Thank you so much! This is awesome can’t wait to try it!
Thank you so much Debbie! So glad to help ❤️
I've listened to other crafters for awhile now. Your teaching style is superior. You include alot of information unlike other crafters. Thanks
So does the powder only adhere to the ink?
@@adaraerela3477 Well some gets stuck to the paper but a light brushing will knock it off. But remember this only works well on whites. Comes out too dark on colors but fantastic on whites
Thanks so much 😊 We're always happy to help! -Brittany ❤️
So glad you are using an Easy Press as that’s what I have to use.
Hey Dorothy! We're glad you were able to join us today. Let us know if there is anything we can help with - Dawn 🥰
Loved this video! Thank you for your content!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you Kali!
The cold peel colors look brighter than hot peel.
This is my weekend project!
Yaaay ! Let us know how it turns out ! ❤️
love the video. watched and cant wait until I can get a sublimation printer (Wife says: not now wait until Christmas. Me in a little kids voice: I don't wanna wait until then I want it now Sticks out bottom lip and crossed my arms still didn't help lol). spent two hours going through the freebie section and almost filled up my hard drive. You guys are awesome.
Paul I'm rooting for you! Gather those designs until you get one what will you be making first?
😊😊
Great video thank you. I can see where this would work for crafters but for someone like me that fills alot of orders I dont have the time
Hi Kilah! Have you ever considered a print on demand service if you are filling many orders? Lots of our designs offer the additional licensing as well as our Gold Level membership (which includes the POD add on for ALL Plus Hub purchases). Let us know if you have any questions! We are here to help.
Sooooooooooo much information!
Hopefully it was helpful!
I love this. Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you! Glad you liked it
Has anyone tried to cook it in the dtf oven like regular dtf? I wonder if that makes it even better
I love the way you teach and explain so clear. Can you do this with darker colored shirts
You can not we did try this live I will be testing out a powder for dark fabric
@@DesignBundles would love to see a black shirt or even navy. Hoping you’ll try those out for us
Waiting for my DTV and mask to arrive so I can play!
We would love to see what you create! ❤️
Awesome Video. My issues with DTF film are the roller marks after printing. Can’t answer for the graphic film. But, I have two Epson’s printers converted for sublimation and another Espon Supercolor 170 made for sublimation, all three leave roller marks on the DTF film. I have tried bundles of different types of DTF film and no luck. Plus, I had witnessed many DTF hacks on UA-cam where you can see roller marks and it is not being discuss. The reason for roller marks is because the inks (Sublimation or inkjets printers not converted) don’t have time to dry during the printing process using DTF Films. DTF film made of clear plastic are not designed for converted sublimation printers or even the sawgrass brand, I had this printer too. DTF printers that are made for direct to print ($$$) are designed for those types of films. The rollers on a DTF printer are positioned in a certain way not to affect the prints as it moves outward from the printer. Where a converted inject printer or sawgrass for sublimation, the rollers roll over the wet ink as it pushes the DTF film out of the printer leaving roller marks. It may not happen with the first print, but it will happen with second prints. But, with sublimation paper the ink is dry before reaching the main front rollers. No different then copy or printing paper. Although your video didn’t show roller marks, I will guarantee anyone else giving this a try will run into the same issues I experienced. I think anyone that converted or purchased a sublimation printer should just stay with sublimation and don’t wast time and money on this hack. Sometimes hacks maybe too good to be true. Either way , your channel is awesome 😎
Hey there! Thank you for taking the time to explain the roller marks. We've had customers that have mentioned them as well so certainly aren't alone! - Dawn
In order for it to work with no issues you have to remove the rollers just like when you convert the 8550
I have been so frustrated trying to get this to work and Finally got it to work. The printer MUST put out wet ink print or it doesn’t work. My printer was the issue. When I saw a video telling people how to adjust their printers ink output and I adjusted mine that’s when I finally got it to work 😊❤
Thank you for sharing, Lynne! What did you adjust it to? - Dawn
@@DesignBundles I changed color mode to Adobe RGB and then increased the saturation, contrast, brightness and density. Works great now.

