- XYZ monsters have been a mainstay of players’ extra decks ever since they were first introduced in 2011. These Black-bordered cards can be summoned by overlaying two or more monsters of the same level as materials, making for easy to access monsters with impactful effects. Some levels however, are easier to access than others, and today we’ll be looking at the best of the worst: the top 10 best Rank 11 to 13 XYZ monsters.

My favourite aspect about TY-PHON is how it has the effect to counter ZEUS, but has 100 less attack as a reference to how while Zeus has massive trouble dealing with Typhon in Greek Mythology. he does eventually overcome it
I'm still waiting for the Athena XYZ 😢 as Athena and Zeus actually took Typhon together--in some versions

Yeap. It as battle between evil robot / mecha vs good robot / mecha. Konami animation make anime battle between zeus and ty-phon and it fantastic almost on par like gundam battle.

I find Numerounius and Numerounius numeriounia incredibly funny because I can't for the life of me imagine a game scenario where they're summoned that doesn't involve a series of plays that would kill the opponent in the process at least 5 times
It's not about winning, it's about sending a message, and the message is that winning by inflicting 100.000 damage is exceptionally funny

14:01 Just a quick reminder that Typhon exists in the game as it does _to specially counter Zeus…_ which lines up rather well with the Greek myths surrounding their namesakes (Namely Zeus eventually defeated Typhon in single combat, but not before Typhon A: Sired most of the monsters of Greek mythology with his beloved Echidna, and B: Crippled Zeus and left him within an inch of his life after their first bout)…
Now we just need an Echidna Xyz monster that focuses on mass summoning.
5 level 12s, or 1 rank 12 to summon, with the effect to detach up to 5 materials, then reborn up to 5 monsters from either graveyard would be hype. This way you can make a 6 material zeus with zodiacs, wipe the field, then plop her on top and steal your opponents whole board. Obviously super overpowered but definitely a cool idea I’m sure they could find a way to balance enough to be bad.

They could make it so you’d need to control a face-up Typhon at the same time (BUT to compensate she could also summon those monsters from your hand or deck)… Something to keep with the mythology.

You know, you could probably make an entire archetype around Hercules and his adventures… Himself as the star monster, the other characters and creatures of the story being the other monsters of the archetype, the events of his life could be spells/traps, the gear he used could be equip spells (like the hide of the nemean lion that was nigh-invulnerable even as a pelt)….
Gimme a minute while I brainstorm a proper “Hercules” monster…

The saving grace for Raidraptors rising rebellion falcon is that due to it being a huge 4k beatstick that is fairly hard to get rid of, it's now the new shiny target for Awaken the Dragon instead of Ultimate Falcon for all the matches where you wouldn't be summoning Megaclops.
If you do play trap decks and put Awaken the Dragon in to mess with people, it's great! But it's sadly still pretty meme.
As a Mecha fan, it's pleasing to see 3 Mechs be in the top 4. Yeah maybe Typhon is a fiend, but it's design, and it's canonical rivalry and Mythology referenced rivalry with Zeus, especially with the released Animation Chronicle makes it a mech to to me. Besides, it's head and face are blatantly Astranagant designed. Imagine if there was a Divine Arsenal Mech King Magnaas Zeus that could be made by overlaying a Zeus that has Magnas as a material. It would likely be flat out banned.
Imagine if Zeus and Typhon ended up fusing into one mech, would be crazy
I'm a super huge robot fan in general, so I know how u feel. A lot of dragons/warriors/spellcasters take the spotlight. So it's nice to see a Mech take a spot for once

It would be fun to see the other 11 Divine Arsenals, and then have some insane powered up version of Zeus as well as one for Ty-Phon (thought I doubt there it would be 11 Super Starlayers.
I love how Zeus is such a ridiculously powerful card that people will go *out of their way* to shove it into the extra deck of literally any deck that is theoretically capable of summoning it. He's just the ultimate out. Love him.

Trains and Infinitracks are my very favorite archtypes, so happy to see them both mentioned on this list.

Cant wait for the new Raidraptor support to come out for tcg, I've been a fan of the deck for a couple years now and I would love to get my hands on the new cards!
I use Zeus in Harpie, because it's incredibly easy to get there, too. Cards like Hysteric Party, Harpie Channeler, and even the original Elegant Egotist can swarm the field, and then you summon Harpie's Pet Phantasmal Dragon, which can attack directly, and then suddenly you have a 4 material Zeus staring your opponent in the face.
I just posted that I do the same with Harpies but sometimes it’s Zeus on top of Ice Beast Zerofyne after it’s effects and attacking with varying results
Xyz are my favorite extra deck type. This video is really fun to watch.

