You can't do splits in one day no matter what routine you follow .It is what he does every day to keep his flexibility .I do splits myself , but I had an innate ability for stretching .And I had to train myself for months for doing splits perfectly. Most people can have their legs apart at a 90 degrees , splits are 180 degrees.To tell them they can do splits in one day is misleading. Not only your tendons but also your muscles have to do the stretching .Most importantly you have to do it consistently and gradually otherwise you are prone to injury .

Also, I think your video contains amazing details for a safe routine not free of sore but free of injury. I followed your kicking movements exactly and the rhythm is so incredible. Sometimes I have to shake myself mentally to move on to the next kick. And the fact that you have a rebound movement for every kick is so important to releasing the energy of the kick to prevent injury. In short, your an amazing athlete.
This was one of the BEST split tutorials out there. I found I became warm quickly and strong too. 100% agree with plant based being great for recovery. Thank you.

My daughter (8-y.o.) practices TKD, and I do Hot Yoga, and we do it on regular basis (3-4 times per week). She already does the split but this routine is great for her to make it even better. For me it is encouraging and so helpful to finally do it - the split. Thanks Jake!
It really works I can't do splits yesterday also but while seeing this video it really work now I can do splits and it takes 1 day to sit in the middle splits thanks A lot

When you break your bones or injure your knees and tendons sue him for all he's got for his click bait. Although him being in Thailand may pose some hurdles in the legal process.

I had given my comments on exercises shown immediately on getting up from bed in the morning after a full night sleep. I have gone through the video again. Very informative for second level people. However, split in one day is next to impossible. One, without knowing all these stretching and flexibility exercises will run into trouble. The video contains a lot of information. Thanks for sharing. People need to learn and practice other workouts before trying Split. Thank you once again.
Jake, I'm watching from San Francisco, California USA (although I did visit Thailand back in the 90's and stayed at a guest house near the National Library in Bangkok, them of to Chang Mai, Fang then Koh Samui for 3 months. I'm 58 and can still do the splits, THANK YOU for this video! -ALICE
I don't know about you, but for me it's best to do first the dynamic stretches i.e. leg raises and kicks and finish with the static stretches. If I do static stretches first, I lose some of the explosiveness in the kicks.
Lol i believe to a certain extent that a person can get the splits in that time. If a person literally stretched every single day, 5x a day, for 4 hours, (Which is typical of real shaolin martial artists who train), then this person would be flexible in a matter of 1 month. Anyone can do it. It just takes the time.

For those lucky guys who didn't have to stretch legs or lower back first thing in the morning and I do mean, right off the bed...It's painful. It feels like you're a 50 year-old who didn't play sport since high school ! My hat is off to you for doing this.
Thank you for making this video I've always wanted to do the split since I was little but never could so I never thought it was possible for me to do the split but I've been doing this work out for only 4 days and when I showed my mom I actually did the split 😂😂 I couldn't believe it I was in shock . Plus this video will help me out a lot since I joined karate I also noticed my balance is getting pretty good to 👍 so thank you again ,and your video is helping out alot of people out there.