Thank You for doing a Cold Peel.
That makes a difference doesn’t it?
Fab Video! So, no need for butcher paper between the fabric layers? That is so time saving!
Hi Emma yes butcher paper or parchment paper will both work - Agata
What substrate settings do you use for the sawgrass SG1000
Your demos are great & I will keep on watching, but boy it is frustrating when we cannot get the stuff in the UK
Oh no ! Sorry to hear that! I hope soon you will be able to get them!
@@Julie-jy3jp just showed me as not available on Amazon
What settings should I have on print manager? Polyester or cotton?
Can you please do a comparison on using dtf powder with sublimation vs using htvront clear vinyl for sublimation? I’m curious how well the clear vinyl holds up after many washes and how well dtf hack holds up after many washes. Basically which holds up better. Thanks! I love your videos, I’m learning so much!
Hi Ines! Thank you for your kind words and we're so happy to hear you love the videos. I'll add your request to our list of tutorial ideas! - Dawn
I'm new to all this and learning a ton from your channel. Would this particular method work on a dark colored shirt? Thank you so much!!
We have a video coming next Thursday where I tested it on dark fabrics! So stay tuned for that!
What a great idea, I would like to see how it holds up to washing a few times before I give this a go
The dtv does wash well and holds it colour 🙂
What about the white ink
@@femmyjoe6643 you're still using sublimation ink not dtf ink so you need a white or light coloured garment
Would this dtf method also work for the Libbey glass tumblers or a plastic tumbler for a kid?
Can you do a wash test and let us know how it worked after 10 washes or so? Choosing between DTV or DTF.
That's a great idea!
Waiting on wash test. I really want to try this
They wear off after 2 washes. There’s a reason this isn’t an advertised method.
waiting on that wash test also
@Bob Hutchinson have you tried it ? And what best method to print on tshirt
What are your settings on your sawgrass? Do you choose cotton, what paper choice do you use?
Hi there! The type of paper that you choose is depending on what you are using for your project! - Dawn
Your videos are very helpful! Does the technique work on 50/50 or 58/42 cotton shirts of different colors besides white?
Hey Kara! Yes, you can use the DTF powder on a variety of materials and colors! - Dawn
Thank you for the video, I would like to see if you have tried in a dark color
Just published a video about it ua-cam.com/video/fy0oMV7g0GA/v-deo.html
Great teaching skills! Thank you, will it work on Black T-shirts
Hi Donna! We have helpful video for the same hack with dark shirts: ua-cam.com/video/fy0oMV7g0GA/v-deo.html - Dawn 😊
I have the sg1000 but it smears the film terrible even if I tape paper behind it. Any suggestions?
wow thankyou .great videos..1 question do you use the poly t if its a 65/35 poly cotton .
Hi Diana! The general rule of thumb with a blend is that at least 50% of it must be polyester to withstand about 400˚F on the heat press. 🙂- Dawn
what settings do you use on the sawgrass printer? substrate?
GREAT video. I tried and it worked BUT on the film (only) I have small lines on my design. Any suggestions on why? It doesn't do that with just the sublimation print. PS I have a Epson 15000. thanks. And great video again.
Hi Tina! Just to be clear, you are noticing small lines within your design? If you can, would you mind sending a picture in to mail@designbundles.net? We can get a better idea of what's happening if we can see it! 🙂
Hi, Once you pour the powder on the wet print do you have to press it right away? I wanted to do a couple of prints on one paper but can only press on item at a time. Thanks
Hi Marjorie! If you are going to be pressing right away, there isn't a need to cure the powder. However, if you are going to be printing, adding the powder, and then waiting to press, we would recommend curing the transfer as to not lose any of the powder off the design - Dawn 🙂
use tac spray on the paper and place the film on it and let the paper be captured by the printer and it works great.
I use EasySubli Ink in SG printers. Will this work with that particular ink do you think?
Hi there! That will work with the powder that we feature in the video, the purpose of the powder is to be able to sublimate on 100% cotton rather than a poly blend! - Dawn 🙂
what is the different between DTF WHITE and BLACK Transfer Adhesive Powder?
