- Sea of Thieves: Fort Advanced Strategies [Easy Boss Fight] A hiding player can quickly know when the final boss is there, because the music within radius changes to boss music, announcing to thieves that you are almost done. Now that is the real enemy, tuckers, or other ships waiting at a distance to take over when you are most exposed, and this timeline starts from when the final boss spawns until you open the vault. Let's call this period the red zone, which is when you have to be most careful.
This video shows a live demonstration on my twitch stream, where I soloed a skull fort and then killed the Skeleton Lord in one hit, by doing that I made the red zone very short that it barely gave any other players the chance to attack.

That is so interesting since I tried to find another way to kill the key master other than using the canons or Pathetically blow him up with a single Gunpowder barrel at a time , This helped me a lot on fighting skull forts All thanks to you Phuzzy

Completed my first fort yesterday with my good mate Husky, since we were on an Xbox server, no one tried to fight us. A brig approached one time, but fled as soon as I got close. Alone. In a sloop.
Needless to say I made 90k off of a Reaper Emissary and sold the lot.

Good stuuuuuff. I have to try that with the kegs. I avoid doing skull forts (rather have others doing them for me) mainly because of the long-ass boss fight at the end. This changes things ;) I also sunk a brig within a minute because they had kegs. People never learn ^^°

Thanks dude! The final boss is always sooo annoying to beat and I never knew you could do it this way! Edit: This worked a treat on some tuckers earlier today. They didn’t come back :P
When it comes to staying alive with a single skeleton remaining, I find blunderbuss skeletons work well too. They have a habit of staying at a distance and shooting you from there, where it does miniscule damage to you and rarely sets off kegs, so you can move the kegs while it is moving, reloading or aiming. Also, despite how effective it would be, I've never seen a flintlock skeleton shoot a keg you're holding. Even when you face it to them they still shoot your feet or head instead.

Destroying the stronghold kegs is such a waste in my opinion. I usually hide it somewhere and destroy all the normal kegs and put the stronghold keg in the crows nest when I’m ready to head out. Especially on FOTD, I’ll play with people that blow up the kegs without warning without even checking for tuckers, like bro, that’s such a waste, you can check for mermaids before you open the vault lol. That’s like nearly 20k and a ton of rep down the drain. I mean if you aren’t comfortable with stronghold kegs in your crowsnest you either aren’t that good at repairing or u just need to git gud.

However, if the boss is killed with gunpowders you won’t get the commendation point. They must be killed with gun, cutlass, or gunfire. If killed by kegs, fire, or lightning as the final killing blow, no commendation point will be awarded. (unless they patched it very recently but I haven’t seen any patch note related to this)

Thanks! I’m rarely attacked when finishing the fort though. I’ve normally been attacked when I’m first starting the fort. It doesn’t make sense to me though that they roll up and chase me off. (I use a sloop and when this happens it’s at least a brig) I just wonder what their thinking when they come up and try to sink me after I’ve only completed a few waves.

I don´t know how it works when throwing a firebomb. But if you have kegs to instakill the boss, the commendation for killing the boss won´t count. I has not done it for me at least when doing it but I´ve been shooting at the kegs. Think you need 14-15 kegs to insta kill the boss.
So i just do 11-12 kegs and then kill it manually so I get progress on the commendation :)
Is it possible to shoot a mega keg in the vault by shooting through the cracks in the floor boards?

@@thelis4u591 yeah that final boss is harder but also easy, tho the fort itself is much easier as mostly normal skeletons and pretty much everything does from one fire bomb inlcuding Goldies

why did you blow up the vault/kegs at the end?
Because many times other ships hide and wait until you take the kegs to your ship and use them to sink you . And since I completed all keg commendations, disposing them is safer

I calculated that 17.7 (just use 17 kegs) is enough, and then just 1 shot and they're dead.
It depends on the ship, when I was solo around ten did the job, they scale with the crew size 😊
@@PhuzzyBond Oh really? According to Sea of Thieves Wiki, they always have 4000-4500 health.
@@nark4837 only issue with these updates that so much info is not updated since many things change Without any documentation, like nerfing pistol range many months back and reducing cursed mermaids health .
So wiki was right at the time, just nothing was revisited overtime

what about forts where no skellys with barrels spawn?
Gather as many kegs as you can from around the fort, might not one shot kill the skeleton lord but will deal a huge amount of damage to make the rest easy

If it hits the keg with a bullet than it goes boom boom
When a Player is holding a Gunpowder Barrel, only Skeletons with hands or Cutlasses with weapons can set off the keg. Shots from Weapons or Cannons will not detonate a held Keg. Its on sot wiki
True, because it's a glitch that was never fixed. They could still shoot the kegs if you were near them, assuming the shot lands next to you. So it's much safer to keep the melee guy at a distance as their AI doesn't search as far as the Ranged.

It does stack 🤗 even Grey Marrow at fort of the damned could be taken down like this, but with more kegs

Looks like he doesn't :D It took me like 20 cannon shots to kill him, so I suppose 10 kegs do the job as well.
This is the only game that blue screens my machine. Haven't been able to narrow down why :(
Likely memory errors. Could be your RAM, either too little or defective.
@@keinkoenich2673 That's the first thing I checked. Pulled and moved sticks. 32g should be plenty. Might be a heating issue, I'll need to get a gauge installed.

It used to be, currently it's a glitch that sometimes gets triggered. So it depends on your luck. Originally skeletons would blow a keg of your hands.

Keeping a stronghold keg isn’t worth it, someone can blow up your ship, it’s better to blow it up in the vault instead of trying to sell it
