Hey guys! In this video I go over the life of Lasalle P. from the video game Jurassic Park Trespasser! In my opinion the death of the most underrated InGen Hunter from The Lost World is basically what we're going over here, and I think more people need to know about this character that was cut out of the video game and not even mentioned in the second film. Dinosaurs are cool and I love most of these movies but this video game has something REALLY cool in it! ;D Hope you all enjoy! :D

I only liked Jurassic Park before I found your channel. Now i can't get enough.
Right lol?
I know this is unrelated but I really wish they had kept Ajay's death scene in the lost world. Him dying with grace would've added a lot to his character for me.
Don't go into the long grass!
Amen
Agreed!
There was a comic version of the movie and in one panel shows Ajay's death in which he was the last one alive in the long grass.
That intro. Hammonds voice. So haunting and so beautiful.
So soothing as well
I had no idea this guy existed. I love these kinds of videos where you talk about little-known elements of JP lore.
me too I thought he died along time ago?
LaSalle was killed by raptor tribe C, alongside hunters who survived the long grass incident. In Trespasser it appears that only 3 or 5 hunters reached evacuation point and survived, but LaSalle’s group (who headed to Mt. Watson) were never found and their skeletons can actually be found in Ascent level and some Hammond voice-overs are still there, just inactive.
Klayton, you actually found LaSalle’s skeleton during your walkthrough
From what level and part of the walkthrough was that in?.
Nexus Prime42 LaSalle and other hunters were killed in Ascent 1 level, voice-overs from there can be found in the game files. Originally voice-overs were placed near skeleton - one of them is LaSalle. However it is unknown which skeleton in this level actually LaSalle
Maybe he is the same character. That would be awesome if there was a tie in with the InGen hunter from The Lost World and the Jurassic World. I knew about none of this until just now.
It instantly adds more to Jurassic World, for me, as it provides a tie to The Lost World; that aside, JW kind of pretends that TLW didn't happen, seeing as how Hammond wanted the island to become a nature preserve and wanted people to have nothing to do with dinosaurs and would never work with Masrani to create another park.
I am a simple man. I hear Richard Attenborough's performance from Trespasser, I like.
😅Oh the irony.
Delta killing the actor who possibly played one of the few survivors of the killing in the long grass scene from the Lost World.
😏Kind of a Jurassic version of “Final Destination”.
equarg nah, it would be like final destination if all the survivors were killed but yeah, it really is similar 😂
🥰 Oh yea! I got pinned!
Thank you Klayton!
I've thought about that lately he finally got killed by a raptor
@@aaronambrose5256 as much as i like jurassic world i would want to know about the ingen hunters who possibly made it. i mean in the lost world ian said there could be other survivors. we only saw roland but whos to stay there aren't more people who survived the long grass scene and hopefully this does become canon.
There's something chilling about Hammond listing the names of each hunter followed by the words, "Still Missing" it just gives you this feeling that this Island was, no matter what your background (soldier, police, mercenary etc), your last resting place
Breach RaptorNEW yeah but the thing is,
Modern soldiers, hunters mercenaries, police, etc. would actually annihilate the dinosaurs pretty quickly.
The weapons, the training, literally everything they have makes them just about unstoppable if dinosaurs attacked.
The movies and books want you to believe even our best and brightest are no match when in reality the dinosaurs would be no match
@@harrywarden7675 true, but then again, i'm always nature over man, like Roland said, "I'm one of those Earth First bastards." :D But yea, in actuality, the people listed would definitely have the upper hand
@@harrywarden7675 Basically Dinocrisis.
@@harrywarden7675 It depends. if you let yourself be ambushed, no training on earth will save you!
@@harrywarden7675 The raptors would adapt but yeah they'd be killed more often
Amazing video!!! Top tier TLW content, thanks for sharing those haunting audio files. And the return of the TLW actor in JW is so crazy cool! He survives about 17 years only to get killed by a raptor after all.
I was thinking the same thing he escaped tlw but not jw really crazy lol
Hi, Klayton! I just had the time to check out this video now. Since it's mostly about Trespasser, here's some info you may find interesting:
- In the discarded Pine Valley level, there's an area (which you missed during your playthrough, BTW) with a raptors' nest, where apparently they drag their prey to feast upon them. Not only dinosaur skeletons are lying around, but also several human ones, certainly from the hunters. It's likely that Hammond's voiceovers may have been planned for there.
