I WANT TO THANK THIS FRENCH CHEF FOR HIS REGARD TO OUR QUEEN ELIZABETH THE 2ND. YOU CHEF HAVE OUR BEST WISHES FOR TREATING OUR QUEEN WITH THW HIGHEST RESPECT.X
When we compare this video to Secrets of the British Royal Kitchen, there are striking differences. The Elysee chef has control over the menu and makes his side dish decisions at the last minute, based on produce available. In England, however, the Queen personally approves all menus and preparations are rehearsed so that each event works like a master production. None is focused on planning and the other on inspiration. Fascinating.
In England the Chef presents multiple proposed menus to the King/Queen Consort, based on the products available ..the monarch decides amongst the multiple menus presented to her, taking into consideration the visiting dignitaries diet preferences, especially if it's religious dignitary...For Hindus, the monarch might chose a vegetarian dinner, For Muslims, the palace will serve only halal meat...also the monarch will take into consideration, the personal preferences of the visiting dignitary as well
Chef Guillaume is to be commended for his attention to detail and his award. Everyone takes their part of the job very seriously and because of that everything turns out the best.

You want to know something funny? The french President is officially a monarch but not of France. The title of head of state of France comes with the title of Prince of Andora because it is something that carried from the Ancien Régime. In France, wine making, baking & cheese making are held in high esteem, as an Englishman making cheese for a French company I am met with surprise & some esteem too.
Brits are no slouches when it comes to cheese-making. I'm thinking of real Cheddar, Double Gloucester, Stilton... But well done on getting plaudits from the French in your profession.
@@karent-s7639 Worked at Neiman Marcus for their gourmet food department, where they once carried a great selection of imported European cheeses, including English cheeses, such as Stilton, and Gloucester Cheddar. After a history of war between the two countries it is nice to see a formal dinner being put together.the documentary that shows it in this fashion is also amazing to see!! Love it

Such sophisticated pallets. The French are true lovers of food. They also have the best accents in Europe. Incidentally, its not the " Queen of England " she was the Queen of the United kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland ". Her mother was Scottish, her ancestors were Scottish and Welsh ( Tudors) and a few Germans...
Her Mother wasn't Scottish. Elizabeth Bowes Lyon was born in, England, at a place in Hertfordshire, north of London. And Yes, Elizabeth was the Queen of England! Scotland never had a Queen Elizabeth in the past, so how could it have a Liz Two?? Just as Charles III, is King of England. He is not the King of Scots. None He or his mother took the Scottish Coronation Oath. Therefore they were not properly legitimate Scottish Monarchs, regardless of the English propaganda!
@TheCrazyKid1381 On another end, personal usefulness would be relevant only to those who require to justify their standing in society to their peers, or their superiors. By definition, a monarch may find such a position difficult to relate to.
It angers me that the United States won’t allow non pasteurized fine French cheese, but will allow GMO’s, artificial colors & flavorings, cloned meat & Lord knows what else..
I was raised in cheese farmer, people used buy cheese milk, butter I never heard someone got sick with them. Also, butter was make of whey, after take casein for cheese production. Comercial milk lack of everything, just water some casein.

The title of head of state of France comes with the title of Prince of Andora because it is something that carried from the Ancien Régime. Of course the presidents have abandoned any responsabilities that comes with the title but they still officially have it. It is also the only temporarily elected monarch in the world. He is also one of the only elected monarch of our time alongside the pope if you see the pope as a monarch.
It does

No wonder France has great chefs and great food .... with produce of such quality and soo passionate producers, every one will be inspired to cook , even me a certified slouch potato 😊 , such joy to watch them 🤗🤗🤗
In France, wine making, baking & cheese making are held in high esteem, as an Englishman making cheese for a French company I am met with surprise & some esteem too.
Brits are no slouches when it comes to cheese-making. I'm thinking of real Cheddar, Double Gloucester, Stilton... But well done on getting plaudits from the French in your profession.
English cheese for the French. Eww. Not the taste cause I bet it tastes great...the concept is what BOTHERS me. England ain't a de frommage pays.
@@selasiametewee Maybe you can learn English first?
How many languages do you speak to make such a comment?
@@karent-s7639 Worked at Neiman Marcus for their gourmet food department, where they once carried a great selection of imported European cheeses, including English cheeses, such as Stilton, and Gloucester Cheddar. Saying that, in no way do English cheeses come near the startling variety, depth, flavor or quality of French cheeses. Cheese making is an art, science and legendary vocation in France.
I hope the French never stop being French.

After a history of war between the two countries it is nice to see a formal dinner being put together.the documentary that shows it in this fashion is also amazing to see!! Love it
The wars were a very long time ago. We hate to admit it but we quite like each other now, even after the new British MP says something stupid!
Wern't the Plantagenet Royal dynasty that ruled Britain from 1154 to 1485 French, from Anjou and Normandy!
Merci...a marvelous film ! I loved both the young bread baker and the cheese lady....🥰🥰
An amazing documentary. Thank you for making this happen.
Thank you, I enjoyed watching this video. Would love to have sampled the different cheeses with a couple glasses of wine. (Oh hell throw in the bread too).
I love the effort the narrator puts into pronouncing the french words.
he fail every time but that's ok
@@Jord_God Not all the time ... We can salute the effort he made and then when we see how we, as French, speak English ... hmm
@@Jord_God No he doesn't. There is one time he failed because he said "Isigny-sur-Mer" (Isigny-by-the-Sea) instead of "Isigny-Sainte-Mère" (Isigny-Holy-Mother), but that's an understandable mistake as they are pronounced almost the same.
I am inspired by all these great producers with such pride in their work. Their knowledge is impressive. I think my plate would’ve been clean after the dinner.
This was a wonderful documentary.
J'adore la viande parce que, c'est tres yummmmyyyy!!! Hmmmm...lol...🤷🏼♀️🤣🤣🤣
Une belle illustration de l’excellence que la France sait offrir.
Almost entirely Germans, as is true of almost all European royals before 1945 or so.
The difference between living and staying alive.
Dion Solomon They live and we exist
@TheCrazyKid1381 On another end, personal usefulness would be relevant only to those who require to justify their standing in society to their peers, or their superiors.
By definition, a monarch may find such a position difficult to relate to.
The difference is not the food or beverages. The mainly difference is to know or not Jesus às your savior. Believe me.
But death is mandatory lol🤣even if ur a Queen
WHAT. bahahaha...there's a DIFFERENCE. 🤦🏼♀️
I'm reminded of Babette's Feast (which I haven't seen in decades). Such a wonderful tale!

