Wait a minute, I just noticed something, technically, Revolutions loop was the first modern coaster loop so it was the tallest and smallest one at one point and Full Throttles had the tallest loop at one point, so the coaster with what ones was the smallest loop is right next to the coaster that ones had the biggest loop.
Pre 1995 the race to make increased multiple inversion coasters, resulted in rides that were slow, boring, and quite uncomfortable due to the shoulder restraints. In recent years, coaster manufacturers have really changed the experience with incredible elements, pushing the envelope of extreme excitement. How times have changed.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is my home park, I would rank things this way: 1. X2- First Drop 2. Twisted Colossus- Hill before the High Five or the Top Gun Stall 3. Tatsu- Pretzel Loop- This is fun intense, not like Goliath's helix 4. Full Throttle- Hang time in the Loop or Final Drop 5. West Coast Racer- High 5 6. Batman- Zero G Roll 7. Scream- Zero G Roll 8. Viper- First Drop 9. Apocalypse- First Drop in back row 10. Riddler's Revenge- the First Loop 11. Ninja- Helix over water 12. Goliath- Air Time Hill- you are correct it is hit or miss 13. New Revolution- Loop 14. Superman- The top of the ride 15. Gold Rusher- Final Helix 16. Canyon Blaster- Final Air Time Hills
Man I can tell you as a California resident myself, I've been riding these coasters for years. I certainly have my favorites and rides that aren't my favorite but still enjoy. X2 is out of this world with its odd, disorienting, and almost unpredictable layout. Twisted Colossus is so much fun with the dueling experience and that top gun stall is amazing. Tatsu is high of the ground and it really feels like you're soaring. That pretzel loop is the most intense element I've experienced. Full Throttle with that 160 ft vertical loop that gives good hang time. Riddler's Revenge is smooth and very fun. My favorite part is going though that vertical loop circling around the lifthill. Goliath with that intense downward helix that can still make people gray-out. Batman was my first ever B&M coaster and its a work of art. The inversions are spaced out perfectly and it's stupid intense. Scream has a pretty good layout even tho its nothing unique but still fun. Ninja has a long layout through the woods. Viper is a vintage smooth ride that I always have a soft spot for. So many great things about the roller coasters here. We basically share some similarities with our favorites at this park!
Hot take: X2’s first drop is the best first drop in the United States. Would say world but that probably goes to Eejanaika even though I haven’t ridden it lol
I haven’t been to a lot of parks I’m trying to think abt anything else- lightning rod. Twisted collasus green side, steel vengeance is the only things I could think about
Nice video! I agree with a lot of these but I was surprised to see Riddler’s vertical loop as it’s best element. Heck, there’s even an inclined loop that provides generally the same sensations but.. well.. inclined.
I remember riding Ninja back around 1990. Loved it - the idea of the cars hanging from the track and the extra motion that provided was fantastic. The last time I was at Magic Mountain a few years ago I trudged up the hill to the ride - only disappointment was how derelict and un-maintained the area was. Several building looked like they were about ready to fall down.
I'm old enough to have gone to the park when Gold Rusher and Mountain Express were the only coasters. Nice to see the helix finale of Gold Rusher crack the Top 10. And it's too bad the finale of Ninja is quickly followed by the end of ride lift hill. The price you pay for starting on top of the mountain.
Wow, so you were even there when Revolution first opened? What was it like? I’ve heard stories about some sort of fog and the line taking ~6 hours to get through.
NGL I'm glad you gave Goliath its time with the double helix. That would be my favorite element imo. However I have not RIDDEN Goliath. I rode her sister, which packs 2 OF THEM. Love you Titan! ^^
I love intensity so my list includes the elements you talked about but didn't select for the most part. Full throttles top of the loop is so special. I like it better at night even better when it's cool/cold and Holiday in the Park is going on. Nothing like it.
Major disagreements: Goliath - first drop Batman the ride - zero g roll Superman - stall at top Tatsu - pretzel loop Other than that this is a pretty good list
Goliaths first drop is really...really shallow but it does last a long time. But i understand the other 3. The zero g roll is really good on batman but i think the corkscrews are more whippy
@@AirtimeThrills something about it (height, train design, tunnel at the bottom) means that even tho it's not as steep or fast, you still feel it much more than on a B&M hyper
@@AirtimeThrills Video POV's don't show it, but when I'm actually on Goliath that tunnel at the bottom of the first drop looks really tiny. That's the biggest thrill on it for me.

I saw Full Throttle roll back. I was sitting on the train in the final brake run when the other train rolled back. It took about 10 minutes to get things reset. It was in the last hour of the day, sun setting, and I was afraid I wouldn't get to X2 in time for a couple last rides, but I made it.
I agree with most of this list but for tatsu I love the turn around that's facing riddlers and the pretzel loop of course, the first loop of viper especially in the front row is awesome, X2 the first raven turn (I've got a scary story about the drop) and the 2nd dive loop on riddlers.