Hi Diana! The white powder is meant to be used with lighter shirts while the black powder is meant for dark shirts - Dawn 🙂
Crystal do you have any suggestions as to where I can order the ply blend shirts that are soft? I like soft comfy shirts
jiffy shirts
IMO silky socks brand of tees are the thickest and so soft. They only have white but are amazing. I think they’re $7 each and it’s 100 poly.
Love this technique! Thank you Crystal! Can you prewash the shirt before applying or not?
You can pre wash but I don't usually do it
@@DesignBundles okay. Thank you. 😊
I like to prewash because of the chemicals used in making the shirts and it also takes away some of the stiffness of the shirts. Don't use fabric softener because you don't want any excuse for the image don't to attach to the shirt.
@@hesteradamson312 sounds good. Thank you. 😊
Does not print out white images
what setting are you using on sawgrass print manager for this film?
Polyester, vivid, true pix classic paper
How did the wash test come out,
What heat press would you recommend for a beginner?
The Cricut easy press or the Stahls A2Z
Do you have a video showing how to sublimate on white or craft-colored paper gift bags?
Great suggestion! We will pass it along to our team! ❤️
Did you do the follow up video with the dtf yet?
Hi Tavarus! We did a follow up video for using the DTF film with dark colored shirts here: ua-cam.com/video/fy0oMV7g0GA/v-deo.html - Dawn 🙂
Wow
I love your video, I understood everything
I have a question: can we do DTF on dark shirt ?
Hi Marie. You can make it but it all ends up black. We have a video about it here ua-cam.com/video/fy0oMV7g0GA/v-deo.html - Agata
Did I miss on which end of the paper u fed in the printer tape side up or down into the printer
film up tape in
Hope did it do after washing
Can you use chrome a blast on poly as well
Yes you can
Maybe I need to do it this way, I was using vinyl and it printed faded after the transfer.
Which ink do you use for your Sawgrass, the sublijet or easysubli?
Sublijet
Can i ask if you got the white letters on your blue t-shirt using sublimation and white htv ?
what type of printer are you using to print your image i have a epson et 15000 printer and i can't get it to pull my transfer sheet thru it jams every time
I'm using the sawgrass try changing your settings to photo paper
I have an Epson 2760. I purchased DTF film for Epson and all DTF printers. It came with white stickers to help with pulling film. Now with that resolved, it prints only about an inch and a half them pushes the film out but not releases it. I even went and used the Asub printer settings and still barely a 2 inch print. Any thoughts?
Hi Melissa! One of the tricks Crystal uses is to tape the DTF paper to a regular sheet of paper. Can you give that a try and let us know if that helps? If not, please send an email to mail@designbundles.net and we can continue to troubleshoot with you! - Dawn 🙂
Do you do the hobby lobby brand the same way as the PET film? It’s been out of stock in Amazon
yes and here is another one amzn.to/3CJ3JLU
Will thermo-blast ink work in a converted Epsom ET printer? Like this design (I got it for 2 yr olds Halloween t-shirt). How does this technique hold up to laundry? So many things to remember...paper, ink, temps, etc. Isn't there a good reference source in one place for all this? Sorry to be grumpy, you do great stuff CrystalAnn 🔮 & I truly appreciate it!
I got on here to ask the same question!! Do we have an answer?
Hi Joy! While we have heard mixed reviews if this technique holds up in the laundry we can say the recommended wash last time is between 20 to 25 washes. However with all personalized items we suggest gentle laundering which includes tumble dry low, air dry if possible, and washing with light colors - Dawn 🙂
@@DesignBundles Dawn, thank you for your answer. This is something I'm considering.
So I print on the DTF paper with my sublimation printer ink. no need for other specialty ink?
Thats it sublimation printer, DTF film and powder
I need your teal tape dispenser hand held, can u link where u got it?
Amazon! 😊
I keep getting a paper jam on my sub printer. I am taping the DTF transfer film to a regular piece of paper but it isn't taking it correctly. Any tips?