- In the (also discarded) Plantation House level, there's another area with the remains of a hunters' camp, including a couple damaged vehicles and burnt crates. That's another possible location for some of those voiceovers. If you can, take a look at it.
The names for both of those locations come from the ambient sound and music triggers placed at them in the game. There are no triggers for any voiceovers, however, which may be due to those levels not being completely finihed.
The Hammond voice overs from Trespasser will always be one of my favorite parts of the franchise. Even if they aren't all canon and were in a (let's be honest) terrible game they're such an interesting look into the story. Attenborough's fantastic delivery of it being the icing on the cake. Something every fan of the franchise should listen to at least once.
So thanks for continuing to make more people aware of it Klayton!
If he were included in the film series... Having hear this in Fallen Kingdom as he foreshadows the previous experience will make the hired guns worry about the very nature of Isla Nublar and the dangers of every dinosaur. Making it more imaginable and intense...
All and all, this is a dam good fun video :) keep it up! :)
You remember that chap a few years back? I forget his name, climbed Everest without any oxygen, came down nearly dead. They all asked him, they said, "Why did you go up there to die?" He said, "I didn't. I went up there to live."-Roland Tembo
He's referring to Reinhold Messner. First person to make a solo ascent of Everest without supplemental oxygen.
@@CrustyMcButternuts I didn't know that. That's pretty awesome, thanks.
The nameless Merc who appeared in JW is probably the same as the guy from TLW:JP... Why do I say this? Not only was it the same actor, but both were hired by inGen for the same purpose... My head canon is sold on him being the same character....
Ironically, this cameo greatly mirrors Billy Yoder's comments on being an inGen mercenary, a "faceless grunt, expendable," as it takes a bit of digging to realize who the actor was AND how swiftly he'd appeared in TLW and died in JW
Hearing Hammond going down the list gave me chills.
InGen: "We have so many people missing!"
Raptor (kicking a human corpse behind itself): "Can't imagine why..."
That’s so cool to hear that One ingen hunter came back to see in Jurassic world Mercenary that’s really cool to see this character come back from the lost world Jurassic Park
And even best and sad death to see this character died in Jurassic world 2015
Isle Nublar Incident
RIP Ingen Mercenary 😭😢😰
Man that would REALLY suck. You survived a raptor attack on Sorna, later hired to work alongside raptors, and then get killed by one years later on Nublar. I mean I'll bet you once the raptors turned that guy bolted back cause he knew from experience what the hell was going to happen. I mean he did get back to the base pretty damn quick considering how far they had to go before finding the Indominus, and he did so on foot since for some reason while they did head over there in vehicles, he wasn't in one and he was trying to get into the van/truck that Claire and the kids were in before Delta got him.
This is such a great story. It is sad it's always overlooked
Can you make a video of Dodgeson's death in the Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park Novel Series please?
I think he has done a video on that. Look it up on his channel. I hope you find it 👍
@@mohitgadre4290 no, I don't see it on the Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park Novel Series playlist. And it is Lewis Dodgeson.
@@conniecastro4323Thanks for the clarification. Here's something to tide you over until Klayton comes out with video on your suggested topic ua-cam.com/video/Q76M9Odk0Kg/v-deo.html
@@mohitgadre4290 what Kalyton actually did a video about, was the alternative Peter Ludlow's death, where he would be catched by the male Tyrannosaurus and brought to the nest were the infant would kill him, not before having his legs crushed by the jaws of the father, preety much like Dodgeson's death in the novel.
Awesome video.
This could be like the call back from the first movie when Muldoon was killed by the Velociraptor called the Big One.
Huh. I didn't know Roland had a disciple before. Cool!
Lasalle P. Is supposedly supposed to be the skeleton you see at the top of the mountain just before you meet the alpha raptor at the end of the last level, indicating he made it to the comm station but didn’t live to make it to the chopper he managed to get sent there.
This info is from the old jplegacy site that’s now defunct, I just remember it from way back when. I don’t know where the site operators got the info on lasalle itself though
Since you’re the Jurassic Park guru it might be something cool to see if you can confirm it?
I don't think there's really any indication that Lasalle is supposed to be anywhere in particular, Hammond's script is out of order to begin with, and Lasalle is bundled with all the other names.
