I adore this film, so I'm thrilled that you love it. It has such humor and heart and peace. Fun fact, that's how I want to go out: doing something exhilarating when everyone else has decided that I'm too old for it.
The moment where the real characters are show and what happened to them after the events, is always my favorite part of movies inspired by real stories. The real Philippe passed away last year at 72 years old.
This movie was the reason i fell in love with classical music. Especially ludovico einaudis music. Also on youtube only handful of channels have actually reacted to this gem, it is an amazing feeling to see when guys like you walking through the emotions just like me when i saw this first time. Great reactions. Thanks.
Can I ask you, when the moustache is made, subtitles show us Freddie Mercury, but the actors say something like Jose Bovee? Who do they mean? Do French people call Freddie Mercury something else, or are the subtitles wrong?
@@nieksalomons Jose Bové is a French farmer, syndicalist, politician and activist. The subtitles said Freddy Mercury because a non French audience wouldn’t know who he is. That’s the basis of localisation and is done in every language. It’s basically just adapting the text to make it understandable and relevant to a foreign audience. It’s like how jokes and puns aren’t translated literally as well but usually just replaced by something that convey the same feelings.
@@henriquelinopacheco15 Thinking in that line, I would personally say that Ong Bak could be bigger than both, maybe combined. But since most people watches by pirating it, its hard to measure
HOW DO YOU WATCH BRAZILIAN THINGS WITHOUT THESE THINGS BEING BRAZILIAN? There's a Channel Which always stream movies at afternoon, its known as "sessão da tarde" (afternoon's Session) and I saw this movie on It like three times. Its not as common and known in Brazil as "white chicks", but as someone who Watched a lot of sessão da tarde I think this movie is known here too
@@throfur3489 I don’t think it directly competes with the original, that would be quite pretentious. It’s an american approach to the same story, so it reaches people that the original movie doesn’t (as any adaptation does). I’m neither american nor french, yet I feel lucky to have access to both movies and to be amused by what both of them have to offer.
Don't think that my reaction is bad because it is a copy but the American remake of the french version of "the intouchable" is just a piece of shit. The actors are good but the movie itself, how it is made etc is really bad. I wanted to watch the Hollywood version and I simply hated it. I lost my time l, so stupid bad copy...
Not sure why the states always has the need to remake a masterpiece movie made somewhere else. Just release the film in the states with either dubbing it or putting subtitles..Americans are not stupid & I’m sure they can appreciate a foreign movie..give them more choices than just American based themes & marvel heros..
Welcome to watch a French masterpiece 🎬 It's a true story that moves us, but also manages to make us laugh despite the presence of a heavy handicap. Many profound things are tackled in this film ... differences in our society ... the stigmatization of less-educated "children" from the suburbs ... the importance of things in life ... money vs. health vs. happiness etc. ... the value of friendship As the "real" Philippe said, it was easier for him to become handicapped by being very rich ... that's for sure, but that's not everything!!!! Friendship was the real rescue for him 🥹🫶🏻
The Hollywood version of the french masterpiece is a US piece of shit. Don't make me wrong the actors are good but the way how they turned the story, there is no emotions, no good feeling... I felt like the US producers wanted to make a comedy instead of a drama/comedy.

I see somewhere that considering non american movies this is the most watched in world. The second one is City of God

Fantastic movie. Hollywood even made their own version (and I liked it, great casting). Hope you’re feeling better now!
thank you i’m better ❤️
Have do respectfully disagree, thought the US version was horrible. But I guess most would after seeing the original.
