The black streaks are roller marks from the black border as it was coming through your printer. I usually powder & cure the entire print, and then cut off anything I need to. After curing, I use a stiff small paint brush to scrub the black roller marks off where I can, without damaging the image. I always close my press & heat the bottom of my press before I place my film on to cure. It goes much faster...like 10 seconds or less to cure. I use 380* for 40 seconds when pressing tshirts with this DTF method.
Thanks for all the tips! That makes sense with the rollers!
I love the idea of closing the press first, too! Idk why I didn't think of that 🤯
@@Cricuter exactly! you women are awesome with the tips, ideas and knowledge. Thank you.
I love your videos. Soon as I seen it was you that popped up I got excited lol
You explain things and show how to do things like a normal person would. You don’t rush your words and make it super easy to follow. Keep doing what you’re doing cuz it works!!! ❤ and this DTF dang I’m stoked to try it.
Thank you so much!! Your comments really make my day!
Love this process as cotton breaths and is. comfortable! Thanks for the great demonstration and tips
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the tips, I didn't know you can powder melt twice but now I know it can be done and it does look vibrant
Yesss it comes out great after melting it a few times and it has held up amazing in the wash!

Great job! This was one of the best tutorials. Very informative.
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful!
I love the rooster shirt!! Thank you for the tutorial on this product. I think these are great options for light colored cotton shirts.
It's my new favorite shirt 🐓 it worked so good on the white shirt!

Thank you for the detailed instructions on how to use the DTF box.
Of course! I'm happy to help 😊
I LOVE the chicken shirt and saying. It’s very vibrant. Great job and thank you for the tips
It's a great shirt 😂 thanks for the comment 💓
I have done a dozen DTF shirts this way. It is a hit and miss for me. But learned that after the first press, if you want a smooth texture then use a parchment paper and if you want some texture, use the Teflon sheet. Thanks for the great video
Thanks for the tip! Have you ever tried sublimation HTV?
I really enjoyed watching pink is my favorite color so I was happy to see we can use the DTF on it
I'm glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching!
I bought that Design Bundle with the chickens, and that's what I'm gonna spruce my cotton tees with. Thanks for this video.
It's such a good bundle - so many funny designs!
Thank you for this helpful DTF hack video! A tip for colored shirts as I do not use white: For colored shirts, I use light colors. In my Silhouette software I use SVG files, Ungroup the design, and thicken the outline in black at 2.25 and this helps the colors pop and give it more definition to the design when printed. I'm watching to help me with my new Epson 8850 settings. Thank you everyone for the tips I'm seeing here!
Thanks for sharing your tips and advice with us!
Love the process and can't wait to try it!
Hope you enjoy it! I've always wanted to be able to sublimate on cotton - now I can 😄
Love this detailed instruction
Thanks 😅 I only spent like 15 hours researching, filming and editing
Excellent Video! Thank you so much for sharing such great information! I just subscribed to your channel :)
Thanks for the sub! I enjoy reading your comments!
Thank you for the tips I have moved into a trailer an have no room to work on anything. I am working on it though so I am soaking up as much information as I can absorb into my peanut brain! I love sublimation and cotton so I will try this one day!!
My husband and I started off in a studio apartment. Not even a 1 bedroom. The "living room" and bedroom was one room with a kitchen and bathroom. Our old studio apartment is about the same size as our bedroom in our house now. What you're going through is temporary. I 10000% believe in the law of attraction. Chase whatever your dreams are, no matter how crazy they seem. I also feel like I have a peanut brain and that's why I spend SO much time researching and breaking things down as simple as possible. This video was 30 mins long and probably went into way too much detail but in order for me to understand this kit I had to understand everything else. All those questions I asked were questions *I* had when trying to learn. Sublimation is awesome. Print and heat press is so much easier than vinyl. Sorry for the novel but I just want you to know that I understand where you're coming from. You can do this! Keep learning new things every day. Keep improving. That's how you grow and become more successful. If you're still reading my book here, I wish you so much success in your future. I believe in you.
@@Cricuter thank you so much! I will keep on keeping on!
Love sublimation tumblers!!
Oh, me too! I made my mom one for Mother's Day and it came out so cute!
I love the video. Did you have to remove rollers from your printer?
Love your videos Kerrie ❤️
Thank you so much 💓
Great job Thanks for this video.
You're welcome! I'm glad you liked it ❤️
I have a toaster oven that I bought on sale from Target a few years ago. I plan on using that for DTF, and trying it with parchment paper.
Sounds like a great idea!
Thank you for doing this video. I have really thought about trying this or something with the dtf. But I haven’t been willing to buy the printer yet. I have been watching your youtube to do htv. We chatted with my question about a yr ago till i had some shopping to do & you had to check on the chickens lol. I have been going back & forth on dtf. I did start sublimation & made few mugs to sell.
DTF printers are so expensive. I would stick with sublimation. I just picked up some sublimation HTV for dark fabrics, I'll be making a video with that soon to see how it works. I'm all for the hacks!
I really love the DTF hack! Being able to print on cotton is a huge game changer. I started using the hack with my sublimation ink converted Epson 2720 and it worked with no tape or difficulties but after 2 years it stopped working properly. I just replaced it with the Epson 8550 which prints much larger but it needs tweaking, still a work in process.
Can't wait to try this. Great video! I'm wondering how it looks after it has been washed about 20 times or more.
Thank you! I'm curious about that as well. I haven't had to wash it that much yet but I will update after a few washes!
Thank you! Did you wash the shirts? It would be great to share the wash test results.
I have washed it many times and it still looks as good as the day I made it!
Hi there, I need a little bit of help. I have a converted Epson Eco tank 2800 and I need some help with printing and what software to use. I don’t care much for the cricket program. Do you have any recommendations I’m trying to take full advantage of the 8 1/2 x 11 sheet since I can only print that size paper of paper
I use Canva. You can see how in this video ua-cam.com/video/FjYbnNHyfCg/v-deo.html
Hi, I just watched your video. I am new to DTF but your video shows adding powder and curing 2 times, is that correct?
That's correct
I looked at other channels and they spread the powder over the sheet 2 or 3 times without curing after each spread. This is the first I saw that cures in between. Maybe it's just this kit but no one else cures 2 times. Great video tho.
How does it feel in the tshirt?
It feels like any other screen printed shirt you would buy at the store. It's not thick like HTV but it's a little thicker than normal sublimation. I love the shirt. I've worn and washed it a bunch and it's still as good as the day I made it.
Do you put anything in the middle of shirt?
Nope!
What printer did you use
An Epson Workforce 7210. Butttt mine just started printing like crap all the sudden so I had to buy a new one yesterday. I picked up an Epson Ecotank at Costco yesterday for $199 that I'm going to fill with sublimation ink
The powder is like glitter, it gets everywhere
I agree! It's a messy technique. It works, but it's messy.
I want to try but they said that powder is dangerous someone develop cancer from that stuff
I'm not sure - definitely do your independent research if you have any concerns.
That dark shirt with white print is just showing how it looks if you use a true DTF print. Not a DTF Hack as that is what you are showing. Because this powder is actually used for a True DTF print.
