@@JBguitar-cj8pc Kind of surprising if you watch his videos enough. He has said Diamondback is his favorite B&M hyper but it isn't good enough to make the top 4 while Mako does make it and Florida is number 1. For Ohio, I would've changed out Orion with Diamondback. Millennium Force has the giga coaster slot filled for the state and thought it was an overall better ride. Orion was a fun ride, but I felt between Millennium Force and Diamondback, they made a more complete set of coasters than Orion was.
I also did like how you actually went with geographical location for South Carolina and not just another enthusiast who considers Intimidator, Afterburn, and Copperhead Strike to be in North Carolina. It was always a pet peeve of mine. I get the park's address is in NC, but if it's over the border, it's in that state, plain and simple.

    • @JJJJ-he8bz
      @JJJJ-he8bz 3 роки тому +4

I feel like Orion blows Diamondback away and in the front row might surpass millennium force. It may not have as many hills as Diamondback but Orion’s hills are just far more powerful and intense with the first drop being even better than Fury or Millennium Forces drop in the back row because of how sharp the crest is. Diamondback back crawls overs it’s hills and you have to sit in the back row to feel any force.

Cool idea for rankings! The only state I've rode about all the major coasters in would be Florida (but soon to be Georgia too). I do agree with the picks for the Florida coasters, so I don't have much to provide in my own opinion, so for the 3 people that enjoy my comments, I'll just give my top 4 coasters for Florida:
    4. Incredible Hulk
    3. Hagrid's
    2. Manta
    1. Mako
I think this also does well for me in terms of variety. I think Iron Gwazi and VelociCoaster (which I haven't ridden) have a good chance at my top 4, but it's some stiff competition as I love all these coasters. Montu I only rode once and I got off thinking, "what the heck was that?" so I definitely need more rides to get a better opinion, but I don't think it'll make top 4 for me. Haven't rode SheiKra, but I don't see that being in my top 4 (but still being good). The other upcoming coasters (TRON, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Ice Breaker) all look great, but I don't think they'll be top 4 worthy either. This is a strange comment because I usually provide my own opinion/ranking but I don't have much of a differing opinion on this, so hope someone enjoyed reading a random person's thoughts. Oh, and here's top 4 for Tennessee
    4. Wild Eagle

-Kentucky has a guaranteed Top 3 of Storm Chaser, Lightning Rod, and Kentucky Rumbler, then you can choose your preference between Thunder Run and Kentucky Flyer.
-Six Flags America is the king of airtime. Superman and Wild One are the ultimate ejector machines, while both Batwing and Joker's Jinx pack the positives.
-Six Flags New England has one of the best Top Twos in the country according to most enthusiasts. Once you add Batman and Joker in, this state is easily Top 10 worthy.

I did grow up in Ohio, so I am a little biased, but with that said, I think Ohio would beat Florida, based on my Mt Rushmores and opinions:
Iron Gwazi = Steel Vengeance- Cancel out
Velocicoaster > Maverick- Small win for Fl (Maverick is still fantastic and ultimately a Top 15 coaster, but Velocicoaster will likely beat it when I get around to it)
Mako < Magnum- Magnum is the best hyper I've ridden. There I said it. It's airtime is just amazing. So is Mako, but Magnum is something else. Medium win for Magnum.
Montu > Millie- This is pretty much as close as it gets, but I'll give it to Montu because I just enjoy it a speck more. Small win for Montu.
So it's close; in fact, I'd say it's tied after 4, based on the 2 small wins for Fl, but the Medium win for Oh (that I could honestly go large win with if I wanted) so I'm going to go to sudden death. Whichever number we go to, Mt Rushmore is added to in the state beyond 4 for this exercise.
Manta < TTD- This is based only on ride experience. TTD is a rush, but it's always closed, so that's a knock. Ultimately, even with that, I'll give a small win, and the overall win, to Ohio.
So this was close, and that's just with CP versus Fl really. I haven't been to KI in 10 years, so I didn't include it. Ultimately, I think only Mystic Timbers would've had a shot at Ohio's Mt Rushmore, maybe Orion, because I'm low on Millie, but really Mystic. So yeah. That's that.

Honestly with GAdv being my home park, I can say you’ll likely be more inclined to put Nitro on Jersey’s Mt. Rushmore over Jersey Devil when you get around to riding it. JDC is great, but the pacing even after the inspection is disappointing and I still believe that Nitro is the better ride. I do agree with all of your other placements for that state though, and I’m especially glad you threw Kingda Ka in there, it doesn’t get enough love despite being one of the most intense coasters in the Six Flags chain

You have to get back to CGA to ride Gold Striker. I rode Ghost Rider yesterday and Gold Striker earlier this week, and Gold Striker absolutely kills GhostRider. The thing is out of control and gives a fast ride with tons of airtime. It feels like it's trying to throw you from the car. I've heard they've slowly been retracking it, which would explain why it's running so smooth. It's crazy good.

I feel like I would use diffrent criteria to make this a little more fair and instead of just best, include historic and importance. It would allow states like Illinois (first B&M, first inverted B&M, first large scale intamin) or New York (Coney Island) to compete. Ohio still wins with first 200, 300, and 400 ft coasters and the longest wooden roller coaster, but Pennsylvania and California have a stronger lineups to make it seem like less of a landslide.
Edit: I would personally put Ohio over Florida, but if you took history into it, Florida falls hard. Not to mention at this point I don't believe iron gwazi will ever open.

Honestly, I think the argument could be made that even ignoring Kings Island, Ohio would beat anyone on this list just because of Cedar Point, with the exception of maybe Florida and California. And that's before the history, like you said. Re-introducing KI, The Beast, while not the greatest today, has so much history, as does the The Racer, as it basically re-ignited America's love affair with coasters, and KI suddenly has some weight too, along with its awesome coasters even today. Anyway, yeah, history is very important, especially on a list like this.

Great work tho. I bet you were dying to make this video while at the same time putting it off because of just how difficult it can be to first pick the states and then rank them accordingly based on your picks of best coasters in those states. It sounds easier than it is but you did a great job. Always going to be some people that disagree with certain coasters or states but I really think you did your homework here. Wtg! Keep it up man.
