heya - thanks for the video and I do have this mic but ran into a problem - might be more to do with being the first gen version tho. I used this on my Senny HD58x Jubilees but those being open back meant there was a lot of mic pick up from my audio that caused a problem for others on discord when playing WoW. maybe this has been solved with gen 2 now. but I do agree that this clip on mic sounds bloody good and it's lovely to have a much better sounding headphone than most of the crappy 'gaming' headsets.
@thomashoskins8817 that's very unusual - a mic would have to be extremely sensitive to pick up backfeed from your headset. The new model should definitely help prevent that though, between the cardioid pattern and the noise cancelation.
@@MasterMarslander thanks - maybe I should retry them and knock down the sensitivity more. instead I have my Game Ones plugged directly into my Sound Blaster AE5 and he HD58x connected to my front panel audio (which is also plugged into the SB AE5 using that cards helpful sound out connector). I switch between the 2 sets of Snnys as needed :D you mame superb videos dude and I love 'em 🥰
My only scepticism with using this solution as opposed to gaming headsets: 1. No volume control 2. Headphones aren’t design for long sessions either physically (pads or comfort) and in the sound design (listening fatigue with peaky tuning). 3. Headphone impedance compatibility with a controller.
@Yu7Zi fair points. On board volume control is a nice feature to have. I don't really agree with design for comfort, as moat headsets I've owned or tried have been very uncomfortable with very poor quality earpads. Headphone impedance is a point I regret not making in the video, thank you for bringing that up. Most Headphones are 32 ohms so for most cases it shouldn't be an issue, but you're right to make a point of it.
Thanks for the response. I agree in terms of comfort many headsets aren’t great either. To be a bit more specific i think weight is the main difference between most headsets being easier to use for longer periods.
It looked like it came with extra sticky pads? How difficult is it to completely remove it after it's been stuck? I'd be worried about it leaving a sticky residue or being stuck too hard and breaking the lacquer?
Yes, you get two sets of sticky pads and two sets of those notched magnetic attachments. The adhesive is strong enough to keep the mic attached, but is also very easy to remove and re-apply without leaving any residue. You might not have noticed, but I actually had to move the mic on the headphone a few times making the review, each time not losing any stickiness to the attachment.
USB and 3.5mm use the same microphone and sound indistinguishable from each other. I have the wireless model coming in now to try out and I'll post a video on that one soon.
Okay that wee visual equaliser in the background wired to your mic, now that is a cool touch. Digging that sir.
@@RocketLauncherwithInfiniteAmmo thanks! Had that thing for a good while but never had a place for it until now.
Whoa! two uploads in less than a week! My youtube feed was starting to run dry but not today!

@@MasterMarslander I totally didn't notice! well done!
yeeeeeessss i used to think that when it comes to gaming gaming headsets are the only way to go. gaming marketing is really good at their job.
Did you had the opportunity to test the rest of the line the USB and wireless?
Do they sound the same as the 3.5mm version?
Thanks

@ that is great to know,
Would be looking forward to the wireless review.
Thanks!
