Wow, I love this telecast. Best race coverage I've ever seen. I wish there was a show like this I could watch on cable TV. The way they set the cameras up like a motocross race was excellent!
Great RC Race Commentary. Best I've ever heard! Drake was on rails! Unreal. Drake is a class act. Very humble and down to earth in his interview. Well done!
Awesome! I was at the top of my game at the age of 12 when i participated in the european championships. I'm 35 now and i NEED to get back into this! Great racing people
Wow back in the 80s when I got hurt in motocross I did this for a little. Had a RC-10. Then got back into motocross. Now the tracks ive seen on here look amazing, and the cars. Might have to get into it again now that im older.
To cool a race and how great to hear Mr. Hindaugh commenting on this one as well. Covering the worlds great endurance races and still having the passion and humbleness for RC racing to comment. Good on you Mr. Hindaugh ! ;-)
>the cars do not flip in mid air because you can alter the attitude of the car while in flight by hitting the brakes to bring the nose down or giving it some throttle to bring the nose up . >Drivers stand on a raised stage called a rostrum where they can see the full track >The cars in this race are bought as a chassis only and engine ,tyres, electrical gear and handset have to be bought seperate. >The cost of most of these setups is around £1000 or $1600 including handset Hope this helps
I raced motocross for 10 years, had several sponcers, was racing the gnc series, got hurt very bad and Now I cannot even ride, I think i found my new addiction.
on the "drivers stand" usaly about 8ft to 14ft above the track, so you can see. its at the side where they one camera is , when you see them pit, thats where they stand but above the people that do the pit work.
Imagine they done racing like this.. same power to wieght ration etc...but only 10/10 scale... The jumps would be absolutely massive.. and the cars.. well the cars would make the Veyron look like a baby stroller haha.
@Jason1Pa There is a little box called a transponder in each of the cars and a timing loop built in the track the picks up the signal from the transponders. A computer keeps tracks of lap times and number of laps.
Just to answer a few of the questions that have been asked in the comments >This track is at Harper Adams institute in the UK and is constructed each year just for this event. >This is 1/8th scale buggies that run on nitro fuel >They pit because a fuel tank is only capable of 7-10 ish minutes of racing >Yes this type of racing happens every week at tracks all over the country , in most countries especially the USA and UK
i do private racing with friends and stuff and i knew they did have international competitions but i didn't know they took it this seriously. they have got pits and everything! i went to a track for a birthday and that was fun but i know that my fuel tank runs out after a couple of minutes and im never driving as aggressively as this. it's briliant it should be better respected as a sport because for those who don't have nitro cars its is hurrendous fun.(i think i spoke too much)
The vehicles in the video are 1/8 scale buggies. If you get a kit and get the engine, radio, servos, and whatever you need to complete it, it can cost you around $1000. If you get a ready to run it can cost you from $300 to $700. You get these rc cars at hobby shops or online.
these (nitro) are big boy toys and this is a world championship, you dont just show up and get in, you have to win your way there so this is important for them
@louisandjon Yes the trophy 3.5 is a good buggy . Its based on the HB lightning stadium Pro which was a race model a few years ago and now HPI produce it as a RTR kit . the engine is very capable too. If you are having problems starting it then I would presume its either the way the engine is tuned (too rich or lean ) , a bad plug (could have been damaged due to it being run rich when first started . a plug can be bad and still fire the engine up but just be inconsistant ) .
where is this race? I used to have an RC10 back in 1991. Too bad in Mexico City they don´t organize this kind of racing with this level of driving. Nice memories.
i have a hyper 7 rtr. ended up paying 370$ for the car and all the extra stuff i bought with it. It runs really well. I race it against 2 hyper 8s an associated and mugen and I do real well against them even better sometimes. They might be checking the temp. They refuel and see if it is running good and if anything is broken like macks said.
@BelankoBeats 1/8th scale, here's specs from one of the cars: Wheelbase: 327mm, Length: 495mm, Width: 307mm. Probably using a .21 or .28 engine (not sure what the rules are here)
@venustas99 It's funny because it's true. Nobody gets hurt in wrecks, big air, fast, and loud... I have been watching these videos and have been looking up Kits for a few days now. I am definitely getting into this haha.
@xXSuperPervertXx I'm not entirely sure, actually, but I suppose as long as any modifications are within the rules (like the proper engine displacement and such) you can get away with it. ...on another subject, anybody wish there were full-size buggies built like these things? That'd be SUCH a rush!