It angers me that the United States won’t allow non pasteurized fine French cheese, but will allow GMO’s, artificial colors & flavorings, cloned meat & Lord knows what else..
You forgot...bleached chicken..🤣😂 Trump tried to get us British to buy it off American suppliers, we told him to feck off .
It’s because of the bacteria.
There is no such item as "cloned meat" in the U.S.A. But I agree with you on the rest.
I was raised in cheese farmer, people used buy cheese milk, butter I never heard someone got sick with them. Also, butter was make of whey, after take casein for cheese production. Comercial milk lack of everything, just water some casein.
In US, the food in hands of big corporation, in French in hands of small business, that why they have quality of food in market. They strive for perfection, respect the consumer. Small business feed the people, so all win.
Very Instructive, Bravo !
I am living just few kilometers off l'Elysée and just saved some adress for myself. Thanks for this qualitative documentary ! It is not the purpose of it, but qualitative food can be food everywhere, it just needs peoples with passion and ethic
I can watch this all day
I don't know why I like French so much.their culture and food are very satisfying.
love to have just a baguette, cheese, and wine at this place.

34:46 the spunk in that lady, what a badass. Not at all afraid of the chef or expert but rather terrifying them. "That's a good cheese bitch!" and they're like "Yes ma'm!"
theyre playing yellow submarine for the queen hahaha, bet ringo didnt see that coming
Very interesting, and well translated. One tweak, though. He didn't say New Zealand lamb tasted of suie, soot, but of suif, suet.
lol, was going to say as a New Zealander who has eaten my fair share of lamb, I've never had sooty tasting lamb!
they obv just jelly that nz lamb is better
@@maximemaxime3564 No. He says that as a result of being old enough to have grown wool, NZ lamb has "ce goût de suif qui se transmet à la viande": that taste of suet/tallow that gets into the meat. He's talking about the smell (almost like milk) and the flavour, not the amount of fat.
Thank you I thought that sounded odd.
Watch what they say at 31:56 ! What about New Zealand lamb carbon footprint ? :+) Well, Provence lamb is as well a bit farther than 300 km from Paris. English... lamb could even be nearer ! :+)
I roared with laughter when I heard the Elysee band / orchestra rip into “Yellow Submarine”, from The Beatles 🤣🤣🤣 Sorry, but, it reminded me of when the White House Marine Band played the theme from The Monty Python Show, for HM The Queen, too! 😮😮😮
If you need a good belly laugh of the opposite cause look up the Saudis playing the Russian Anthem for Putin!
Suddenly the queen asked for fried chicken with extra gravy.
she has to play those power moves
i bet she would prefer some southern BBQ with cole slaw, mac n cheese, and a coke.
she will ask for fish & chips

I can not thank you enough for this video. I have learned so very much. As someone who lives in the usa, we are not proper in so many ways of raising livestock for eating, and that is for starters. I need to watch this again, just so I can take notes and learn everything that is wrong with the usa food supply. God bless you.
It's really bizarre that you have so many regulations about what foods can be imported, but domestically produce some utter shit that in some cases no other country will buy.

The French Baguettes is my favorite bread and only available in France.Imitations in other countries don't even come close to the original and best.
Fully agree! I have lived my whole life outside France and when I come back home I realise how much I have missed it. I came to appreciate other kinds of bread but nothing like a fresh crispy baguette with saucisson d'Auvergne or cheese ... yummy!
I want to be friends with the older cheese purveyor, you know she's a fun time at a party , she got jokes on those guys! Also dude stirring the jam at the jam place no longer affiliated with the Elysee can get it.
I am touched at how the French people took so much time and trouble to welcome Our Queen at there table and Country Thank you Allies always
One of my grandmothers came from Brittany, she was a marvellous cook. When we had family gatherings at her place, my mother and her 2 sisters came to help at the crack of dawn and the 4 women cooked the whole morning. Shopping was never done in supermarkets, meat, fish, sea fruits, dairy products, vegetables and fruits were bought in small local shops where she knew to get the best. We were 25 around the table. The food was always a delight!

I'm from Louisiana my family came over here from France, Ireland, and England. I heard they changed our language upon arriving in The United States. The grandfather made his children learn English.
My grandparents used to speak their parents tongue when they didn't want their children to understand the conversation. (Similar to the grandfather requiring his children to learn English) A real learning opportunity entirely wasted.
Thank you, very interesting.
I do believe it is a French chef who taught a certain Gordon Ramsay the art of cooking. And we all know how successful Ramsay is.

England is concerned enough about security that they sent one of the Kingsman a week early to supervise the baguette deal.
