I have been sworn off wireless audio recording gear for years until now. I've used wireless systems in the past and have lost signal many times , losing irreplaceable audio. The DJI mics have restored my faith in wireless audio gear. The backup recording is the feature that ultimately made me buy these but I also love the magnetic clip, manual settings and mobile phone compatibility.

Literally THE BEST product review EVER... it was so genuine, it didn't even FEEL like a product review. It was literally like going for lunch with friends and hearing about what they had to say about wireless mics. AH-MAY-ZING job!!! 😃
What effects/adjustments do you make to improve the quality? You mentioned something after saying the RAW audio was lacking
Great video and love the LowerPro backpack. Loving mine too. I agree that it would be nice if the hard case had room for even one cord for camera attachment and the windsock.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Bro how is this guy not at 1 million subscribers yet? If he isn't now he'll get to it in a few years. This is single-handedly the BEST mic review I have ever heard. Man puts so much effort. Love your videos Ben, keep going and inspiring more creators.
Thank you!! I’m glad your finding value in the content!
Nice video-I appreciate the variety of sound demos. I’ve been using this mic for months and LOVE it.
Glad you enjoyed it Steven!
super helpful video! & the quality *chef kiss* thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this Ben. You have no idea how much this video helped me. Have had the DJI mic for a little over 5 Months, but with the worst settings. Sounds so much better now, after watching this as well as your audio settings video w/ Final Cut Pro. Thank you 🙏🏾
Glad I could help!
Nice one Ben, and congrats on the course!
Thanks Damian!
You have made me excited about these Mics again having purchased them a few months ago, but I really need to get into the post processing as I didn’t like the raw sound as much as my other mics. Better get on with it !!
Definitely have to do some work to get it sounding high quality.
Love how you put this together, the editing is so entertaining! 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video man! Don't stop creating and keep inspiring us! 🔥
Thanks for the encouragement!
Hello and thank you for the time and energy you put in your videos. I learn from your videos all day. I want to step out and start a cooking channel , buy i don't know what equipments to get like camera mic lights and others. My kitchen is small and is in the basement.
These mics are a great option. I’ve got lots of videos on different recommendations on my channel. check it out
Thanks Ben! subbed!
Thanks for the sub!
Great video, did you ever run in to issues when using it with your iPhone?
Nope!
@@benjohnsoncreative I just sent mine back last week. I didn’t know you were in Atl. I’m in Macon! I had issues with my first set recognizing that the receiver was plugged into the iPhone…
Hello sir first question is which mic is best dji vs rode
Second question
which type mic best for voice over youtube video.
Usb type wireless shotgun and any other plz reply
What you tell in the beginning is exactly what happened to me using dji mics and the readon I don't trust wireless mics.
It’s not a fun experience! That’s why I love the backup , internal recording these mics offer. It’s a great peace of mind
Great video
Thanks Elijah!
This was a great video and fun. I have the Rode Go 2s and they work great for me but I may grab these too. 😂
The Rode Go never did it for me 🤣
@@benjohnsoncreative Dang!!! 🤣
When plugging the transmitter into a PC, will it keep the transmitter charged?
Yes the DJI has set the pace for years. But it has its problem: interference when using most connected lavs!
There are several excellent wireless mics at a fraction of the cost: Fulaim X5; Boya Boyalink; Hollyland Lark Max.
You do NOT need to pay $350 for quality audio.
I’ve never had interference issues with it but that’s why I love the internal backup recording option!
@@benjohnsoncreative Glad that you've not had a problem but LOTS of others have!!!
Any problems with the lightening connector?
Ben, do you know if you can replace a transmitter (let's say one gets lost)?
I’d reach out to DJI’s customer support
Ben, just coming back to this excellent video. I finally have time to start using these properly. I have been testing various scenarios, and it's all going very well. Took me awhile to work out how to get a sync'd stereo track, but with one mic on each channel, then the local backup track all working in Davinci but THERE WE GO !! Listen, probably a stupid question, so apologies in advance. Would you ever use a boom mic (something like the Sony one I have that connects to the hot shoe) + both these Mics? I will give you a scenario. My 3 year old is running around the Garden, I want my wife and I with the DJI Mics on, but I don't want to miss the Audio from my daughter speaking/laughing etc. Is this even possible? as clearly I can't give my daughter one of the Mics, she will pull it off her clothes immediately. Just wondering how you as an experienced professional would do that? or is it really one or the other? I can't see how I would be able to use all three anyway, unless I record the Video clip with the Boom Mic, and import only the local direct recordings from each Mic and mix them together in post? mmmm maybe I just answered my own question .. but what do you think?
The only issue I see is that you wouldn’t boom one of the Sony ECM mics because they only connect via hotshoe (unless you have the ECMG1 and it only works with certain cameras). But you could definitely use a shotgun mic on camera or boom a different shotgun mic to capture her audio. Then you would record the DJI mics internally (not using the receiver) and sync it all in post.
Hope that helps!
@@benjohnsoncreative awesome !!! Thanks Ben just was doing my head in trying to work out how to do this !!
It can be tricky to work through those types of things - sometimes talking it out helps! Good luck!
@@benjohnsoncreative and I really appreciate it thanks ! Really enjoying your Videos btw. You have really helped me with my setup and progress
How tough you find the DJI mic? Did it ever fall while clipping on the shirt? Like accidentally falling off when handling the transmitter.
Never. I usually use the magnet and have never had that issue
@@benjohnsoncreative Thanks. Did it ever get dropped due to clumsiness? As it is tiny in size, so was concerned if it would withstand 3-4 feet of accidental drop.
I haven’t dropped it, although as with most things I’m sure if it dropped on concrete or tile it could have some damage but I haven’t had any issues
@@benjohnsoncreative Thanks. How tough you find removing the adapters from the receiver? Sometimes, I feel I am putting too much force on the receiver when holding it to remove the adapter. Was it normal for you also during the initial days?
Nice video Ben. Can the course be 50%
For you, sure 🙂
Use code ACCESSORIES50
What’s up Ben Johnson 😁
What’s up 😎
Not only dji but also the strangers
Off topic but I can't decide what topics to cover. I'm interested in everything. My ADHD makes me hate being limited to one topic or idea. I've been trying to start a channel or podcast for like 4 years 🤦♀️ help!
If your goal is to make money with it, even a full time income, I’d focus on search based, ever green content. Tutorials are a great way to do that, and you’re most qualified to talk to who you’ve been. Beginners in your field of interest
You weren’t monitoring the audio? Lol I always have headphones plugged in.
I had backup files - still not a fun situation to be in
Can you go live on this?
Only problem is I can't find a good lab that works with it
I’ll have to test out different lavs and see what I like best
@@benjohnsoncreative let me know what you think!
This thing sounds like a portable Shure SM7b what!?!?!?
I’m loving it!