Someone else had suggested taping 2 DTF sheets together! Let us know if that works for you! 😊 -Brittany ❤️
I can't seem to find where you shared the Amazon link for the pet film and powder.
Hi there! The links are in the description box below the video 🙂
So I can use my 7710 Epson workforce sublimation printer with the film and power.
yes you can
I have been trying this and every time I heat the design to melt the powder, it gets tiny squiggles in it. This transfers to the shirt. Has anyone else had this problem? I’m thinking about trying a different brand of dtf powder to see if it will help, but it’s $30 for each powder, so it’s getting kind of expensive. Help!
Try a different paper
What are your print settings? Bc whe I do it it's comes out bubbled like to much ink.
Polyester, true pix classic and vivid color
I have printed several and I am getting roller marks from my printer. What do I do to fix that?
Hello Carmen,
What type of printer are you using?
-Brittany
So what if you don’t have a sublimation printer but have sub sheets can I be done with the sheets?
You do need the sublimation printer unfortunately
Does this feel like sublimination or does it feel like vinyl or DTF when doing your hack?
I’m new to sublimation. Why does my DTF film shrink/wrinkle when I heat press it?
How was this after the wash
I would love to use this technique, but I need to print white, which my sublimation printer doesn’t print 😞 What do I need for white colors such as Santa’s beard or hat?
Hi Kellie! Two suggestions - First, you can leave that part of the design transparent and as long as you are using a white shirt, it will be white! Second, you can sublimate on white HTV to add white on darker shirts! - Dawn 🥰
You did a great job. I have an Epson 570. Followed all your steps, about 15 times. Tried many different things. Nothing would work. The printer won’t recognize the paper and shoots the paper…unprinted out of the machine. Will print plain paper. Tried painters tape and Scotch tape. Nothing worked. Added extra paper, things it should pick up something thicker. Nothing. And, I did purchase dtf paper . Anyone have a clue? Thanks!
for your printer settings change it to photo paper
what are they setting you use to print the image out
Polyester, Vivid, true pix classic paper
Is a top feeding printer better? I can't get my sawgrass to grab the paper.
Hi Sue! Have you tried attaching it to a piece of cardstock? Crystal has used painters tape to attach them at the top - Dawn
The PET film is sold out. Is there another brand you recommend?
Hi there! With many of the pet films coming in and out of stock I would recommend finding another on Amazon with great reviews as well as completed project photos from other Crafters so you can see that their product turned out the way you would want your own too as well! - Dawn 🙂
Can you do this thru the bypass tray
Hi Vicki! Which printer are you using? You may be able to use the bypass tray, we haven't tried yet though to speak from personal experience. - Dawn 😊
Can I use my HP inkjet printer for DTF. Do I need a programme like circuit do?
For DTF you need a sublimation printer unfortunately.
I is saw a tutorial where they did it on black I did not see thr printing process so I’m assuming it was done in high end professional printer ?
Hi Rosa! For the black shirt, the black DTF powder is used. We have that video here: ua-cam.com/video/fy0oMV7g0GA/v-deo.html&lc=UgxmR1LlaF8L6zknAih4AaABAg 🙂- Dawn
How can you avoid getting that clear plastic coating? I use waterslide paper because it's the only thing that feeds through my epson 2760 but leaves a plastic film. Does the film come off in the wash? Do you have any tips?
If you lightly heat it, you should be able to gently peel away the film 🙂
Great video. Does this work on darker colors shirts?
Hi there! We haven't had much success on darker shirts, but we would recommend an alternative which is to sublimate on white htv or matte htv on the darker shirt - Dawn
Am I correct at assuming you can't do this on black or any dark color? I have tried a couple times and it looks like one stuck on piece of film.
Yes unfortunately you can't do it on black. I tried it in this video, take a look at the result. - ua-cam.com/video/fy0oMV7g0GA/v-deo.html
Hello, I use a translator. I'm French. I live in Guadeloupe. Are the products offered good for sublimation? I use sawgrass. Everything is written in English and I do not understand the description of the material. Can you tell me more ? This is not a TDF print? Thanks
Yes, we have a number of great PNG files for sale! - Brittany
Crystal can this process be done on dark colors like dark purple, black, and navy blue? Can anyway answer
It wouldn't be very visible on darker colours unfortunately
Will this work for dark color shirts too
Unfortunately it does not work for dark fabric. - Brittany
I just watched your black powder video. My question is can these be pressed onto dark garments? Or does it still need to be white to fill in for white parts of your image?
