Pat should be a high school substitute teacher in his free time. Students would love him. Clear concise, meticulous and commands respect. I’m joking not joking. Dude is great at what he does but I couldn’t help thinking if teachers were like this we’d have more kids interested in learning. Thanks for what you do Sir!

I was a misfit growing up. As a teenager I had difficulty knowing what I wanted. In middle and high school I got all F's and A's. All the teachers I disliked I struggled with the material. All the teachers I liked brought me genuine joy and I did all my homework and extra credit. My report cards were a gross manifestation of how good or bad my teachers were.

What I never quit understood is is why front line, street law enforcement officers, the folks that answer challenging calls where they must make decisions in milliseconds, do not receive better training. SWAT and military elite special forces train constantly. Their training from what I read, seems to be much harder then their actual missions many times. Unlimited budgets for firearms training and schools help these folks to be their best, as it should be. Front line police officers, must make a decision in a second, that attorneys, courts and brass scrutinize for years. A five month academy that teaches a cadet how to load and clean a pistol, shoot it at a paper target, needs to be revamped. SWAT and military special forces, train for a mission. They choose their time and methods. Street cops don’t have that option. I believe that folks like Pat Mac, who have the skill set to do and teach, should set up a program that police departments could use nationally to better train the front line police officer. Much of the bad press that police departments receive, regarding deadly uses of force, seem to be training issues. Call the class “ Basic Cop Stuff.”

I would love to see the rest of this drill/test. Im not following it very well, he starts with the target zone as the Head box 15 rounds, but then says that the A zone and he outlines it, is the standard for his course of fire. What is the course of fire and what does the head box have to do with it.

At no point in time should you ever be encouraging anyone to shoot with one eye closed. There is nothing to be gained shutting off 50% of your vision, I don't care if it's with a support hand or not, it does not help you. If you are target focused, you should be having your sights on target anyways