I have an alternate theory about LaSalle and his fate. Because the dialogue about LaSalle was ultimately cut from the Trespasser game, we’ll never know for certain. But I suspect from comparisons with LaSalle and Roland Tembo’s sidekick Ajay Sidhu from “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” Movie. Although there are some differences, there are enough similarities for me to believe that LaSalle and Ajay are supposed to be the same character, the stereotypical “unlucky sidekick who doesn’t make it out alive.” Remember, the game and movie were being written and developed around the same time (with the game’s release being delayed a year after the movie released). LaSalle is never mentioned in the movie, nor is Ajay on the list of “missing, presumed dead” in the video game. Although I don’t know for certain, I suspect that LaSalle died in the game the same way Ajay did in the movie. He went into the tall grass and was ambushed by the raptors. One of the bodies Ann finds in “Trespasser” must be LaSalle/Ajay, although it is impossible to identify the remains.
I wish we could get a Jurassic park hunting game centered around the hunters where you can actually hunt and kill or capture the dinosaurs.
Centered around single player but would still have a co-op mode, an information index of every dinosaur except for a few secret ones, hunting mechanics that really make you feel like you're hunting something, customization that actually makes sense for hunters to have, the vehicles from Lost World and some new ones (all are drivable), the co-op mode could have between 2-8 hunters, a plethora of real weapons that are used for hunting and some that aren't but would still fit the game, a trophy system, a camouflage system, weather system, food and water system, camp building system, a story (obviously), and quite a large amount of other things.
But it's not gonna happen because most fans (the casuals) won't want a game where you hunt and kill Dinosaurs that they've grown to love as adorable little critters.........
Even though they are literal monsters and a game like this would be amazing.....
That's my 2 cents for a day
Klayton I cannot stress enough how much I love your channel! Keep it up!
Glad this video up. I somehow completely forgot that guy I once looked up.
Thanks for the new Tres vid! Always nice to see; the hunter death voiceovers are fan favorites.
I’d love to see them make a game where you are one of the hunters and you have to survive alone or try and get to the chopper! I always loved this game and I’m glad one of my favourite youtubers can play it and enjoy it!
Our lives are in your hands and you have Butterfingers!?
LOL I am totally unappreciated in my time. You can run this park with minimal staff for three days. You think that kind of automation is easy? **sips Soda** Or cheap? Do you know how many people can debug three million lines of code for what I bid for this job? Because if you do I'd love to see them try.
I'm sorry about your financial problems Dennis I really am but they are your problems.
@@chrishern8645 Oh you're right John you're absolutely right everything's my problem.
@@TivonSanders I will not get drawn into another financial debate with you Dennis I really will not!

The one InGen hunter surving the TLW then dying in Jurassic World? What an intriguing idea. Makes you want to know more about him & the other InGen hunters. The deleted scene with Arjay recruiting Roland is great & does add more to his character & the character's relationship to Roland.
I got to meet Richard A. in 1999, he was a great actor & an even greater man. He was a friend of my grandfather. He is still sorely missed by my grandfather.
Try to count or estimate the total number of hunters in JP2. In the long grass, i count between 15 and 20 hunters maximum. So, if ingen brink 50 hunters, only 50% of them go in longrass. Also, some of longrass hunters survive, because we ears gunshots when malcom cross the long grass. The shooting script say a bunch of surviving hunters enter in the worker village after the gatherers leave and they hail the helicopter. Also, the pilot helicopter said another chopper is coming to take others survivors. Some of hunters could had did like ludlow when the rex attack the camp.
The Lost World rules!! do you have any plans in the coming weeks to make a T-Rex vid? if so I beg you to make one on the doe rex. she is unfortunately the black sheep in the rex family that never gets talked about. she's the "poor mans rexy" Hell even the JP3 rex gets talked about more.. thank you for putting out such great content for people like us in the JP/JW community to consume! Idk what we'd do without you man!
I just love all the deeper lore of Jurassic!!! I really wish more of Trespasser elements were canonized in the film universe! Just fix some dates from Hammond's memoirs and we're good!
I freaking LOVE your channel bro!!!
If Trasspaser has some sort of remake someday, this could be a cool feature in the game, looking for the bodies or graves of all the Ingen hunters that were missing, the cool thing would be that you will have to look for then, something like the COG tags of Gears Of War, they could even put something like diaries about how it was their last moments. Maybe the Hunters where badass enought for survive and not being eaten by the dinos, but they died eventually.
According to Trespasser Official Strategy Guide are "Ex-policeman" and "Maharajah" two completely separated characters. The author of Jurassic Time didn't know that when he compiled that chapter.
I've seen the character mentioned on a wiki before, but this is the first time I've heard the audio files, neat.
