Florida man chased by gator under night vision!!!!- DNV9 lowlight test
In this video I take a walk through the woods to test the low light capability of the DNV9 by Hoplite Industries.
Next I take it to an office building complex to show a transition of lighting in a urban setting.
While near a lake I hear a massive splash at the waters edge and I turn and run for my life not stopping to check if the gator was coming after me or what. Unfortunately I was not filming but I recall my story for the camera. #gunstuff #affordable #dnv #florida #floridaboy #hoplite #nightvision #nods #nv #water #floridaman #dnv9 #hoplite #hopliteindustries #wps #warriorpoet #warriorpoetsociety #Johnlovell #gators #gator #aligators #aligator #woods #walkinthewoods

Bad reviews can be a death sentence for small start up companies. PNWGUERRILLA’s review makes some decent points but how he did it was criminal. He opens with all doom n gloom. Most people aren’t going to watch a 45 minute review of a product that they have low confidence in in the first place because digital night vision has a strong negative stigma. I managed to find PNWguerrilla's review. Overall it seems that HopliteIndustries seems to be fixing all the problems you mentioned in the video but one big thing that seems unmentioned in this response that concerns me greatly is PNW's assessment that the DNV-9 is totally unusable for combat since it virtually always requires an IR illuminator in low-light environments. Would you say that is fair or accurate in your experience with this unit? Could that be related to the fact that PNW reviewed the monocular while you are using binoculars? $2500 for a set of NV binoculars sounds pretty incredible but not if you'll look like a christmas tree to anyone with even a $400 pair of digital NODs, and certainly not when you can pick up a Jerry-31 for $4k. But if $2500 can actually give you a fighting chance against other people with digital NV, that's a worthwhile investment if you ask me.

I am still trying to find a flat range to shoot with them on after dark. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will release a video shooting so I can give you an idea then. But yea there is very little lag they are very clear. They are in color. The tech Hoplite uses with these make is look like you are looking through them as well unlike other digital unit which you look at a little screen in-front of your eye which fatigues your eye quickly. Also yes is you are in very low light you will need IR but if you are operating/larping in a semi lit urban area you really don’t need the IR at all. Yes, digital can’t compete - we all get that. However, digital is catching up rapidly. Good review - will be interesting to see how far the New Zealand folks can take the technology. Having something that works is what’s key. A lot of the people smashing this guy for running a digital set up, likely have nothing at all. I have an old (I mean old) PVS-7 and guess what? It’s not a $12,000.00 bino, but it works. For things that go bump in the night, I have an NVG30 mounted on a bump helmet. Guess what? It works too. Thanks for the review man. Going to subscribe to see where the NZ unit goes, but it looks promising.

@billysherman2702 Cool, I’ve never tried one, my argument over the nvg30 is bulk. These tubes don’t have all the features such as record and zoom and built in IR that some of the other digital NV have which reduces weight and and streamlines the design. Not to mention you can get there in panoramic for less than 4 grand before and discounts. Also because it doesn’t have a record function I have to record with my phone through the tube and it is like looking through the tube instead of at a screen with their technology. They're using a sony starvis 2 sensor. The nvg30 is Also using an sony starvis 2 sensor. I believe they're the same ones but with different coding obviously. Im currently building my own with sony starvis 2 imx 700 series but built in analog configuration paired with an OLED display. Mine will have 4 settings. 30 fps 40 fps 60 fps and 90 fps. Using a sing 18650 cell with onboard charging and use while charging. This is the new night vision tech. Analog is coming to an end. With these sensors latency is no longer an issue. The only issue is lag but with the new sensor technology improving every year its only a matter of time before that too is no longer a problem.
