You are certainly right that it can be used more broadly than as described. Too often publicity blurbs for products claim that it is specially designed for X, but is also ideal for Y, Z, ... and so on with a list covering everything! In this case, Dawesome has limited his description to the use case that guided his design. He very carefully designs his plugins to be as streamlined and pleasant to use as possible, avoiding too many options in favour of excellent quality user interfaces to match the wonderful sound quality. So, I appreciate that he has limited his product description to the purposes behind the design.
But you are right, all the same! It is a fantastic multi-effect plugin.
I think that the whole drone / soundscape angle is mostly based on the clouds and shimmer module. ''Get all Dawsome effects on all your audio'' would have been a good promo as well ;-)

Dawesome makes some pretty awesome stuff, as I do have an account I got myself the demo. its my first dawesome vst, I still have the others in my to get list, abyss is dope too

I was on the fence about the plug-in but this comment convinced me to get it 👍
They (Dawsome, Tracktion) certainly have quality products, currently I'm using Chop Suey and... the other one which I can't remember the name, that granual thing (not Novum... SpaceCraft, that's it!). Other things... Kult, Novum... I already have too much of everything, tbh. Too many plugins...

@@whitenoisestudio well... perhaps I could acquire another one, but... it confuses me that their plugins are under at least 3 different vendors, and I dislike that (just my occasional OCD) 😂 Should be more consistent with that. And for some unknown reason one of the plugins works fine with Cubase Pro but is unavailable under Ableton Live, on Mac Studio M1 Max. Perhaps I should have stick with Windows 11 on Dell... No? (is it just me being picky, or Windows 11 are horrible (much worse than Win10), as well as Dell computers - they went so bad in last 5 years, and that's why I went for Mac Studio - I am yet to install all the plugins I own, gosh that's a tedious work...
@@whitenoisestudio so basically it comes to this: "Will I have to buy, register, download and install yet another plugin just to realise that I'll probably have to that all over again? Hell no, I'd rather stick to the plugins that I already have (and that's a lot)... please, no more plugins 😂 no more registration, e-mail confirmations, no more spam emails from vendors, just peace and quiet... :) disconnect from Internet? If only I could... 😂

I pursue every single Dawesome release with interest and own them all. They are all kind of „nobrainers“ - for those few not understanding - a nobrainer is e.g. sth that is so cheap, it has to be an error

I bought it when I saw it. Because there wasn‘t any DAWESOME release that didn’t match my Gusto. Peter (& the genius brain behind) makes some Music Voodoo/Magic things, that perfectly fill „the missing link“ or simple „the gap“ in my VST-Host. And every plug-in is deep - if you want it to be deep or just take it as a preset machine (booo)

is it cpu heavy?
Even though I don't mind aliasing at much with this kind of synth style effect....I still wish it had oversampling and filters to cut anything off above Nyquist. I still think it would sound better. More like analog synths. Which most of the patches don't alias on. Yes I know I sound like broken record but it's been so evident since I really started hearing it. And what it sounds like when aliasing isn't there. I do like this plugin though. I could see using it. Here and there at least. Thanks for the video.
I wouldn't use it in vocals. On synths it works. Been really enjoying what happens when all the aliasing is removed from a mix. It's now a good sign when your can hear aliasing in a single track! Imagine using that on all of your tracks. So much of a frequency foldback. I know not everybody dislikes it.
