A truly artistic and charming area from the ground floor to the top of the cathedral tower. I discovered an interesting detail, "The bell tower was erected on September 14, 1906. The cathedral survived the 1911 earthquake with minimal damage, although it was built without nails, which some bishops attributed to divine intervention. Some speculate that the decision to avoid using nails was due to their contribution to the crucifixion of Christ."
Another interesting thing....I wanted to push Davud towards the rural part. But in this case I really enjoyed it - how much talent it takes to design such a cathedral.

Hello. I'm from Kazakhstan. This is not an Islamic country, it is considered a secular country. Here they adhere to the Hanafi madhhab. Muslims are treated normally here, but there are also some people who don’t like us. But Alhamdulillah, there is no such thing as Muslims being attacked on the street. Come don’t be afraid, we are always happy to have guests))
Hi, I’m a Kazakh, and I’m atheist. That’s a free country for all religions. People mostly consider as Muslims around 70%, but only around 15% who prays 5 times a day and live like a Muslim

Thank you for your insight. Yes, after doing additional research I realised it is a secular country. I also saw an article about hijab possibly being banned at schools. It is important for me to travel to countries that allow you to practice your religion freely.

The cathedral is the Almaty Russian Orthodox Church. It is a 54 meters (177 ft) high orthodox church, the second tallest wooden building in the world., built completely of wood, without nails. (It's true!) The Cathedral, which was built during 1904-1907, survived the earthquake in 1911. The building proved its quality, as it was one of the few buildings that survived the earthquake.
In the evening, this street has a completely different atmosphere :)
That’s the part that I’m used to actually, since my family doesn’t live exactly in the heart of Almaty.
