I think my favorite part of your video is your enthusiasm from beginning to end. It comes across so well. I wonder if this is the first Evangelion DAP marketed and sold outside of Japan. I've been following Evangelion MP3 players since their first collaboration with Apple on a special edition iPod in 2004 that had the Nerv logo as a background wallpaper in its UI. I know there were a couple Sony Walkman Evangelion collabs in the early 2010s for the Japanese market. My prized Evangelion player though is the red Pioneer Evangelion XDP-20, also intended just for the Japanese market. Compared to the HiBy, the Pioneer feels like a deeper, more involved collaboration, with more UI graphics and wallpaper inspired by the anime. Plus it comes with five Evangelion songs.

You guys are clearly all friends or at least acquaintances with each other on this scene. You call the maker of the headphone by his first name multiple times! This video is just a pure advertisement by a salesman. You would never tell us if these headphones were bad in some way. Even comfort part on 14:36 you can clearly see that a suspension strap is touching the metal headband which is obviously not how a suspension strap should sit on the head.

my only issue with the mod is this headphones already are known to break due to the plastic nature of them , so adding the sponge mod only increases that tension making that plastic wear out faster, however even if they break , for how great they sound and how cheap they are taping them or super glueing the plastic if it breaks is totally worth it , hell even buying a new set is worth

I watched all the rebuilds recently and the original show will always be the winner in my heart. It's still worth watching though when you get a chance, it was quite a rollercoaster of an experience.

Hot take, Fiio is saving the audio enthusiast industry. They are filling the holes left in the past with good affordable equipment and audiophile level equipment. While all the big names fall far from what they were Chinese HiFi is growing.

Those group "I won't disclose who" they are so furious they track me down to find which discord group I am in next just to harass and make fun of me for liking a product. Even mean I have ignore them for months and months on end they are still coming for me. It is so annoying that I can't even enjoy what I like anymore. I can't even talk about anything about audio anymore like I am force to quit sharing. I don't understand is why someone thinks that a product is subpar means every single soul must agree to it. Or if my way of viewing this is different from others means I am doing it wrong.

Keyboards can be a nasty habit. At first you think what the fuss was all about. But once you get your first proper keyboard, you suddenly go ooooooh NOW I get it. Nearly went with Keychron, but ended with the Epomaker x Feker 80% and absolutely love it. Made a conscious decision not to go down the keyboard rabbit hole. I don't type for a living or anything like that so it's plenty good enough.

And and I have the Hiby R6 Pro II I bought on Amazon. Then in September right before I went out of town for my 40th high school class reunion I ordered this Evangelion Hiby R4 player from the Hiby website. It was delivered to me right after my husband and I had gotten back from my high school class reunion but when I bought it I decided to put it up for Christmas 2024 and the day after Christmas my husband and I both had gotten sick with the flu even though we had just gotten over a cold during Thanksgiving. I bought my 33 year old twin son and I a Meta Quest 3 for Christmas and on Christmas Day I set that up but the day after Christmas I was going unbox the Hiby player but we both got sick. I did open the main box up on Christmas but I didn't get past that and I figured I open it the day after Christmas. I'm feeling better from being sick with the flu and I'm going to get ready to actually take the wrapping off and open mine up soon too. 🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️

I think they really knocked it out the ballpark because of the paper membrane driver. This is usually just in much higher priced headphones like Fostex TH900. I'm not aware of the paper membrane drivers being used in any $150 headphones like this one. This type of driver has some distinct sonic advantages and the driver they are using is also very well tuned. But those paper cone drivers are unique in sound and quite enjoyable and I think the ability for them to utilize it here is why it is such a wonderful deal.

I have the 99 classics among others. They are fun headphones. I don't like the bass on them , which is boomy in my system , and they seem veiled. I also love the look of the sonys! I think, though, that your description of their bass behavior has turned me away. Kinda of a shame. The other Meze headsets - open back, might pull me back to Meze. Also- I'm glad you went with first impressions because I think those are usually most telling of the actual behavior of speakers and headphones, even if you become a fan after several listens.