Jake, if you ever see this comment, I was wondering, do you do this routine every day. I assume you do. But it's different for people who haven't done it for a long time. Do you advise a rest period, say one day, where you only do only the mild stretches and no kicks for us beginners. In addition to regular exercise, one must give time to heal, no? :) Thank you for your time and effort. Oin Romulus those are rumors not facts Bruce Lee never did any of that. Ive never seen a video or picture even of Bruce Lee doing the splits. If you want to compare Lee vs Jean Claude well Jean Claude has more black belts and experience in martial arts and from what ive seen better flexibility
I would strongly advise you not to do this ever because there is a high risk of you seriously injuring yourself, this guys was able to accomplish what he accomplished simply because of the position he was already in, he's already had the ability to do the splits and has simply stopped stretching for a while just so he could make this video, so he's done this routine for a day and accomplished it because it's allot easier for him to go back to doing the splits, as appose to someone else trying to get the splits for the first time, just stick to normal stretching routines and if you stay consistent, and also be mindful of how your body so you don't stretch too far, then you will improve and be more flexible in no time :)
False. Sure the title is misleading, obviously no one can get their splits in one day no matter what routine they follow, unless they are already flexible. That doesn’t mean the stretches themselves aren’t helpful. The stretches jake shows in this video are actually really helpful, and even though you can’t get it in a day, you can for sure get it in a couple months doing this everyday
Hello, i have some pain on my right thigh upper part. This seriously limits abduction movements and kicks. My front kick (mae geri) is pretty ok. I however have serious pains and limitations performing the roundhouse kick which has been my best technique. What kind of stretches can i walk on to enable me regain my comfort performing the kicks? Hi Jake, Thank you for your video. I am a Karate instructor in Kyokushin style. I've been training in Martial Arts since and Sports Combat since 1966 while in College. I have tried Yoga, Kunfu Wu Do Kan, Tae kwan-Do (Ji Do Kwan), Jujitsu, Judo, Kick-Boxing, Boxing, etc.... I have severals Black Belt in different styles, and know a 7th dan (Nanadan) in Kyokushin. My problem is, I was never been able to do the front and side split. Every time that I'm trying to do the split, I have tremendous pain in my knees, so, could you give me advice or exercice to correct this problem. Thank you. God bless.

@7:09 - this is where i stop. repeating the first 7 minutes every day and coming back in 6 months when i'm ready to sit all the way down in the split.
Jake, if you ever see this comment, I was wondering, do you do this routine every day. I assume you do. But it's different for people who haven't done it for a long time. Do you advise a rest period, say one day, where you only do only the mild stretches and no kicks for us beginners. In addition to regular exercise, one must give time to heal, no? :)

Who Can Do A Better SPLIT? Bruce Lee or Jean Claude Van Damme?
Kung Fu & Tai Chi Center w/ Jake Mace hmmm that’s a tough one both are in incredible shape, you see Jean Claude Van Damme show case it more though. Judging by Bruce Lee’s kicks I would say Bruce has the better SPLIT.

Oin Romulus those are rumors not facts Bruce Lee never did any of that. Ive never seen a video or picture even of Bruce Lee doing the splits. If you want to compare Lee vs Jean Claude well Jean Claude has more black belts and experience in martial arts and from what ive seen better flexibility

I would strongly advise you not to do this ever because there is a high risk of you seriously injuring yourself, this guys was able to accomplish what he accomplished simply because of the position he was already in, he's already had the ability to do the splits and has simply stopped stretching for a while just so he could make this video, so he's done this routine for a day and accomplished it because it's allot easier for him to go back to doing the splits, as appose to someone else trying to get the splits for the first time, just stick to normal stretching routines and if you stay consistent, and also be mindful of how your body so you don't stretch too far, then you will improve and be more flexible in no time :)

False. Sure the title is misleading, obviously no one can get their splits in one day no matter what routine they follow, unless they are already flexible. That doesn’t mean the stretches themselves aren’t helpful. The stretches jake shows in this video are actually really helpful, and even though you can’t get it in a day, you can for sure get it in a couple months doing this everyday

Hello, i have some pain on my right thigh upper part. This seriously limits abduction movements and kicks. My front kick (mae geri) is pretty ok. I however have serious pains and limitations performing the roundhouse kick which has been my best technique. What kind of stretches can i walk on to enable me regain my comfort performing the kicks? Thank you.

Thank you for your video. I am a Karate instructor in Kyokushin style. I've been training in Martial Arts since and Sports Combat since 1966 while in College. I have tried Yoga, Kunfu Wu Do Kan, Tae kwan-Do (Ji Do Kwan), Jujitsu, Judo, Kick-Boxing, Boxing, etc.... I have severals Black Belt in different styles, and know a 7th dan (Nanadan) in Kyokushin.
My problem is, I was never been able to do the front and side split. Every time that I'm trying to do the split, I have tremendous pain in my knees, so, could you give me advice or exercice to correct this problem. Thank you. God bless.