I'm not a huge fan of x2 overall as that final raven turn always leaves me feeling like crap, but I have to admit the first drop and the big raven turn are insane and some of the best elements of all time.
Totally agree on Tatsu's turn, love those views. Surprised that Gold Rusher is so high on the list, always like to joke that Gold Rusher is the best ride in the park 🤣
Any video that talks about twisted colossus makes me regret not riding it because of the long wait. I didn't realize it was one of the best coasters in the park, I thought Goliath was which was part of why I rode it twice(the other reason why I rode it over TC is because goliath was the reason I came to the park) I didn't realize that there was a much better ride I could've rode instead. Well on the plus side I have these videos to refer to and watch so I don't make the same mistake again
I was good with you passing on Goliath's helix, but I couldn't accept the skip of the pretzel loop. For me, that's right up there with X2's drop and several moments on Twisted Colossus!
My Niece and I had a roll back on Full Throttle and it was, Awesome!!! As soon as the launch released I look at my niece and said, we are not going to make it, best ride ever!
I’ve never understood people saying Tatsu’s (or any flying coaster) pretzel loop is intense. It’s more trippy, I hardly notice any forces during it, just a super fun element that for some reason a lot of people think they’re being crushed or something lol
I was a part of the gp when I rode x2. It took me a few hours to decide I would ride. Also I had no idea that the seats flipped. I don’t think I ever screamed louder in my life then I did my first time riding x2
Shocking that a channel titled "Airtime Thrills" believes that airtime is the #1 element on most of those rides. ;) Seriously though, I agree with most of those. Even though I like the pretzel loop the best on Tatsu (I just love that feeling of my back being pressed downward into my seat) I still totally agree with that scenic turnaround. Tatsu is one of my most favorite coasters to ride during Holiday in the Park for that precise reason. Even though the height still scares the hell out of me! And +1 on that X2 first drop. It's the part I most look forward to every time I ride it!

I was on vacation in Cali last week. I rode X2 twice in back once in the daytime another time at night. It is pretty rough at the end but I still don’t know what to think of the ride it’s terrifying and wild but I can’t give it a rating because is it more fun or chaotic ? I’d have to ride it some more. Nah. BGT has one of the best lineups in the country. They also have Iron Gwazi
@@bapmain7587 it was a joke...but I do agree. BGT is my #3 park right now and Gwazi will hopefully bring it up
I was there in December and seeing Iron Gwazi in person is amazing. Also, the lines were insanly long when we went (Cheetah hunt was 3 hours)
@@bapmain7587 lol I waited 2 hours for Cobras Curse on New Years Eve
*DETROIT LIONS*
Actually, the best element on Magic Flyer is the front car
Yeah, it’s just a shame it’s no longer tied to Thomas the Tank Engine.
More of these please!
Loving the videos chris!
I’m 10 and am craving for tatsu
Yeah, that dragon is hot.
Because of the flames
Of force
My top bucket list park next to energylandia.
Those double corkscrews killed my head lol, those were my least favorite elements.
Hey Chris, could you do a series with you ranking parks on their coaster collection by manufacturer?
I did this with B&M, but the only thing is not many parks have multiples from the same manufacturer
Call me crazy but GOLIATHS AIRTIME HILL IS ELITE!!!
everything else abt it is trash though
Its elite sometimes, others its just as trash as the rest of the ride
Over and underrated parks we NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED
I got a rollback on FT, super cool lol
And ranking twisted colossus’s elements
Was all the footage of Superman from it running backwards? Now that I've finally done the launch forward and fallen backwards, I can say I prefer the backwards launch and falling forward.
Yeah it was. When i made this they hadnt turned the train around yet
Top 2 Elements: On X2 and Twisted Colossus
We weren't surprised.
im sorry but that green high 5 was insane. X2s drop feels like you have flipped over in a car.
Yes more about Magic Mountain
Hey, Chris! I was wondering if I could have your permission to make reactions to some of your videos. I will give you credit and I am not monetized. Thank you.
Go ahead!
@@AirtimeThrills thanks, man.
great video its very unique
Number #1 Sixflags ❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
sweet video! gonna watch rn!
Now make a custom planet coaster with all of these
Can you do top 10 queue line switchbacks at Elitch Gardens?
Best moment on Goliath. When it's over.
you should do this for more parks
1:52
YES
I like this idea, definitely do more for other parks
I rolled back on full throttle it was weird but fun
My 3 favourite elements are:
Top hat on ICON
First drop on the big one
Both drops on the Revolution
And where is our *beloved* green lantern first flight? 🤣
You should do the best element ranked at six flags over Texas. shockwave should top the list
I want one more visit where i can ride everything and I'll do that for this park
Thank you it my home park
I would say that number 16 should be green lanterns breaks. I know its not there anymore, but still...
