I've got to say I wish this video had come awhile back instead of just abandoning the project without a word. I mean a little of it was said in the last video but all of this came after promising expansion of the channel. Obviously she is not beholden to us and I'm happy for her other opportunities and successes. It's just sad to see a series that brought me so much laughter just suddenly disappear. All the same thanks for the many enjoyable videos. I hope you find more inspiration in the comedy space eventually whether it's twisted translations or otherwise. Maybe branch out to ai transcription and UA-cam subtitles!

as someone who enjoys google translate, i find that "filtering" through differently based languages (latin vs non-latin based languages) is very helpful to make hilarity

Since it's already been a month since you posted this I dunno if you'll read it, but I'll say it anyway. 😊I've been subscribed to this channel ever since the ever legendary Let It Go translate. We're close in age too, with me being just 3 years older, so it kinda really isn't an exaggeration to say my young adult self grew up with this channel. My early adult years were plagued by so many painful experiences, I can't even begin to guess how much sleep I've lost to crying and wanting to give up.
Your GTS videos really reminded me of the lighter side of life and helped me find that levity I needed to push on through and get to the other side of the swamp. And for that I'm so grateful. I'm sure I'm not the only one as well. I've seen sooooo many people comment on your videos how much they really needed that laugh today cause life was hitting them in the gut right then. Some people need a hug to go on, others just need to laugh about "Satan takes me to the pasta!" for a minute to wipe their tears away.
Sadly, I'm gonna be honest and say the style of music you chose to pursue really isn't my niche, and that's okay. I don't expect you to change or whatever. But it also would feel dishonest and gimmicky to me to actively support something I simply don't enjoy. Which means I guess this is goodbye. 😊I really do wish you all the best. I'm really happy that you've found your happy place and are able to do what you truly love, that you were able to find yourself in what you do and are excited about your journey forward from here. I have my high school Spanish teacher to thank for introducing me to this channel back then because she showed us your Let It Go video to warn us not to be reliant on google translate and when I got home from school I looked up your channel to see your other videos. It's truly been a pleasure to watch you grow as a creator.

Malinda, I am not exaggerating for a second when I say that this very channel got me through the first 2.5 years of university when I have found it.
Back then, it was very regularly updated and every week or two or a month I'd get a notification about a new video and then laugh SO HARD for the next 10-20 minutes... Mentally, it really carried me. For that you have my deepest gratitude.
I still enjoy your content at MALINDA and I love hearing your voice in some collabs or some tiktok music compilations that sometimes make it to UA-cam - but Google Translate Sings still has a special place in my heart. I do hope you'll do a song or two every now and then... For old times' sake. And if not, then I hope someone might pick up the torch and run with it onward, to more great translation humour and more.

I’m 22 but the first video I watched of hers was in 7th grade and it was the let it go one we saw in one of my classes together (it was because they wanted to warn us not to use google translate on our language classes). I lost her channel for a couple years and didn’t get back into it until I was in high school around 2016. I loved her channel in high school and I regularly quoted the videos all the time, still go back and rewatch my favorites sometimes

I'm so glad I never stopped being subbed to this channel. When I happened upon Malinda's content a decade ago, I was constantly searching for Frozen content. I’m a voice teacher and one of my students LOVES to sing your songs so I’ve been listening the whole google translate sings playlist every week for like four years. Your work had a huge impact on people and it was such a good way to introduce lots of different musical styles and techniques!

I was kinda worried that you'd stopped this completely, and this is a delightful surprise. You had put a smile upon my face during the pandemic era when I was confined at my home with my ailing mom, temporarily off work and living under shutdown. At least you were doing well, as seen from your work - my brother follows you on instagram and Spotify and played me a song of you, without me knowing about you from here.
As a part-time translator and a language nerd, I assure you that you don't have to worry about Google Translate doing better. They have been adding a lot of new languages and many of them still are not that well, besides passing it through many languages should make it equally absurd. It did its job in this video after all. People still make videos with that. Tasty has videos where recipes are passed through Google Translate and the final result is cooked. They are hilarious. I think I saw one more recent than a year maybe.
I have so many things I want to say but cannot find the words... GTS has saved me (and still does) from myself so many times, and I come back and watch videos whenever I am sad or struggling with my depression, so thank you Malinda, sincerely, for the past ten years, and whether or not you do more, I'll always come back to this. I'm so proud of how much you've accomplished this past decade, and watching it happen in real time has been so inspiring. Never stop chasing your dreams.
