    So last night I scheduled the upload/premiere for 12pm and then completely spaced it!! haha so anyway, sorry I wasn't in the live chat. Thanks for watching:) What are your thoughts on this machine??

      It looks a nice machine Parker. NPS I guess will take some getting used to. Great news about BABY and hope Whit is well.

      Your machine’s timing is actually slightly off. Notice how the material actually moves backward ever-so-slightly right before the needle penetrates. This is sometimes simply a matter of your inside (front) presser foot not being completely slid onto its driver.

    Seeing this not quite 2 years since you did it. To address the affiliate situation you spoke of. I don't care at all that you affiliate. I think it is unrealistic for people to expect you not to do this. As long as you are upfront and admit the situation (as you always do) and give truthful information and good pros and cons on your reviews, I say have at it. Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement that you provide less experienced makers. I am shopping around for a class 4 machine right now as I am tired of hand stitching and want to move to the next level. My desire to move to the next level is greatly inspired by you (and others) doing these videos. Thank you!

    Love my Techsew 2750 pro. Bought it out of Montreal in Nov 2018 as a beginner leather sewer after lots of research. Your comment about Ron & staff is bang on. As a beginner, that was a huge advantage. As I learned a bit more, l began to realize how important some of the great features of the machine are that were not always available on other machines. Great machine. Great support. I’m very impressed.

      hey there, did you find you needed to add a speed reducer or was the servo able to be set at a slow enough speed? I have a speed reducer on my flatbed as I prefer a slow and controlled stitch.

    • @robertbutler4393
      @robertbutler4393 4 роки тому

      @@pdee4071 I purchased a speed reducer but have not yet installed it. In fact, now that I’ve had a little experience with the 2750 I find the servo motor runs slowly enough that I’m pretty satisfied. I will eventually install the reducer. But I’m in no hurry, at this point.

      Hey Gary, what kind of leather do you sew with the 5100, trying to decide between that and the 2750 like Parker, but worried the 5100 might be overkill.. also worried that the 2750 might not be enough for some of my bags where I need to go through 3 layers.

    Firstly, congrats on the addition to your family, Parker! You guys deserve all the happiness and support in the world:) Secondly, you're honesty is honourable and you need not feel deterred by nay-sayers. It's easy for people to criticise and take things for granted when you don't understand how much work it takes to make a living out of doing what you love, keeping up an internet presence and supporting your family to boot! You guys are inspiring and you gotta do what you gotta do. And you manage it whilst keeping us all invested in your journey. So thank you:)

    You said the tension "looks pretty good" but I had to pause the vid when you did the quick flip over. The tension is not good as you can see the loops sticking out from the bottom of the leather. Don’t know if you’re being misleading but that quick flip over looks like you’re trying to hide it.

    I've watched this video for the second time and have a few additional thoughts: thanks for the video. Congratulations to you and your growing family. I appreciate the candor about a paid sponsorship. Finally, a request: when you have some time, can you do a video on a project that would be difficult or impossible on a flatbed machine? Show us how the cylinder arm enables you to make something that would be hard or impossible on a flatbed. Thanks and congratulations again. KB.

    I've been looking at Techsew for awhile as well as others for when I'm ready to buy a machine. Unfortunately all the machines seem to be a bit out of my price range, someday I'll probably buy a 5100.
    Partnering with Techsew and Tandy is a smart move and I never feel like I'm being thrown a sales pitch by your videos. There are those on youtube who make sponsored videos and they feel like sales pitches which along with the 5 ads from youtube in the 10min video starts to get under my skin.

