This actually worked on my 2012 CR-V with 215k miles! BUT use penetrating oil first,, let it soak it. Also turn the pressure up on your impact as much as it can handle. Even with that it took 60 seconds of continuous impact before it broke free.
I’m a Honda mechanic and I bought that socket a few month ago and it really works. I use it all the time, so mujch so that all my fellow mechanics want to borrow it from me.
Yes and No. it does work but you have to have the right impact gun be that electric or air. If you don’t have the right gun to use it with it won’t work.
Thanks for the video. I took my bolt off with a Milwaukee 2763, 1100 ft lbs of torque. Also I used the Lisle 77080 socket. If your gun had 1100 ft lbs of torque you would have taken the bolt off. Thanks again for your excellent videos.
I was skeptical at first too. I bought the cheapest impact wrench from Harbor Freight - Bauer 8.5 Amp 1/2 in. Variable Speed Extreme Torque Impact Wrench with Rocker Switch - for $65 on sale and then bought the Lyle socket for about $29 from Amazon. It took me literally less than 5 seconds to remove the crank bolt on my CB7 Honda Accord with these two items. I spent a week prior trying other methods without success and broke some of my 1/2 drive extentions.
Hey the socket did great. Neither the bolt or socket were damaged. A while back I upgraded my hose and fittings. I noticed my impact gun works better now using the new set up. Something to consider.
ATG Gold W7150 Kim 1K and Milwaukee 2763, both will remove Honda Crankshaft Bolts without needing the ATG's Lisle 77080. I like the ATG because it has high tech brushless motor that has no spark & Cree LED light and spins will stop once you released the trigger. But I placed the ATG's Lisle 77080 onto ATG Gold W7150 Kim 1K so the impact will not work so hard, making it last longer.
I removed a crank bolt from a Honda Odyssey with the DeWalt dcf-899 electric impact using this socket 2 days ago. cranked on it for almost a minute with a regular impact socket and it wouldn't budge and then with this one it came off almost instantly
I took it off with a dcf-899 and a normal Harbor freight impact socket. The dewalt gun has up to 1200 ft-lbs of removal torque that made short work of it .
Your compressor kicks on literally right after you hit the trigger. You need a bigger compressor, also use hi flow fittings and a 1/2 in hose. Your gun sounds weak from low air pressure
What's the max torque on your impact? I was using a 450 ft lb Sunex with the Lisle tool, and that didn't work either. So maybe you need a more powerful impact.
You NEED NEW and STRONGER 1/2" impact guns if YOUR 1/2" IR and Craftsman impact guns aren't doing the job for you to remove that Honda balancer bolt. Your IR gun and Craftsman gun sounds like they are a bit WEAK and maybe worn out in your videos. Furthermore, why is your Air Compressor cycling on so quickly? What size is the air tank on the compressor? I have a 175 PSI Craftsman "2 STAGE" (110volt) 25 gallon Professional air compressor. My compressor does NOT cycle ON anywhere near as QUICKLY as YOUR air compressor does in your videos. Both my IR 1/2' impact gun and my Snap-On MG325 1/2" impact gun work and gets it done! I also have an older 1/2" IR gun that is no longer up to the task but it was bought in the early 90's and it is well used thus having "lower power" than it had when it was bought new. I have a friend that bought the cheapest Craftsman 1/2" impact gun (regular price $39.99 - was on sale for $19.99) that wouldn't remove his lug nuts either. My worn out IR gun removed his lug nuts.
@@bundysgarage in ur video u can hear the lack of power the gun had, i just removed one on a 95 camry 1mz-fe engine with a snap on 22mm impact on a milwaukee m18 fuel high torque cordless impact, zipped it off with zero struggle
it's a great socket....my Milwaukee 2763 cordless,take's them off with Tekton 19mm cr-v cheapie, and harbor freight 19mm cheapie cr-v..your impact's weak !!!!!
Aren't the Crankshaft pulley's reverse-threaded? It seems you're going in the righty-tighty direction? I thought you had to go CLOCKWISE to take it off..
I was about to order this socket on Amazon but after this video 🤔
They work sometimes but not all the time.......

IT MATTERS WHAT GUN YOU USE! I used this SAME socket with a dewalt 1/2 inch XR and it came out like butter. You need the power!
Glad it worked for you. But they don't always come out no matter what gun you use
I’m a Honda mechanic and I bought that socket a few month ago and it really works. I use it all the time, so mujch so that all my fellow mechanics want to borrow it from me.
It works most of the time but not all of the time.
BundysGarage will u recommend to buy it ?

At least from the noise it is making, that gun does not sound powerful enough.
Yes I agree, based on sound of the impacts, those guns don't have no power at all.
james aighewi yeah their wimpy.

I used IR 2135Timax took off crankshaft bold 2003 Sequoia no problem
Use a braker bar and crank the engine, but remove the fuel pump fuse. Use the subframe to hold the braker bar and use a ratchet strap.
I got that bolt off using a Milwaukee Fuel M18 3/4" cordless impact wrench. I think I heard a whimper as it broke loose.
Lmfao!!!!!!!
You need a bigger cfm compressor and gun bro!
I'm going to weld me up one tomorrow.

Try using a HF earthquake 1/2"

BundysGarage which Honda engine is this? Is it the B16 or B22?