Also, now I'm wondering if the name "LaSalle, P." may be a reference to Philip Salas, one of the artists from the Trespasser Team... and if so, if the other hunters' names are also references to other members of the developers' team.
Of course, you could always just ask Austin Grossman, since he wrote the script...
Just makes me wanna play Trespasser again
This intro and the one that talked about the importance of Ian Malcolm are my favoritws thus far. I was unaware of this character until now. What I'm wondering is how Roland was able to meet up with Ludlow after the male rex was subdued?
I wonder if Ludlow was actually passed out from drinking and never heard any of the commotion, waking up only after Roland had tranquilized the Buck.
@@tonyb4206 Idk if you know but that's how the fawn rex's leg was broken, so to speak: Ludlow was drunk and fell on it.
@@kalebharris80s yeah, that helped me come up with my idea above
I'd really like to know why all these armed, organized, and experienced hunters "never stood a chance." Seems to me the filmmakers pushing the dinosaurs as nigh-invincible movie monsters more than dangerous animals that aren't fully understood.
I really wish people would stop sh*tting on Trespasser. DreamWorks literally screwed the development team over by forcing them to release two years early. What got released? Literally is the beta version they had to show to their financers to prove the concept worked. And compared to some of the fully developed games that came out around the same time, it was still pretty awesome. And all the games that came after that people love, FarCry, half life, owe their existence to Trespasser.
The beginning of this is so creepy man
I wish Jurassic Park was rated r it would’ve been way realistic and I wish there would be more screen time for the hunters but it only focused on Ian Malcom and it’s group.
I actually read about LaSalle P. on Fandom's Jurassic Wikia. I even planned to use his name for a character in a story I was writing. Until I decided to change the idea altogether.
Really excited to see what you do with Harold Greenwood.
Need a Trespasser film that at least alludes to what happened to Site B. A JW prequel...
No one will ever replace Robert Muldoon from the original JP
I've always wondered what those hunters names were. I t never occurred to me until now. Thanks for the video! 😁😁
my motivation to continue on with my responsabilities... still missing
Wait, dude survives a raptor attack on Sorna, only to get ganked by another raptor on Nublar. I'd of quit after Sorna. Ingen must offer a FANTASTIC benefits plan to keep people employed by them after all the bullshit Ingen has been part of.
I just checked out Jurassic Time and It's really bad ass
Really is it true!? That the Burgundy Shirt guy is Van Horn S.T!? he's the Veterinarian... Nice!
Great essential information Klayton. Its all new to me. Without character development I naturally assumed they were just a bunch of bozos especially after their cowboy antics in the round-up scene, their lack of security in the campsite scene, and their general lassai-faire attitude to being in a life and death situation. I want to know more about La Salle...
The thing that stands out to me is that those guys were apparently all seasoned hunters and poachers. Sorna was a real hellscape.
This channel is perfect for Jurassic Park fans.
Very good point. What if a hunter survived the T Rex's or Raptors lost their radio and presumed dead but was left on the island alone and knocked out or injured. Could of been picked up later when the Spinosaurus was being created or better yet was the first human the Spino killed which could be another factor in why it kept hunting Grant's group. Human tasty :P
That would be an interesting idea for a video game plot. Could work for Trespasser style game very well.
@@Grumpydrawer I agree with that. A ingen hunter that knew Roland would have had good hunting and survival skills. 😊
Nah, he is dead 100%. His skeleton can be found in Ascent 1, just without voice-over from Hammond
@@Uselessmouth12 I said a hunter. I asume that Roland picked many of the hunters for his group wanting some at least competent people about.
Alan Collings I don’t think that Roland hand-picked his team. Maybe it was Ludlow who hired other hunters, because it’s pretty obvious that Roland dislikes Dieter. And he doesn’t care about other hunters (only Ajay)
Many thanks for your work
Thanks Clayton, you the man for doing the digging some of us lazier JP fans don’t want to do!
I remember that deleted scene where Ludlow fell on the baby rexy monster, he first opened up a box which had wine bottles in it and he was drinking a cup of wine and after the broadcast he was drinking wine straight out of the bottle and mixing his spirits with it in his flask. When he fell on the baby rexy monster he dropped his wine bottle and left it there. Roland yelled at Ludlow "You're drunk!!" and that was it. The scene was cut but it was in a making of or something that I have been unable to find hey. Of course in the end the baby rexy monster got to eat Ludlow which was justice against the drunk man who broke his leg.