I thought I recognized that big tank thing in the thumbnail. I stop playing ages ago but the last time I busted out cards was to play a friend when he found out I still had mine. He wrecked me every time with those trains n/or these kaiju things that summon onto my side of the field. They were 2 separate decks but then I think he merged them into 1 strategy n would beat me on the first turn or 3rd turn the latest. But MtG is more my thing tho I've been playing a decent amount of Hearthstone lately n I'm trying to convince my bro to play the now discontinued Pokémon format where it had all the card in history, those decks r crazy strong n I love it. Trying to take all the lessons I've learned from all these card games n more to design my own card game. Coming along g9od so far but it is still early in development. Wish me luck.
I'm happy that with the new raidraptor support, they are a somewhat ok rogue deck
Hopefully, there will be some old reprints, too. I want Force Strix, but I don't really feel like paying 5 bucks for it.

Should be noted that Great Magnus can be played in most decks that usually Level/Rank 4 spam. I played it in Gadgets. This is because you can use Dreadnought Dreadnoid’s eff to overlay into it if it destroys a monster by battle. If you use three Level 4 monsters for it, you get the ‘unaffected’ eff on Magnus. If you use five, you get the Droll and Lock eff. But it also means you can quick eff shuffle without it losing its protection

It wasn't optimal but I remember it as one of my few original deck ideas

9:01 The Phantom Knights' Rank-Up Magic Launch summons an Exceed monster one Rank higher than the one used as material, so the Rank 8 Number 68: Sanaphond, the Sky Prison cannot be used to bring out the also Rank 8 D/D/D Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga.
You'd have to use a Rank 7 such as Number 11: Big Eye.

i've been. following you since the release of master duel, and i am addicted to your voice man, have you ever consider to voice idk, a top 10 of something else? It would be a bang sure.
84 and 77 are part of one off my favorite combos (numbers 1, 22, or 23 are also part of this combo (one third or maybe half of my extra deck is made of number cards)
I love Great Magnus. Hopefully one day, Konami will give the Super Quant archetype more support, because this deck has a lot of potential.

One thing you forgot to mention about Great Magnus is it can be cheated out by Number 22 Dreadnought Dreadnoid. If you run the right machine type deck, you can easily cheat out Magnus with 2+ materials at least.
The many issue of this set up is like
No27 Dreadnought Dreadnoid requires you to beat over something in the battle phase, this means that the earliest you can do this, is after your opponent has had their turn.
It can be a very fringe r4 way of removal since yes 2+ material great magnus is technically better than Castel because it's non targeted shuffle.
If a deck can do that consistently, they are probably better off removing that problem card with something like Zeus or Underworld Goddess.
@@adamxue6096 It’s definitely fringe, but it can and has been a Bacon Saver (pun intended) in some duels and as a follow up for extra reinforcements in others. Of course, I wouldn’t dare try it in a tournament setting, but it can be useful in a casual duel. But considering the potential uses of Magnus, it’s definitely good to know other ways to summon it.

Well, its def for sure, just that its kinda in similar veins as using RR Rising Rebellion Falcon as an Waking the Dragon target, its great fun, just not all too competitive
using Zeus is pretty great in Earth Machines, cuz with the right hands you can easily put 2 lvl 12s on the field and hard summon Zeus as a board breaker. then if you can combo further you might be able to go into Gustav > Liebe for game
I crafted zeus very fast in master duel because i knew how crazy and accessible is that card and when i read the title i knew zeus would be n.1 because of it. I played it in any deck that can xyz summon easily (even in orcust, paying a lot of attention to deck limits)
10:45 to add to number 99: utopia dragonar, it can do a similar lockout combo to number 93: utopia kaiser. during your turn, you can use the effect of astraltopia (which can be searched through the three material effect of primathmech alembertian which utopia has a surprisingly easy time accessing) to search out zexal construction which in turn can search out any rank-up spell, including the phantom knights rank-up magic launch. before it was banned, dragonar would then use its first summon on number 89: diablosis the mind hacker, attaching the hyper rank-up magic to it so you can use its effect to rip one card from the opponent's extra deck, leaving it with zero material for the phantom knights rank-up. since its banning, instead number 11: big eye has been used, forgoing the effect of the hyper rank-up to attach itself, so that it has zero material
Gustav and Leibe both go well in the extra deck of a time lord deck, specifically if it includes Celestial Transformation
As a Lunalight player finding out all these Rank 11, 12 and 13 monsters being viable on my deck it's like getting christmas early, I thought I was a god for thinking by myself that summoning F0 Draco on my Lunalights now you're telling me I could've been summoning NUMBER FUCKING 38? DAMN
My favorite deck is trains I don't have a lot of good cards though so I brick more often than I'd like preferably not at all but anyway nice to see them on here not that I was surprised. Sky Thunder has helped it out a lot though

