This is a very extensive and well put together exhaust demo that covers pretty much everything an exhaust shopper would wanna see and hear. Only thing missing would be a decibel reading of the exhaust at different RPMs. The numbers themselves aren't too important because everyone has a different recording setup but how the numbers differ between exhausts with your same recording config would be very helpful. Something to think about if you do more videos like this esp when comparing it to the AWE. Anyway, thanks for this!
Appreciateit. Yeah I wanted to make a video I'd would've like to see before considering buying an aftermarket part like this. As for the decibel reader I'll definitely look into it! Thanks for the recommendation!
This video (and many others like it) are why I chose borla for my gr86. I don't want it so loud I get pulled over (Virginia be like that) and also I don't need the riced out look/sound. Burbles when I downshift, some pops, but mostly just easier to hear when I shift. Thanks.
Sounds pretty similar to my gen 1 s-type IMO, but the gen 2 seems to have lightly less burbles. Thanks for the in dept video! You remind me of myself, picked up this car as a new hobby seems it hits a nice balance of price, ease to work on, power, reliability, and "cheap" to run on the track
Think I just found my new exhaust. To this day I wasn’t a fan of anything offered for the GR 86, including the AWE which I thought sounded to ricey. This has such a nice tone that’s not offensive either. How’s the drone though?
right at the beginning of your vid, about 6 sec in it shows the tips pretty off center - have you been able to adjust to be centered in the exhaust cutouts? nice job!
Yeah the hangers were a tight squeeze. I centered it originally and they must've moved off center while I was driving. I'm going to take it off and reinstall this week to see if it can fit right!
Been running AWE since it came out, and comparing the two, I made the right choice. Some of the other reviews talk about some drone on Borla but AWE has none at all, it works as advertised. I run their Touring Edition. It's perfect. I startdd with their track one but it was too loud for me so i did their touring conversion thing and its amazing, dont look back. Just one dudes opinion whatever makes you happy!
Thanks man-- The red reverse lockout is actually the full Short Throw Shifter from Billetworkz I installed a couple of weeks ago. Should've done a video on it, but I absolutely love how it feels. Really made a big difference. Haha close, it's frontage and 55, but not off of Canton Farm, it's off of Lemont Rd and 55 on frontage.
Hows the drone on the Borla? I put a Remark axle back muffler delete on mine and took it off a week later because the drone in the 2 - 2.7k range was awful, and that is where the engine sits at freeway speeds.
I have a 1st gen s-type on my 2023 brz. Might be the video but yours sounds a tad louder mine pops a little more on down shifts. Other then tip colour I’m curious on what differences between the 2 are
Hey Victor! Yeah I just threw the exhaust on fairly quickly to get all the footage so I'll have to throw the car back up tomorrow and take a look. Thing is you can't really adjust the tips like you can with other exhaust so a little knock on the Borla. I'll let you know once I get some time to check it out.
The tips are welded to the exhaust, but each pipe is connected to the rest of the exhaust with a clamp. You can loosen the clamps, hold the tips in place and tighten them back up to adjust. Mine looked similar to this when I put it on, but the adjustment was pretty easy and they’re lined up perfectly now.
No not yet, I wanted to switch to a softer sound exhaust just in case I add headers, but then again to get anything performance wise that makes it worth it for headers I'd need to tune. It's just a matter of when to get the car tuned rather than if mainly bc once you tune the warranty is no longer applicable

Thanks.
You need to fix the left side, that would annoy me if that was on my car lol
Finally someone getting all the sounds GJ man!
Great job for a first time doing an exhaust sound showcase!
Borla is so right. Not super cheap but SO worth it
Yes! I have a borla on my civic and it's the best sounding exhaust by far. It's not even close.
Tracking the car is the next goal!
definitely getting this exhaust soon! At 5:22 how did you make that nice low burbling sound?
Think I just found my new exhaust. To this day I wasn’t a fan of anything offered for the GR 86, including the AWE which I thought sounded to ricey. This has such a nice tone that’s not offensive either. How’s the drone though?

Have the borla s type for my Kia stinger 3.3 and it’s amazing. Had borla headers in my 2013 frs and sounded amazing. Really great product.
Hi, do you remember where you got the rear Toyota badge from?
I liked your video, but you must center that pipe in the outlet before it melts some plastic panels.

are you stock ? or do you have headers installed?
Do you get the crackles and pops on automatics?
Great video, well done. Where did you get the red reverse lockout?
Hey that looks like frontage road headed towards caton farm.
Thanks man-- The red reverse lockout is actually the full Short Throw Shifter from Billetworkz I installed a couple of weeks ago. Should've done a video on it, but I absolutely love how it feels. Really made a big difference.

Is the artificial noise still on inside? Nice video!
Nope turned that off on Day 1 of owning the car!
Why does the alignment of muffler tips aren't the same?
Hows the drone on the Borla? I put a Remark axle back muffler delete on mine and took it off a week later because the drone in the 2 - 2.7k range was awful, and that is where the engine sits at freeway speeds.
Really? Mine sits at around 3-3.5 at 80-85 mph is it bad around that range?
The S-type has a technology to cancel out unwanted frequencies.
In your other video it sounds like you have a leak to be honest?
any drone or fitting issues?
Is this s-type? Sounds like the atak(loud one)
Where did you buy your roof spoiler
bro where did you the black out emblem?
I have a 1st gen s-type on my 2023 brz. Might be the video but yours sounds a tad louder mine pops a little more on down shifts.
Other then tip colour I’m curious on what differences between the 2 are
Yeah Borla officially stated they designed the 2nd gen version to be slightly louder and more aggressive than 1st gen
I like have the 1st gen too and I like it more than the 2nd gens sound, as you stated, has more of a kick to it and not a fan of that
U have stock headers?
Can’t decide between this and MAPerformance
MAP will drone, Borla will not. If this doesn’t matter go based on exhaust note and price 🤙
@@KonkrRoadsA lot of people that have the MAP says it doesn’t drone
Fitment ? Is that something that can be adjusted or welded crooked from Borla?

Where u get ur black emblems from ?
Ebay. I tried to look up my old order. The exact one I got was no longer available, but I'm sure you can find ones similar on Ebay if you take a look
any drone?
Any unpleasant drone inside the cabin?
Hello? Anyone home?
No honey
This doesn't seem to crackle and pop, does it?
It does but only when you are revving around 2-3.5k rpms with the clutch engaged while cruising in 2nd-4th gear
I recorded a few clips in the video of it popping
do you have any headers or anything else for exhaust modified ??
No not yet, I wanted to switch to a softer sound exhaust just in case I add headers, but then again to get anything performance wise that makes it worth it for headers I'd need to tune. It's just a matter of when to get the car tuned rather than if mainly bc once you tune the warranty is no longer applicable
Sounds nice but i like my HKS. Good video.
Louder or u just like it more lower pitch or higher ?
How is the drone?
Honestly, the AWE Touring sounded better and has zero drone
Music😊
