While I mostly don’t really agree with that, since it’s parents who need to detect and recognize when their children are going down a rabbit hole. We raised tougher men back then. Now you have absent parents who rather give their kid a phone at 5 instead of raising them directly and teaching them things like firearm safety and other skills. Worse is we are giving kids experimental drugs and body altering surgery instead of giving true medical care for mental illness. These are bad times and we did it to ourselves.

How effective they are though is a wonderful question. I also believe it is completely okay to have movies and games that include guns and the like. It is when they are glorified, like you said, that it becomes problematic. When those movies and games are presented to young children with unstable or very immature minds, and are entered into a group that DOES glorify it, that it becomes problematic. The problem (from my young and dumb conclusion) is the premature exposure of this violence to young kids and the lack of help offered to kids struggling with other problems
