggle. But, you are winning this one, like you do. Good example of the value of patience. 👍🏼
Brett it’s coming along well for far sir. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep making. God bless.
So excited when you put out the videos on your projects, this car is so cool to watch you build
I am liking the whole concept. The headlights on the grill is the right balance. Joe
This Episode was good. I like. You can do it. Come on it is what is it. Right Brent? All good for you
Right on thanks
One other thing always line your hood to cowl first then fenders to hood and last grill shell to hood and fenders it makes life so much better, I'm old God bless
It's about time to walk away and refresh your brain I have to do that myself This thing's been a nightmare trying to figure out But the car is still looking at Absolutely wonderful love this car 1 of the kind that's what makes it neat
like you said some time ago, as long every thing lineups on driver side it's all fine
Yep, practice on the other side so that your best work is on the driver side.
Ein schöner Abendgruss für meine alte Seele wieder einmal. I' verry happy. ... best regards from Germany, are well, ray. I see the Buik in the background....your trip was finished without problems....shure....
That was a tough one Brent, I’m sure you’ll figure it out!! As always.
It looks good to me. Have a great day on your trip.
Love all the hard work
Been their want to see it on fire
I thought to slant the grill back a bit
But after this . . . I leave it to you sir
Wow what a challenge. I know you'll get it looking right.
Another great episode
Always loved the long narrow hood look. I think this one will be a standout classic!!!.....
Wow that was stressful. If i were you I wouldn't make new sides I would just try to fabricate something along the fender hood line. Always amazing you never throw a fit and start tossing tools around. LOL Keep up the good work buddy.
Hey Brent. I build bronze sculptures for a living and we ALWAYS have to cut, re-align, hammer, cut again, weld, hammer, jack into position, heat, hammer and weld in every panel we caste! I feel your pain. Sure looks like you're winning tho!
You make this look too easy. I see no one doing your type projects with such ease and on a budget most could tolerate IF they had the skills. Keep it going.
Maybe the grill for the plymouth hood is narrower, what a battle. The traveling Brent is having a lot more fun I think.
Rember now it's only metal just keep on grinding and cutting she'll come come together eventually. Sometimes they're stubborn and like to play hard to get! 😉✌
Wow, I've never seen you have to fight a build so hard. It's going to be worth it, though.
When doing some of the restorations I've done and we needed a spacer between the fenders and the bodies we took a bicycle inner tube and cut it down to size
Thanks 😊
She is coming together nice
I like each new episode ! I just wish you somebody would do a late ‘50 s Chrysler , Dodge , Desoto , Plymouth . My uncle had a ‘57 - 58 Desoto with a hemi . He’d do what he called “ blastoffs “ , power brake and peel out . Great stuff , great memories !
I was tilting the screen a bit to see better and you know how on flat screens light changes the appearance of the screen? Well for a moment there I'd thought you'd painted the car because it looked like it was painted in light gold with green pearl luminescence. It looked awesome. Then when the screen was where it should be, I saw it was an optical illusion of the rust. In any event, I don't know what color you're planning but in that light gold with a greenish luminescence this car would look fabulous!
Get a perforated sheet of aluminum from metal supermarket for the grille. You could polish it to a chrome like shine.
I like the way your going Brent Looking very nice
Move the side panels with the chrome trim forward to centre the trim then add a section to the rear of the sides at the cowl end Mike from down under
I like this also.... Have a great day.
The added length of the hood IMO will give an even morre classic look. As people come up to it they'll see something it different and they may not be able to put their finger on it....That will be a gas for you to watch them...very suttle and very cool. You'll get it and it is coming along very nicely. LOve the vids. All the best to you the bride and the 4 legged lads!
hey man,it is really starting to really look good.think when back in the early 60's when we had to use lead to finish it.i was working at a custom shop in sacramento california for 10 bucks an hour, and i thought i was in tall cotton.gas was 20 cents a gallon,a coke was 10 cents and a package of camels was 15 cents, bitch'en. gone are the days. ty santee...........on the brazos.
You gave it a good try, I'm sure you will get it. Nice going Brent
Wow that escalated quickly, I have supreme confidence you’ll get it right. Thanks John from Arizona
It seems like the individual projects on this car that you would think would be the easiest are the hardest and vice versa. It’s really looking good though. Not many people would attempt what you are doing. No challenge for your skills. 👍
Afternoon Brent!!!
I always look forward to your new episodes in Paris (France) and I admit that this transformation is exceptional and full of surprises that never leave you without solutions. Well done, really well done.
See you soon
