I remember playing this, AND I was scared of it until I was 9 (and THIS is coming from a guy who wasn’t scared of the original Jurassic Park, the original The Land Before Time, AND Disney’s Dinosaur as well as bloody and violent scenes in dinosaur picture books as a kid who loves dinosaurs).
honestly i find these types of cd-rom games so fascinating becuse how old they are and they give off a eerie vibe especially the music when you turn to the t-rex and that's not mentioning the fact thath most of the dinosaurs are outdated which in my opinion outdated dinosaurs are scary, i never knew thath this game existed until now and i really find it intrestig, the only cd-rom games thath i knew of were the bionicle ones. i also really like how it has some futuristic/sci-fi machines inside an old cave, this would be awsome if this was a real life museum. and also one question: how much did the game cost when you found it?
True, games like these are amazing, and to be honest I bought it years ago. The description is just for the lore of a little found footage/analog horror thing I am making.
Mostly real. It's footage from the 1990s educational game "Eyewitness: Dinosaur Hunter", set in a virtual museum that was made to look and sound incredibly creepy for no discernible reason. Some details are edited, but most stuff, including the distorted ambient roars, are straight from the original game. [Edited to reduce spoilers]
Despite this game being educational, this felt more like a survival horror game. You expected a dinosaur to jump scare you.

Now this is a blast from the past.
Ah! That eyewitness opening song!
This and the Earth core one have to be the creepiest pc cd rom education games I’ve ever played