    I could go and look up the specs myself. I'm left with so many questions. But it would be a more comprehensive video if you covered and showed stitch length adjustment (yes or no). Lubrication, highest and lowest speeds, different presser foot choices, threading, do's and don'ts, tension, etc you know...All the stuff that matters in day to day use. You did a good job this time around, but I've seen you cover other machines in a way that left me with no questions. Cheers

    • @whitandpark
      @whitandpark  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah I still love it. The 5100 is for a different class of work. It's for saddlery, tack, holsters and all the real heavy duty stuff. The 2750 is a medium weight machine. So it all comes down to what your sewing. I also have cobra class 3, which is the same machine as the 5100 (they're both juki 441 clones) and I use them both quite a bit, but I wouldn't replace one over the other unless I was only focusing on one specific type of work. Hope this makes sense haha

I've been using a pfaff 545 H3 but have been looking at these cylinder arm machines. Problem is I only have room for one machine so if I buy a cylinder arm I'll have to sell my 545. I just want to get one machine to do it all.

      In your video " Best leather sewing machine for beginners" you recommended the Cobra Class 26 and not the Techsew 2750 Pro. So would I be correct in assuming that while you love the Techsew 2750 Pro you love the Cobra Class 26 more?

      @@graphicartstv Just what i came to find out myself. I just saw his video saying the cobra class 26 is the best and now i see this but this video is older so im sure he likes the cobra class 26 more. Im guessing they are basically the same but cobra has more of a following? Im wanting one just to stitch leather hat patches only.

    Hey Parker, I have watched this video several times. I am debating that machine. Have you used it on holsters? Is that half inch enough for that? Would the 5100 be good for lighter work like wallets and bags? It's all very confusing to a first time buyer! Ugh.. Thanks. And missing your vids bro!

    I've seen so many videos and reviews of machines, but really like this machine for some reason. Thanks for the video. Do you use any reverse twist needles too to get those nice slanty stitches? BTW - your veg tan would look great with a cream thread instead of white!!

    Can't go wrong with that machine it's a copy of the Juki 341 I wish they gave you a coupon for free shipping to the USA if they did I would buy from them. But with so many USA dealers it's not worth it for me. They do seem like a good company I talked with them before I bought a Juki 1521s I was going to buy from them but the shipping was a deal breaker.

    Just saw 'Little king goods' and 'Stock & Barrel' both started using Techsew from March 2019, price is over 2000-3000 USD. But isn't it the same machine of $520 PA246 Cylinder Bed? I'm also a buyer, but things are just confusing me. Are those machines coming from same factory or not? If anyone know the truth, explain to me. Thanks.

    Does it have a speed reducer or you are just using the servo motor that comes with the machine?

    • @whitandpark
      @whitandpark  4 роки тому

      you can definitely slow it down with a servo but not nearly as much as you can with the servo + speed reducer. It's basically a bigger pulley so it changes the gearing and gives you a lot more torque and stability. If you're mostly working with leather, it's worth getting a reducer. Most new leather machines come with them

    Did you consider the Techsew 2600 model (smaller cylinder arm diameter)? Does the 3 inch cylinder arm on the 2750 limit inside sewing in your experience?

      2750 sews much thicker stuff you need it doing bags in comparison to the 2600

    Thanks for the great video, I have been wanting a cylinder machine. I appreciate your honesty about the machine. When you get the machine , how much assembly do I have to do when it arrives ? Can I still use your coupon for the extra accessories? Since this video is 3 years old? I really enjoyed watching your other videos. I have already learned a lot from you. I have subscribed to your channel. THANKS!!!!!!

      I just recently purchased this same machine from TechSew directly, and the coupon did not work whatsoever. I didnt ask anyone to try to push the issue but just wanted to let you know. Hopefully this helps you out.

    Thanks for the review, Do you use a speed reducer or just the variable speed on the servo?

      I have this same machine, I highly recommend a speed reducer not for speed, but for torque especially for leather sewing.

    Hi Parker
    Would love to know the oil requirements ( manual or auto) and to see some of the stitch length capabilities. I just bought a Japanese assembled Seiko flat bed so it will be a little while before I can lash out and buy a cylinder model. What type of leather point needle are you using (I hear it is size 18). My needle lays the stitches at an angle (right twist ?.) so back stitching is ugly. Thanks for your videos and I have watched most of them.

      This machine stitches up to 9mm long stitches. It is manually oiled.
