I've been stretching for almost 2 years now and i've managed to get the full split after getting in postion for like 20 secs or so and from my experience the key to this is just patience and consistency , there were alot of times as u said in the video that i felt i'm not improving anymore but i kept pushing and trusted the process , also everyone's body is different u know so i dont recommend rushing it at all it could take months even years so just stay at it , also i dont stretch every day i always include a rest day in between streching days to allow my muscles to recover , patience is key 👌
I’m 1000% satisfied that I’ve successfully convert middle split into an asset. This took me three and a half years just to get this complex flexibility!
Respect on not getting full splits but honoring the truth, and showing the improvement. Keeps it real for the average crowd who struggle with this. Lets ouch together, bro.
After months of practice I can ALMOST do the full split, only like 2cm left. The only issue I have is that my legs get kind of curved if my feet are facing horizontally. Great work getting this far, it's amazing to see how an amazing martial arts practitioner is still learning new things to this day, similar like how my sensei still is learning new things after 30 years of being a black belt. Peace.
Great improvement and determination! I understand hating this process of stretching. If you do want to continue stretching for the middle split but in a slightly less miserable (and, in my opinion, even faster / safer), might I recommend a tiny adjustment? What worked for me was a pretty similar routine to what you did, but instead of starting standing and sinking down as low as you can, start seated. Sit in the ground and open your legs into a straddle, then use your hands behind you to push your legs/hips as far open as you can. You can hold the position for thirty seconds or a minute (whenever it starts to feel comfortable) then push a little farther. I’m not an expert, but in my personal experience this made much faster progress and was waaaaay less painful because of the position of your hip joints, plus the control of being able to hold completely still (instead of bouncing or leaning on your arms) and push the stretch when you’re ready rather than having gravity forcing you down.
at the 4:56 mark that position is the best way to get to full slips quickly put your elbows between your Kness and use your hands to grab above your ankles and push with your elbows for a least 20 to for 40 minutes twice a day for 2 weeks. but in that position make sure you're not on your tip toes but flat footed your right elbow and arm pushing the left side your right knee while your right hand grabs just above your right ankle and do the same on the left! flare out your elbows and push your groin and mind it will be very painful, but it will happen for you fast! and you can do it at anytime not just in your gym but in the bathroom or at work in the bathroom! the key is stretching your groin muscles. i achieved full splits in less than two week at your level of flexibility when i started tae kwon do
In my experience, it took me past 2 months before I could do a full middle split. My trick was putting my arms in a plank position for 1 minute, then after a couple of months I was able to get a deeper stretch by laying on my head. The thing is, I have to do it for 1 minute, rest, do it for another minute, until I do it 3 times.
Congrats on your impressive improvement and constant commitment to better yourself!👍👍 I hope that this encourages you to continue the pursuit, maybe 2-3 times a week. I know you would get to the full splits in 2-3 months if you did, which would unlock even more movement potential for you. For a challenge, maybe something that goes beyond the physical elements of martial arts. Maybe you could come up with a respect challenge or do something for your community. Just a thought…. 🙏🥋
i recommend you to take Massage every 15 days that will make muscles loose and it is very effective especially on ur pelvic region and its not possible for everyone to do that in 30 days just give it more time and be consistent thats all :) ~Osu
Ey you did brill bro you still pushed through the pain great jon It was a bit funny thought, all the clips where yuy fell back and had just had enough with life 😄
I started stretching 2 years ago and I'm almost half way down by now........ the only part that's hurting are my knees, hips and ankles when I push too hard.
I'm seeing things in common.. we both hate stretching and don't do it regularly enough and we both can't do the splits. I used to be able to in my early 20s but got lazy and lost it. Now with a highly physical warehouse job doing heavy lifting all day on my feet, it's even harder with constant DOMS, to be keeping daily mobility while still training calisthenics and kickboxing in between. The cherry on top is living in my car in Florida heat. At the crossroads of life again. Don't stop filming!
Strange to see you not going on full splits. I can easily do them but hamstring stretch absolutely kills me, I was never able to stretch completely after 9 years of Karate, I can go halfway only..
Man I remember when I used to do taekwondo and we had 30 days to learn full split and the teacher gave us a sheet with stretching excersises to do everyday and split time after those excercises. Even though taekwondo is useless most of the time I am still gratefull to it for teaching me splits
Sorry I don’t really enjoy at all , the ending sounds like very negative , thought u will continue and get the full spilt no matter how many days it takes to push for it. Especially u still stated u took martial art seriously 😢

Try to train Taekwondo for 1 full week, that would be an awesome video! (Take private lessons, maybe from Trevor)

Hacer splits muy seguido hace mal ya que tu musculo se hace duro y eso dificulta poder llegar mas abajo

That is true, I probably should’ve included that when doing this challenge!
what kind of massage? Like for how long?
@@rohanofelvenpower5566 oil massage for like every 15 days bw training until ur muscles are loosened and after that u can take it whenever u want
I just watched Henry vo’s challenge just before it is so funny that he got the inspiration from him! What a coincidence 😂
Don't worry bro..you will achieve it..
Hopefully!
Being that close to the splits, it made no sense to stop, full kick potential is always best
3:48. That is the angle of the middle split which I’m currently at.

The pain watching this
Great job.
Here's an important detail: the guy who inspired you to do this only counted the days he stretched into those 30 days. He did not count recovery days.
Wish me luck bro , i wanna try to do split so i can do a nice kick like you do
I get you bro even I cannot do full split my hamstrings are pretty good but my hips hurts when I stretched

Where is your dojo? Would love to come by
Yes I need it this motivates me
Nice keep going👍
Maybe this summer, after school i'll try this, i really need to improve my split
Go for it👍💪
I think it's best if u rest 2-3 days
then before warm up take a warm bath to increase the flexibility
What martial arts have you done?
Let's fight, brother.
Can you make a tour of your dojo?
I wish I had that determination!!! hhhhh
Mathematically speaking, you'd achieve a full split if you continued the stretching for 1 more month.
Am gonna try too
How many hours should I practice straddle stretch?
I did a full split once... By accident. Laminate flooring and socks, not a good combo 😂
Thank you brother you gave us so many tips so that we can do self defence
You’re welcome! Will be dropping a more in depth self defence video soon

Can't you still see progress doing it once or twice a week?

Don’t you need full split? My side kick is really bad. Like I cant reach even waist level. I was considering this challenge to improve it
@@djmx9237 you dont need full split to sidekick high, decent flexibility and good muscle strenght is enough to kick high, so work on both
for what I know after a certain age it is no longer possible to complete the split, like 14/15 years
