Completed my first fort yesterday with my good mate Husky, since we were on an Xbox server, no one tried to fight us. A brig approached one time, but fled as soon as I got close. Alone. In a sloop. Needless to say I made 90k off of a Reaper Emissary and sold the lot.
When it comes to staying alive with a single skeleton remaining, I find blunderbuss skeletons work well too. They have a habit of staying at a distance and shooting you from there, where it does miniscule damage to you and rarely sets off kegs, so you can move the kegs while it is moving, reloading or aiming. Also, despite how effective it would be, I've never seen a flintlock skeleton shoot a keg you're holding. Even when you face it to them they still shoot your feet or head instead.

Thanks! I’m rarely attacked when finishing the fort though. I’ve normally been attacked when I’m first starting the fort. It doesn’t make sense to me though that they roll up and chase me off. (I use a sloop and when this happens it’s at least a brig) I just wonder what their thinking when they come up and try to sink me after I’ve only completed a few waves.
I don´t know how it works when throwing a firebomb. But if you have kegs to instakill the boss, the commendation for killing the boss won´t count. I has not done it for me at least when doing it but I´ve been shooting at the kegs. Think you need 14-15 kegs to insta kill the boss. So i just do 11-12 kegs and then kill it manually so I get progress on the commendation :)
However, if the boss is killed with gunpowders you won’t get the commendation point. They must be killed with gun, cutlass, or gunfire. If killed by kegs, fire, or lightning as the final killing blow, no commendation point will be awarded. (unless they patched it very recently but I haven’t seen any patch note related to this)
Destroying the stronghold kegs is such a waste in my opinion. I usually hide it somewhere and destroy all the normal kegs and put the stronghold keg in the crows nest when I’m ready to head out. Especially on FOTD, I’ll play with people that blow up the kegs without warning without even checking for tuckers, like bro, that’s such a waste, you can check for mermaids before you open the vault lol. That’s like nearly 20k and a ton of rep down the drain. I mean if you aren’t comfortable with stronghold kegs in your crowsnest you either aren’t that good at repairing or u just need to git gud.
Gather as many kegs as you can from around the fort, might not one shot kill the skeleton lord but will deal a huge amount of damage to make the rest easy

True, because it's a glitch that was never fixed. They could still shoot the kegs if you were near them, assuming the shot lands next to you. So it's much safer to keep the melee guy at a distance as their AI doesn't search as far as the Ranged.
Phuzzy could you talk about some quality of life changes. Like they just made all enemies SOLID!! YOU CAN NO LONGER WALK INTO THE ENEMY AND DO THE SWORD CHEAT LOL!! YAY RARE!!!!
@@nark4837 only issue with these updates that so much info is not updated since many things change Without any documentation, like nerfing pistol range many months back and reducing cursed mermaids health . So wiki was right at the time, just nothing was revisited overtime

I calculated that 17.7 (just use 17 kegs) is enough, and then just 1 shot and they're dead.
It depends on the ship, when I was solo around ten did the job, they scale with the crew size 😊

It used to be, currently it's a glitch that sometimes gets triggered. So it depends on your luck. Originally skeletons would blow a keg of your hands.

Keeping a stronghold keg isn’t worth it, someone can blow up your ship, it’s better to blow it up in the vault instead of trying to sell it
