    Nice review.. having a bit of a review/unboxing before revisiting my box this weekend… been a while since I sat through it all …

      I just had a Floyd weekend last week and really enjoyed Endless River all over again. I love the bonus content on the box but wish there was even more. I can never have enough Floyd!

    The etching on the back of your Arnold Lane single is different than everyone else’s. Look at other unboxing videos - others have hats on them - yours is the back cover of the first album.

    I have this box set and the new DSoT on bluray is a gem you get the great visuals but see much more of the band plus the bonus footage is awesome!! Nice review 🙂

      I too really like what they were able to do with the Delicate Sound of Thunder. It’s like watching a whole new show. I wish there was more in the way of unreleased material but the 6 tracks from the Division Bell outtakes are my favorite part.

    Hi Brendon,
    I was lucky enough to attend the screening of the renewed version of Delicate Sound of Thunder. This box set looks sumptuous as anything PF releases. This is too expensive for me to splurge on as not a good time for me.... and I don't think that Santa would be that generous... for I cannot expect to get a 400.00 box. All that being said.... really happy for you.... it looks like there is a lot to chew on. However I will be getting the CD version definitely. Something tells me that King Crimson though hefty offer more physical audio and video content.
    Nice review
    Wishing you some more sumptuous audio and video items under the tree.
    God bless
    Tino

    Nick Mason's drumming IS featured on the original, but only on a few tracks. Rick is playing on most tracks off 'AMLOR', but you can barely hear him. Carmine Appice and Jim Keltner plays some of the drumming on the album, but Nick too, and there's a drum machine on the original 'Sorrow'.

    Nice review Brendon! Are you planning to make a review about the “Wish You Were Here” Immersion box set?

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  4 роки тому +1

      I didn’t pick that one up because all of the unreleased tracks were available on the 2 disc Experience Edition of the album. Since the memorabilia is so similar among the boxsets I opted against duplicating.

  • @Nephilim-81
    @Nephilim-81 3 роки тому +2

    Brendon. It is beautiful but the bluray and dvd duplication killed it for me. Also, it has a freak price tag. 🤨
    Other than that it is incredible. I love the picture book and all those 5.1 mixes.

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  3 роки тому +1

      I agree I hate that material was duplicated. This one was not worth the price. Sad thing is as a diehard fan I had to get it and shell out a rediculous price for barely any new content. Still at this point I’ll take anything new by Floyd.

      @@BrendonSnyder I know how you feel, but the lore in that thing is truly magnificent and classy.
      I recently anti’d up and pre ordered the Delicate Sound of Thunder Deluxe set. I love that concert so much I just had to have it. The artwork looks fantastic as does the packaging. So the concert footage has been restored and remastered, which I think is the unique buying point to the set other than the content for delicate sound in your set.
      Anyhow. The later years must look awesome on your self though. The spine is fat as hell. ;)

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  3 роки тому +1

      Yes I keep the Pink Floyd boxset out on display because that cover is so cool. I’m also buying The Delicate Sound Of Thunder individual release to get the packaging. But just the 2 disc version and not the boxset. I’ve got all the stuff from the box included in the Later Years

  • @seanohalloran384
    @seanohalloran384 4 роки тому +1

    Agreed. $350 is over priced. Blu-rays of the Venice and "Delicate Sound Of Thunder" concerts almost make it worth the money though. Perhaps you'll do a video about those as well? PS I wonder what other PF items you could buy to make your own box set for $350? There is a lot of great Floyd merch out there. Great video!

      Thanks, much appreciated. I found the 3 Immersion Boxsets to be quite valuable and worth the cost. I’m still hoping we get a “Middle Years” boxset covering 1973 to 1983.

      @@BrendonSnyder Saw them in '87 in Toronto. Saw r.w. several times and got more political each time. Skipped the last 2 tours and don't mind a bit. Love my Box Set!

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  4 роки тому +2

      I saw PF in 1994 on the Division Bell tour and then Roger Waters in 2017. Roger was definitely more political but he’s always been that way especially on the Animals Album. Also in 2019 I saw Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets in concert playing all the old material from 1967 to 1972 and Roger Waters came out as a guest to sing Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun....wow what a performance.

    Lapse is decent, Bell is better but they both woefully lack any heart. Waters became the increasingly dominant writer because he had something to say, and the fact that all these guys had in them in 30 years without him was 2 albums only proves it

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  4 роки тому +1

      First of all they released 3 studio albums of original material, not 2. Second, Waters only released 3 albums in the same amount of time. But if you add in the two solo albums from Gilmour then he actually produced 5 also to Waters only 3 albums. There is a reason that the Pink Floyd albums tremendously out sold the Waters albums and that’s because their material was much stronger. But then again everyone is entitled to their opinion as are you.

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  4 роки тому +1

      I wouldn’t go that far. But I’m not sure why they didn’t include the supposed 3 hours of jamming that was done for the Division Bell’s second disc that was never released at the time but later became the Endless River. I’d love to hear the reset of that material.