Following, just because I’ve only done white adhesive powder
Hi there! If you are using a darker fabric, you can use the dark powder. The white powder will melt so it won't fill in any white parts of your design. - Dawn
Can you use the chromablast ink in an Epson printer?
Hi Sandy! Yes, you can use the Chromablast Ink in an Epson printer! To keep it consistent, you may also want to use the ChromaBlast brand transfer papers as well! - Dawn 🙂
Any idea why mine is smearing first couple inches and then does perfect. I’m using sg500
Mine also, has there been any ideas what to do so there's no smearing?
What are your settings when printing? - Brittany
Crystal I don’t have a DTF question but I do have a sublimation printer question. Currently I have an Epson WF 7840 Thst has been converted to sublimation, the chips are costly so I was considering downsizing to the Ecotank 2850 to eliminate having to keep purchasing chips when the ink needs to be refilled. I have been researching the sawgrass printers and was wondering if you have any suggestions. I know the ink is expensive for the sawgrass and not suRe how many prints approximately can be printed before needing more ink. Any help that you can offer is most appreciated.
Connie I have been using the sawgrass for years and the ink will last for what seems like forever If you can afford it I would definitely get one its worth the investment
Thank you 😀
I have been using the epson L3111 for two years now for sublimation without any hassles. Its a tank printer so there are no chips or anything to be replaced. When I bought the printer I bought the sublimation ink seperate as it is a an ordinary ink jet printer, did not put the ink in that came with the printer but put the subli ink. Its been 2 years now that im still using the same bottles I bought and I print alot of sublimation and have done alot of tests and trials as well. Highly recommend that little printer its dynamite.
How did you prevent the roller lines on your paper that smears the ink?
Honestly I don't know how its possible I call it magic its s o cool
I get roller marks also
@@72sidekick with DTF you have to remove the rollers. But maybe it's because she is using 2 sheets.
The dtf is not available on Amazon. Is there another one you suggest???
We would recommend trying 143vinyl.com 🙂
How did you get the white from a sublimation printer?
The white you are seeing is likely from the paper that was attached to the film to help pull it through the printer. Sublimation printers cannot print white. 😊
~ Brittany
So I did a hot peel and still got the film 🤦🏾♀️. Anyone know how to avoid the sticky film
What are the setting on the sawgrass for printing?
That’s what I came to ask.. under paper what do we select 🤷🏼♀️
Polyester, vivid, true pix classic
Did the hot peel look as vibrant as the cold peel? Trying to figure out why anyone would want to cold peel if it is such a hassle to remove the extra little pieces. Thanks!
That was my experience too. I’m going to try a hot peel
Hey Kelley! We've reached out to the DTF brand used in the video and the hot peel film is more suitable for large patterns such as the front chest and back, while the cold peel film is suitable for thinner lines such as the back collar and letters. - Dawn 🙂
Quick question, I have an epson that has been converted over to sublimation, with this new technique will it actually have white in the design?? I know my printer doesn't print white so I was curious as to how the white areas will be white. Thank you :)
They won't... No white ink means no white
It will show as the color of the shirt
Apply clear htv then white htv then sublimation
Your design will not have white since it is a sublimation process. - Brittany
Hi new sub found you through crafty. Does this work on dark colors? Or just white only
Following
Hello! Unfortunately this does not work on dark colors. - Brittany
What material setting did you use on your sawgrass?
Hi Michelle! Your settings would be as if you are sublimating on a regular poly shirt. The powder is what makes it transfer to the cotton! - Dawn
tryed and i love it but my epson prints half then stops printing any ideas on what could be wrong
Hi there! We're sorry to hear about your troubles. Would you mind sharing which program you are using for your designs? - Dawn 😊