Pin me...pin me, see nobody cares (Dennis voice)

"Nice pin... what are you trying to look like? A special snowflake?"
@@TyrannoWright that will be the day half life 3 comes out sunshine
Man, The Lost World Jurassic Park. The story where the villains are more interesting and heroic than our protagonist characters.
There's a lot to be said for the theory that the "villains" are the actual good guys of the movie and our protagonists are villain protagonists. Not all of the other party are good guys, obviously. Ludlow and Dieter aren't, for sure. But the rest are just there cataloging the place and following orders, and they're the ones saving the protagonists' skins even after they wrecked the camp.
Interesting and cool video 🙂👍🦖
Ive played Trespasser this news is definitely new too me. I'm curious about something maybe you know Klayton. Not counting the protagonists in the newer video game. Was there any one left on Nublar after Grant and the other survivors left.
In movies i always feel bad for those side characters lol
Make a new video comparing Rober Muldoon, Roland Tembo, and Ken Weathley. I also imagine how would have been is Robert had survived JP 1 and appeared again in JP2, meting his antagonist Roland Tembo. What would each other might have think of the other?
My top 5
1. Jurassic world fallen kingdom
2.jurassic park
3jurassic world
4.the lost world
5.jurassic park 3
The beginning was pretty dark but awesome 😨😎
Hey Klayton. I’ve been watching The Lost World Jurassic Park for the nth time today, and I have thought of a question that I don’t think anybody has touched upon. How would an alternate scenario play out if Nick Van Owen picked up the phone when Ian calls from the High Hide to warn them about the Rex parents heading to the trailer?
I always heard about lo but LaSalle. I heard of him during some special game play of different levels.
Nothing like Coming Home to watch a new klayton video
Yhis info. Is new to me but wow didn't know the guy from TLW is same guy in JW.
The Lost World era is my favorite period in the franchise's timeline. It's ripe for more exploration via novels and other mediums. They should remake Trespasser and have it canon in my opinion.
No no no Universal AND Steven Spielberg need to revisit Trespasser!
Yes it received poor reviews but if they listened to the fan community they would have a better understanding on how important and ambitious the game was.
"Most of them had worked at my African parks for years, they never stood a chance."
Man this info is all new to me
Isla Sorna is still save island lol.
Character like him in jw3..probably somehow
Anyone else notice that in all five movies so far the deaths are the results of idiots doing stupid crap causing the dinos to get lose/ putting people in a situation to be attacked
I love how he says: "they worked at my African parks for years, they never stood a chance" like they had to deal with lions elephants and stuff but still weren't prepared for what they were gonna face
The intro voice sounded like Bane
If that guy killed by Delta is from lost world. Then that really sucks for that guy. He survived it once, but couldn't the second
me Bricklord47 you’ll find he’s just a stunt performer who happened to be used in both films. As always people realise it’s the same person and straight away assume it’s the same character in the franchise
@@trippnoutmotorsport3164
Well I mean if it was the same character, then it would have sucked
I think I can't use him as my story on Google docs. This character was the main character of Roland tembo and now I can't use him (of course I didn't know his name so I came up with one) but his role in the story was a leader of an operation to put isla sorna down to hell and he would be Roland's son
No noise in the long grass!!!
Makes you wonder if LaSalle could have also been the generic Hunter from the second arc in the Lost World game and some of the random promotional material around the time of the film, and that the figure of Dieter Stark looks so generic and not like Peter Stormare. Guess you got to put a characters name on a box to sell toys even if they are very secondary.
Somebody should write a fan novel from LaSalle’s perspective. I think it would be fun.
Or some died from the pterodactyls the hang gliding moment. XD
Edit: Oh really he was the same actor? Wow. I would think of that as a possibility. Funny, dodges all the raptors in the TALL GRASS only to be killed later by a wide open parking lot later. XD
it'd be really cool if someone remade trespasser with ark
Interesting.
Maybe some survived the same way we saw in a deleted scene. Jumping off a cliff with their glider thingy.
It is pretty cool! They died what they believed in. They didn't die for nothing. They're gone, hug not forgotten.
Lasalle might even be that InGen hunter that is in both The lost world and Jurassic World. Probably not but who knows.
I didn't know that !!
I love to see some of the remaining survivors in the next JW movie, just keep all things canon and connected
My favorite Hunter remains as Dieter Stark
class of 2019
Thought recognized that guy
