  • This video does not do the DNV-9, by Hoplite Industries, justice. The quality is degraded by filming on my phone through the NV tube. In real life it is not so grainy and the lines seen going across the screen in this video do not exist. This video is filmed without infrared illumination and the unit is still very usable although IR illumination does improve the visual experience. Video with IR illumination coming soon. Along with a full review.
This unit is not perfect but it a very usable and an affordable option with upgrades to the unit and software coming very soon.
I am making these videos because as of right now I can only find videos from foreign customers without a very big following. I am an impartial American customer that is just looking to see at night while still being able to afford to feed my family.
Please take a moment to like and subscribe so I can grow my channel and reach more people who are looking for an affordable answer.

ngl these couldn’t even compare to the nvg 30 the new gen nvg is 100x better 60fps compared to the 40 on the nvg 30 and the sensor is so much better on these

I dont believe the sensors are different. They're the same series of imx starvis 2. I know this because im am currently developing my own digis and was planning on working with hoplite for sensors because they have them in analog output.

Not requiring IR illumination seems to obviate the most important benefit of analog NV, but would you say analog NODs still provide a towering advantage over this or do these provide a viable alternative for more budget constrained consumers?

@@madeconomist458 hey man, so I will tell you they are close. These are the gen 1 which Hoplite doesn’t even sell anymore on their website. I am hoping to get the gen 2s soon, which is suppose to be even better. Especially if you want dual or even quads these work just fine. I am still trying to find a flat range to shoot with them on after dark. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will release a video shooting so I can give you an idea then. But yea there is very little lag they are very clear. They are in color. The tech Hoplite uses with these make is look like you are looking through them as well unlike other digital unit which you look at a little screen in-front of your eye which fatigues your eye quickly. Also yes is you are in very low light you will need IR but if you are operating/larping in a semi lit urban area you really don’t need the IR at all. Watch a couple more of my videos and you will see what I am talking about. Also I just made a video where I go over what I learned from an interview with the CEO. Please give me a sub. Hope this helped and wasn’t too wordy lol

@@BoogalooBilly Sounds very promising. I wonder how it compares to the Sionyx Opsin which I'm told is pretty worthless as an NV aiming device.

@@madeconomist458 wish I could tell you. I can’t find the weight but I’m pretty sure it a lighter than the Opsin. The DNV9 doesn’t have a lot of features that make it heavier like digital zoom, built in IR illuminator, screen record, memory card. Idk which of those the opsin has from off the dome but I know it isn’t as stream lined as the dnv9. But keep watching and hopefully I will do a night shoot soon.

They're using a sony starvis 2 sensor. The nvg30 is Also using an sony starvis 2 sensor. I believe they're the same ones but with different coding obviously. Im currently building my own with sony starvis 2 imx 700 series but built in analog configuration paired with an OLED display. Mine will have 4 settings. 30 fps 40 fps 60 fps and 90 fps. Using a sing 18650 cell with onboard charging and use while charging. This is the new night vision tech. Analog is coming to an end. With these sensors latency is no longer an issue. The only issue is lag but with the new sensor technology improving every year its only a matter of time before that too is no longer a problem.

@luciankristov6436 that sounds sick man, I wish I was that tech savvy but at you see I can hardly capture a decent image on my iPhone X. This tech is so exciting though. I need to do a lag test. Running, driving, shooting. I tried a driving test in my neighborhood but the street lights were so bright it didn’t even make since for a test. Thanks for the insight and the comment please like and sub.

You’re getting 90fps? You going to produce these things ? And what’s it based off the pvs 69 or some such?

How long did that shipping form NZ take?
    Thanks in advance!

I need someone to send me those units or pay me to do it lol my wife about killed me for spending the mere 1700$ on the dnv-9. And the shipping was lighting fast. They used DHL it was like 4 or 5 days. That being said it did not ship on time, which I appreciate because it is a first gen start up product. It had some hick ups they had to fix before sending it out, their are even more hick ups that they are working through, which I will talk about on an upcoming video. But customer service has been great and they are fixing these small things.

For these gen 1 binos about 2k before their presale discount. They have gen 2 coming out around July according to some emails I have had with their team. They are about 500$ more but suppose to be way way better, which gets me excited cuz I am pretty impressed with the visual quality of the gen 1. More videos to come please like and sub. Thanks for the comment. And here is thier website so you can take a look at the prices and discounts. Also they have military and first responder discounts if you contact them.
