    to be honest, i dont like all of your photos. But i like many of them But the most thing i like about your content and yo as a photgrapher is that it inspires and you are not hding your skil and you try to help other photographers to become better. Many photographers dont think outside of the box and think competitive but you not. And more photographers should be like that. This Photos i liked alot. Keep it up! Also your behind the scenes are really great, not sth epic and stunning but very informative and relaxing to watch. Big thumps up.

    Nice video, recently found you! So Question, do you use some kind of a modeling light on your softbox? I see it lighting the subject and then I see a flash go off. Any reason to why there is a modeling light used? Focus assistance? --Thanks!

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  5 років тому +1

      I do use the modeling lamp when it gets dark out. The purpose of a modeling lamp is to preview the light and shadows on the subject. I use it for that purpose and to help with focusing. =)

    Do you mostly shoot TTL or do you like to do manual?
    Or is it better to go TTL at night?

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  5 років тому

      I use manual whenever possible as it is more consistent. When you shoot TTL depending on different things the metering might be good or bad. In manual you have more control. At night I may use TTL but only because using TTL allows the light to go to lower outputs and that's helpful if the lowest output is still too strong. I usually experience that at night.

    • @fjhphoto

      AD400 as main light for every shot but the AD200 Pro was used for the rim at night.

      @@fjhphoto Oh ok, I understand now. Thanks for the reply! Does the AD200 pro have any limits in any lighting situation? I've thought about buying it, but I would like to use for indoor and outdoor. But I fear in maybe midday shoots it wouldn't overpower the sunlight. Thoughts?

      Thanks! So many variables to consider when taking a photo so every shot is intentional. If I used a bigger modifier I would have gotten more light to her feet but the modifier would sway more in the wind since it was windy. I actually wanted no light there though because lighting the top mainly gives more attention to facial expressions and that's important to my work.
