Rainfall in the SUMMER can have the Smallmouth Bass CHEWING!

Anytime during the summer months, a solid rainfall will get the fish moving and hunting. This was a perfect example of a float trip I completed recently after a solid rainfall event. The fish were aggressively eating the 5-inch trace and crushing the larger 4.25-inch hellgrammite dragged along the bottom. If you have rivers and creeks near you, a little rainfall can turn those dreaded summer grindy-type days into very productive times on the water!
