After watching videos of several different exhausts on the 2022 GR86/BRZ, I think the Borla is the way to go for me. Sounds aggressive enough to make a difference, but not loud and raspy enough to make everyone think the person behind the wheel is a pimply faced 19 year old that cruises the Taco Bell parking lot on Saturday nights.
Hi ya All - I had a Corsa Sport installed on my 2024 BRZ tS. Before you hate, let me explain. I put a Borla Sport on my 2004 Corvette and the drone gave me a headache within 10 minutes. I replaced it with a Corsa Sport and there was no drone. So, to preempt the same situation, I went with the Corsa first and am totally satisfied. Borla makes an incredible exhaust, but my preference is the Corsa with their anti-drone technology.
it makes me happy seeing another woman doing her own work! I have a 2022 BRZ too, I just replaced the clutch spring with the MTec, really satisfying doing it on my own! I'd be super interested in that exhaust, where did you find it?
@@therootedprogress yusss! I only plan to do 1-2 HDPE events so hopefully with a helmet on, I can hear it okay 😅 But overall its good balance for us old/new balance wearing lads
This sounds amazing, but it seems like the Borla has a resonator delete and replaced it with the muffler instead. Is this true and if it is, does this have any issues with emission? Sorry, new into cars and trying to pick out an exhaust for my GR86.
Muffler and resonator is strictly sound no emissions issues especially for California. It's when you replace the catalytic converters in the headers and think there is one in the midpipe as well. That's not good for emissions.
Thank you! Yaa the MXP is one of our favorites as well. Your absolutely right, if we plan on upgrading the rest of the exhaust, it may become louder, so right now this is perfect for us. 👍
@@1InfinityShade actually, no drone during highway speeds. Only drones on cold start when idling but after it's warmed up, everything sounds good. Not the loudest exhaust but loud enough for you to hear the engine and no unnecessary exhaust sounds. Great exhaust upgrade in my opinion for avoiding unwanted attention during daily driving and a good sounding exhaust for when you need some spirited driving 😌
We'll have more videos to come so there will be plenty of future content with the exhaust. 👍 As I've mentioned in another comment, I plan to make another video of just the exhaust sounds that way you guys get a good listen to it. Hopefully our mic is doing it justice.
I would rate it a 5/10 for loud. Clearly sportier and noticeable but not obnoxious and obvious. Cold start is not too bad either. Car can be heard but it's not overbearing or annoying. Definitely a clean, subtle improvement in overall sound. No drone on highway. It think it's perfect for those who want a more mature tone, deeper thoatier notes and overall, sportier sounding exhaust without the added attention from the cops.
@@user-lr6eu3og9f definitely not that loud. My outback is louder lol either way I'm not to worried about waking up neighbors cuz one of my neighbors has a super loud motorcycle and everyone in our housing community has a nice sports car so I think we all understand each other
I had this system on my 2015 frs, but the muffler hung down super low. does the system fit better tucked into the tunnel and flush with the under panels on the 22?
I still have it. But thinking of selling it. Do you want another project car for the channel. I promise it's a good one 😉 more goodies on it that the car is worth right now

Being quiet isn't bad at all if you're going to have a header or front pipe in the future! I really like my MXP SP on my 22

I have a Toyota 86 2019, is the exhaust a lot of drone? Currently looking at purchasing
Not much drone at all and this is with the 2.4L. I would say it's a very daily-able exhaust. Loud enough but not too loud to attract the police.