While the deck isn't bad, it just couldn't keep up with what was good, much like Morphtronics. If so I'd like to see a video on that

Galaxy Queen's Light is a normal spell card that requires you to control a level 7 or higher monster. You target it, and upon resolving the spell successfully, all other monsters you control becomes the same level.
While it's still a significant investment, if you can summon a high level monster and just swarm, you can use the spell for all kinds of shenanigans.
I used to play it in a Yubel deck many years ago abusing cards like Metal Reflect Slime and Level Eater, but it's effectively dead without the utility of Level Eater
I like to overlay Zeus on top of Ice Beast Zerofyne after using Zerofyne’s effect and attacking with it but haven’t been able to pull it off lately.
Top 10 difficult to summon monsters that regularly see competitive play.

8:57 How are you summoning Kali Yuga with Phantom Knights' RUM Launch and Sanaphond? Don't they have the same Rank?
Quick correction, the kaiser kali yuga combo cannot use sanaphond because it and kali yuga are both rank is 8, the rank-up needs a rank 7 to do him (number 11: big eye is the only option available right now)
You can still use number 77’s effect just not the turn it’s summoned if you summoned it by overlaying it on a rank 10 or 12
Since we're talking about Xyz monsters, I'll suggest Top 10 Xyz Monster Effects That Don't Require Material Detachment again. Toadally Awesome and Azathot would likely be in the top three.
If raidraptors had just 1 more good Xyz monster, i feel we’d see more of their rank 13 monster, cause they’re already really consistent, they just need something to use that consistency on

Super Quantum did have success though. I'm not referring to the Red/Blue/E-Tele Monarch engine either. Magnus was the original reason Kaiju started seeing play the way they do now. It also was one of the early decks to abuse Brilliant Fusion.
You didn't mention you used to be able to easily summon Magnus with Brilliant Fusion engine. You literaly said that in one of your previous videos.

You can get a full 8000 out of the Gustavs if you can make a rank 4: Heavy Armored Train Ironwolf- which could let the 6000atk Liebe declare a direct attack.

Personally my fav way to get out Libe is with the gunkan cards going into number 27 if you can destroy a card in mp2 you can bring out libe is it viable probably not cause you have to destroy a monster to do this
Am I missing something or does the Sanaphond into Kali Yuga rank up not work? Rank Up Magic Launch requires the monster you summon to be one rank higher than the one you're targeting.
I was about to legitimately summon ic1000 in a master duel game and the guy surrendered.
Much as I love RR it doesn’t stop from making me downcast about the casual Rank 13 adopt.
It made its mark as Don Thousand’s “cheat” card for having an overestablished Star count and the highest stat modifier.
Now a Synchro or Fusion printed 13 feels suddenly more attainable.

i made a Utopia Dragonair that can make a full board of negates and the same time draw 5 at turn 1. Utopia really needs now a legit 1 card combo. it has 1 but not that bad the time thief engine.
You should do Top 10 cards with effects that burn your opponent for half of a monster's ATK
I imagine one of them would be Catapult Turtle.
Ty-phon and zeus is deserve as no1 and no2 in the list as both are rival of each other. Both of them battle in recent yugioh anime to show who is the best which is fantastic.

9:02 Wait, doesn't this not work? Phantom knights rank up says you have summon a dark XYZ 1 rank higher than it, so you can't go into kali yuga, you have to go into a rank 9 instead, unless I've missed something you'd have to summon something like Big Eye in order to rank up into Kali Yuga.

There is also Valdrath, a generic Rank 10 with negation. I think that will see some amount of play in decks like Eldlitch, Trains and Yubel.

TY-PHON I will be adding in my train deck since I have AA Zeus in it and it will be pretty spicy… and for those who use AA zeus in a non machine deck… Disgrace for machine users such as me. AND I DO NOT CARE IF TY-PHON IS A FIEND! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A MACHINE IN THE FIRST PLACE… and besides I’ll just use clockwork night for it
On a 2nd run you still need to transfer the save from the first game over since on a NG+ run ONLY party members levels and gold on EASY mode transfer over NOTHING else does.
While a 2nd run DOES have a HARD mode on hard mode NOTHING transfers at all.

What you said about R.R. being irrelevant is not true they were meta in the OCG and are actually pretty decent right now.
The only reason they weren't meta in the TCG was how long it took for the support to actually arrive to the TCG.

For super difficult monsters to summon, I expected Rank 12 or 14 monsters to have more power or presence
Some of them even die to compulsory or Veiler
Idk, Zeus being like a modern day Xyz equivalent of pre-errata Chaos Emperor Dragon minus the hand wipe seems pretty busted to me. Of course they die to Compulsory or Veiler, but not everything can have or needs to have targeting protection.
