    The reason amp designers use 12ax7s is because the structure lends itself to the preamp section. There are two parts to an 12ax7. Also an ECC83 is a 12ax7 just a European designation.

      I just recently learned about the ECC83 being pretty much a 12 AX7 haha all good stuff to know

      If you get the chance they are awesome! Even the smaller lunchbox ones like this fireball. Also Synergy has an Engl module of the savage that is another great option!

    Landon sent me and I’m glad I came here. Great video. For me, it’s a toss up between the Peavey and the Orange. I love the peavey for obvious reasons but the orange has a great bite to it. I want them both. 😂🎉

      @southernpanda33 hello, welcome to my channel 😄 Landon is an awesome guy.
      I'm glad you enjoyed this video! I love the peavey as well. The 6505+ was my first tube amp ever so naturally I have to get the mini version. And the orange dark terror ended up being a used gem that I found at guitar center haha all of these amps are awesome, but for me the revv g20 I think is my favorite.
      Have a great day, and thank you so much for checking out my channel! 😁

    This one came at the perfect time, I'm debating picking up the Revv or the ENGL right now

    • @KaiDown
      @KaiDown 10 місяців тому +4

      Yeah, that really helps out. Personally, I'd rank them Revv>Mesa=ENGL>Peavey>Victory>Orange. Orange was pretty fizzy and harsh, Victory was narrow, and Peavey had that classic thud to it which I didn't love in this context. Revv was suuuper well-balanced sounding, I always love their high gain sounds.

    • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  10 місяців тому +1

      Hey Kai, I hope all is going great!
      Really glad I was able to help ya with this video.
      Bothe the Revv and Engl are awesome amps. I do tend to get a bit more use out of the Revv. I just love the tones that they give us. And like you said it's pretty well balanced which gives alot of options.
      The Fireball is great too, but tends to be just mainly for Hi gain tones. The cleans are alright, but I'd prefer other amps for clean. But hi gain is where the Engl shines. Though be careful with the presence knob, because it's very powerful and it's easy to get too much harsh fizz in the top end.
      Thank you so much for watching! 😁

    • @Leychen
      @Leychen 10 місяців тому +1

      I'd say: if you're european buy the Engl, if you're american buy the Revv
      ...Unless money is no issue, in that case: If you want a gain knob to dial in overdriven sounds with your clean channel (without pedals) the Engl nails that, if you have pedals and want included Torpedo it's the Revv ofc

    6505 MH and the Victory Kraken stood out to me.

    • @user-qy9bf7wd1j
      @user-qy9bf7wd1j Місяць тому +1

      I agree they were both standing more out of the mix and sounding in front of the sound with more room
      The Orange and Mesa did too but in a very harsh way.
      And the Engl and Revv were too much swallowed by the rest.
      But inrespect you can also mix the other amps to be more then they gave here.
      And sometimes you might go more for a thiner and smoother mix sound.

  • @OfficialSNMvids
    @OfficialSNMvids 6 місяців тому +1

    Isolated tones I liked the Badlander and the Fireball most, but when you jam all the amps in the mix I liked them all!? I would say you can't go wrong with any of these amps so it's really up to what tones and features you are looking for. Great little shootout! \m/

    @Darth.Shredder 5 місяців тому +2

    Nice shootout! Very well done. The Fireball 25 is such a beast. I've got a roomful of amps but that one gets played more than anything else. Did you have the mid boost engaged? IMO. the 6L6 power tubes in the Fireball and Kracken put them on a whole other level compared to anything with EL84's or 6V6's. The Marshall DSL20 is another one with big boy power tubes that stands out against most lunchbox amps (EL34's).

    • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey thank you so much for enjoying my video! I did not have the mid boost engaged. On the fireball I find that it tends to be too much to my ears. But I like the mid boost on the bigger amps.
      I definitely love all of these amps. Ever since my first lunchbox amp. I have a hard time going back haha they are so convenient and they sound great!

    I think the Fireball is my middle ground from your video here. The Kraken seems super forward and comes out in the mix the most with the Rev Behind that. Never liked the Orange tiny amps. Thanks for the video man!

    12AX7=ECC83
    ECC83 is just the european name for american 12AX7 tubes
    ...unlike russian version 6Н2П (6N2P) tubes which are roughly the same but only allow lower heater voltage

    • @dryzd

      It's working with 16 ohm speakers too. You have to use 8ohm switch pressed. That information is in the manual.

    • @AT-wl9yq
      @AT-wl9yq 3 місяці тому +1

      The higher the impedance, the less hard the amp has to work. You won't have issues using this amp with 16 ohm speakers, but you may have problems using one of the other amps on a 4 ohm speaker. Also tube amps use output transformers which forces a speakers impedance to be the same across at all frequencies, and that helps quite a bit. Most solid state amps don't use them, so the amps power output varies with frequency.

    Well what I think is, A UA-cam creator that thumbnails' "The Ultimate Lunchbox Amp Shootout"
    And at the end, Doesn't have a favored choice or even an opinion on which amp performed/rated higher.
    For even his own primary needs,
    Maybe the title of the video Shouldn't "The Ultimate Lunchbox Amp Shootout"?
    Perhaps a more descriptive title would've been
