I had the goProMAX when initial app was lame...and the got GO2...and really loved it..especially App.....so then got X2 thinking it would replace MAX. But gopro updated(renamed QUIK) and I actually like working with MAX better. MAX is more straitforward and simpler more efficient workflow, for me. Positions better in cars with form factor. Better audio. They are both good choices. But X2 is not straight forward better. Unfortunately, i damaged foward facing lens....but still use as a 180 cam lol!!!!
I take go pro max cons: app quik is subscribe need to make edits, a had to buy codec for windows to have see and editing pc app, and also pc version is not for my not excellent pc, but insta have more options and have not to buy... This is what I find
I agree it's still a great camera at a very reasonable price for the technology included. I use it for shooting full 360 videos to watch on VR headsets. My request: an 8K (or greater) version that is the same form factor and ease of use.
I wish insta 360 would update the app settings to allow us old OneX users to do the effects that are currently only allowed with the OneX2. Since I have so many accessories I don't want to update until a third version of the camera comes out

I’ve been a GoPro Max user for over a year since I already own a Hero7. Keeping tabs on Insta 360 and anything new that might be coming down the pike. For certain action sports applications 360 cams aren’t just nice to have, they enable action capture you could never achieve without a second person filming you. I can mount 360 cam on a tripod in 5 ft of water and wingfoil around it so that after reframing it looks like the cam is panning to follow me. Only draw back is that I have to remain fairly close to the cam or resolution goes to hell quickly. I can also mount on the wing itself for some great reframed footage. Biggest drawback to any 360 action cam are the easily scratched curved lense faces. In aggressive action filming environments those curved faces stick out and almost always get scratched up over time . Cover protectors are useless for watersport applications. It will be interesting to see what the next product releases look like. Outside of the scratchable lenses the Max has been extremely durable given the amount of abuse I’ve subjected it to.
Can someone tell me in which of these virtual tour softwares you can download your tour to your computer and then upload it to your own site, so it is not linked to a metareal url(for example)? Thanks
No, I have Insta360 X2; it is great, no overheats at all. I used Go 2 for a few weeks and returned it, it overheated a lot; as you mentioned, also battery life is freaking annoying.

What is great software 360 worth on a sunny day, with a damage lence. 0, but you can put a extra lence, on a protektion lence, there sits over the lence. lol sucks so much. First 360 cams had, lens there had easy switch, when, if needed, now you have to send it to china. weeeeee! Fuck it.

I think all the good reviews on them are paid and far from the sad truth. Dont buy .. if you think the expended gaurantie will help for something… waste of money.

I replaced my gopro max by the insta360 one x2. And i am very happy !!!! No regrets at all.

Started doing that myself. Taking it in vacation and using the Oculus to relive our vacation and see things we missed or didn’t see.

That's their way to force you to buy the new ones, the tricks that can be done on the x2 has a workaround for the old version