that yello car has been nicely tricked out, plus the way they hop over the ramps is just too cool!
by far the best rc clip, nice commentary, and track
To cool a race and how great to hear Mr. Hindaugh commenting on this one as well.
Covering the worlds great endurance races and still having the passion and humbleness for RC racing to comment. Good on you Mr. Hindaugh ! ;-)
I sure do wish they had races like this in Minnesota. Because i have a car that would pull some good times.
its so entertaining watching those little buggies catch air
Thanks for posting these RC videos.

great, really great, once the star wars films were abolished by all countrys on earth, progress was sped up completely.
rc are cute it so funny to watch it, they are a small car but can put a amazing smile to the people
This is much more interesting then real car racing!
i love it when the cars flip because i know the drivers must be wicked pissed haha

kool i wish i had one i didnt know how popular this was
this should have more views than football

Man, I'm not sure why this isn't on ESPN or something. This is more intense the half the crap I find on there.
this reminds me of one of those video games where you lose where you are and think youre controlling something you arent.
great footage!
that looks really fun but hard at the same time
Wow, this was actually pretty exiting!

I think i know what my new hobby is gunna be
@wildbings the suspension is oil filled for good pre-load and landing and they can control pitch in the air
Difficulty is just f***ng insane!
Imagine they done racing like this.. same power to wieght ration etc...but only 10/10 scale... The jumps would be absolutely massive.. and the cars.. well the cars would make the Veyron look like a baby stroller haha.
amazing! seems to be very difficult, but those jmpes!
@Jason1Pa There is a little box called a transponder in each of the cars and a timing loop built in the track the picks up the signal from the transponders. A computer keeps tracks of lap times and number of laps.

this is as exciting as a motocross race!
louisandjon - the winner adam drake is using a "losi 8 2.0 race roller" with a "nova rossi +4 off road nitro engine".Its a race winning set up..

that was awesome!
Fuckin Awsome!! I'd Love to race RC's pro on sweet tracks like these. What a blast it must be! Cheers, IC.
Awesome vid!! Thanks!
Sweet race.

Wow...great drivers.
Or more exciting then a real one!

WOW!! i never new they take this so seriously with commentators and everything!!
More exciting than NASCAR where people die in crashes. LOVED IT!!
adam drake is not to bad for a beginner.hes getting much better with time.
but this type of commentating is very entertaining... i would not watch this video over and over if it wasnt for him
this is awsome
@venustas99 It's funny because it's true. Nobody gets hurt in wrecks, big air, fast, and loud... I have been watching these videos and have been looking up Kits for a few days now. I am definitely getting into this haha.
kewl y not on tv rc cars r freaken awsome
some of the jumps are sssoo neat, its like an illutions when they get air Xd
I would love to do this it looks fun.
For anyone wondering, in the pit stop they fill up on nitro.
They watch from a place where they can see the whole track, you have to have good orientation.
man these are fast!
i prefer this over normal racing, they just have to add weapons to the cars and then you've got a completely safe death race
WoW!! what a genious!!!
how the hell do they controle things things so well on these tracks...crazy
Looks like fun
@matteoprez How can you get excited over baseball and football? The world may never know.
@rcsage7 Kinda of. It runs on gas so it goes wayyy faster than battery powered.
Very nice
@MrHalo3Fan10 yes, you just have to know where to look.
do some searching online.
ive always wondered how do ppl keep track of their cars.. and how can they see where it iss from so far away... thats crazy..
He's coming out the pits AND OMG THEY"RE SIDE BY SIDE
thanks for reminding me :)
Holy Crap :D Epic pit :P
LOL I love how the announcer acts like its the F1 live on tv or something
@xXSuperPervertXx

...on another subject, anybody wish there were full-size buggies built like these things? That'd be SUCH a rush!
How can they keep track of who is in what postion? With flips, pit stops and everything it would get really confusing
thanks snoopy
well done
this is badasssss
nice triple
